Colman-Egan girls, Elkton-Lake Benton boys win titles at Dolphin Relays

WHITE — The Colman-Egan girls won Thursday’s Dolphin Relays team title scoring 150 points, ahead of Deubrook Area (133) and Elkton-Lake Benton (93). Dell Rapid St. Mary (82.75) and Arlington (69.75) rounded out the top five teams. 

The Elkton-Lake Benton boys pulled ahead late scoring 160 points, ahead of Deubrook Area (133) and Colman-Egan (118). De Smet (90) and Castlewood rounded out the top five teams. 

Colman-Egan’s Daniela Lee finished second in the 200-meter dash (25.55), anchored the winning 800-meter relay (1:51.15) and ran the opening leg on the winning sprint medley relay (4:29.46). Colman-Egan won the 400-meter relay (:53.29) and 1,600-meter relay (4:15.59). The Hawks added wins from Michoen Williamson in the shot put (34-10), Anna Zwart in the javelin (113-9) and high jump (4-10)

Arlington’s Chloe Raw won the100-meter dash (:12.03), 200-meter dash (:24.86) and finished second in the long jump (15-6). Kaelyn Ulschmid won the 3,200 meter run (11:58.74). The Deubrook Area girls picked up wins from Kylee Johnson in the 400-meter run (1:02.72), Nora Olsen in the 800-meter run (2:28.59), Nora Olsen in the 1,600-meter run (5:27.69), Akasha Gorecki in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.61). Deubrook Area also won the 3,200 meter relay (10:53.75)

In boys action, Elkton-Lake Benton’s Nate Timm won the 1,600-meter run (4:56.35) and 3,200-meter run (10:49.99) and ran the opening leg on the winning 3,200-meter relay (9:04.60). Sophomore Taiton Boersma won the shot put (47-7) and Quinten Poindexter won the long jump (21-06). The foursome of Riddick Westley, Colt Beck, Tanner Stein and Poindexter won the 800-meter relay (1:33.57). 

Deubrook Area’s Gavin Landmark won the 400-meter dash (52.28) with Jaxon Quail (:52.78) and Landen Johnson (53.27) right behind. Quail won the 800-meter run (2:06.24) and ran a leg on the second place 800-meter relay (1:33.71). Qual, Johnson, Jake Jorenby and Landmark won the 1,600-meter relay (3:29.29) and Jace Vomacka won the javelin (145-00

Colman-Egan’s Jack Mousel won the high jump (6-4), finished second in the 200-meter dash (:23.21), anchored the secondi place 400-meter relay (:45.45) and anchored the third place 800-meter relay (1:34.37). Christopher Lee won the 100-meter dash (:10.99) and ran legs on the 400-meter relay and 800-meter relay. Jase Mousel won the triple jump (42-3)

Castlewood’s Camron Eng won the 200-meter dash (:22.78), finished third in the 100-meter dash (:11.31) and ran the opening leg on Castlewood’s fourth place 800-meter relay (1:35.16)
