Class B Volleyball Roundup - Northwestern sweeps Bennett County, claims third-place finish

Northwestern 3, Bennett County 0

RAPID CITY — Northwestern swept Bennett County to take third place at the Class B state volleyball tournament. The set scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-12.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven had 17 kills, nine digs and two blocks, Breelyn Satter added nine kills, Lila Johnson totaled 16 digs and four kills, Ella Boekelheide had 28 assists, 14 digs and two blocks while Tarablachford collected seven digs in the win.

For BC, Reagan O’Neill tallied 16 kills and eight digs, Peyson O’Neill had 17 digs and seven kills, Macy Claussen dished out 23 assists with 10 digs, while Harley Harris tallied 14 digs in the loss.


Herreid/Selby Area 3, Harding County 2

RAPID CITY — Herreid/Selby Area rallied from a 2-0 deficit and edged Harding County for seventh place at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Saturday. The set scores 23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23 and 15-12.

HSA’s Jordyn Rossow posted 24 kills and nine digs. Breanna Jochim totaled 14 kills and 19 digs. Alyssa Kaup recorded 40 of the team’s 119 digs. Katie Allbee totaled 40 assists and 26 digs. Brooklyn Helm added 17 digs. 

For Harding County, Kamry Padden posted 17 kills, 13 assists and 27 digs. Macey Wendt added 11 kills and 21 digs. Mya Glines recorded five kills, six aces, 30 assists and 13 digs. Lexy Rolph had 32 of the team’s 119 digs.


Gayville-Volin 3, Parkston 0

RAPID CITY — Gayville-Volin swept Parkston to claim the consolation championship at the Class B state tournament Saturday. The set scores were 25-8, 26-24 and 25-21.

GV’s Maia Achen had 15 kills and 16 digs, Beeck tallied 23 assists with five digs, Aliza Westrum netted eight kills and eight digs, Kaylee Wuebben recorded 13 assists and three digs, Jolie Westrum had 20 digs and five kills, Paisley Dimmer netted 13 digs and seven kills while Taylor Hoxeng had 31 digs in the win.

Parkston’s Keeara Oakley had 20 digs, 11 kills and five blocks, Berkley Ziebart tallied 23 digs, Finley Bogenreif dished out 18 assists and nine digs while Addison Koehn had 15 digs in the loss.
