Hanson 64, Ethan 45

ALEXANDRIA -- Three players scored in double figures to power Hanson to a boys basketball win over Ethan on Saturday.

Ethan Cheeseman and Noah Price led the way with 17 points apiece. Cheeseman grabbed nine rebounds and Price dished out five assists. Luke Haiar added 10 points and six assists. 

Ethan’s Kaden Klumb led the Rustlers with 14 points and three rebounds. Kory Storm added 10 points and Jay Storm grabbed five rebounds.

Winner 72, Wagner 39

WINNER -- Three players scored in double figures to lead Winner to a boys basketball win over Wagner on Saturday.

Elijah Peterson led the Warriors with 19 points, five 3-pointers, four rebounds and three steals. Slade Cournoyer finished with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Blake Volmer stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Ethan Bartels and Jackson Vesely had seven points apiece. Bartels added five rebounds, while Shawn Hammerbeck had six rebounds and four points.

Wagner’s Dustin Honomichl finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Toby Zephier netted 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Daelynn Red Buffalo recorded seven points and three rebounds. Niko Drapeau collected five rebounds. 


De Smet 72, Deubrook Area 47

DEUBROOK -- Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 1 De Smet to a boys basketball win over Deubrook Area on Saturday.

Rett Osthus tossed in 28 points and hit three 3-pointers. Kalen Garry added 14 points and Kadyn Fast logged 10 points. Damon Wilkinson added eight points for the Bulldogs. 

Deubrook Area’s Mason Shaw finished with 11 points and Cooper Holmlund scored nine points. Nick Bowine finished with five points. 


Platte-Geddes 63, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 27

PLATTE -- Platte-Geddes jumped out to a 39-15 halftime lead and downed Andes Central/Dakota Christian in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Caden Foxley led the Black Panthers with a 11-point and 12-rebound double-double. Cade Nachtigal added 10 points, while Dawson Hoffman scored eight points. Jackson Neuman and Jackson Olsen had five rebounds apiece. Neuman and Hayes Rabenberg added four assists apiece. 

ACDC’s Rizon Clark tossed in 14 points, while Nolan Black Cloud scored six points. Julius Bruguier grabbed 10 rebounds. Cameron Sybesma and Mason Olson had seven and five rebounds, respectively. Olson added three steals. 


Pierre 61, Rapid City Central 32

RAPID CITY -- Pierre picked up a boys basketball win over Rapid City Central on Saturday.

Lincoln Kienholz led the Governors with 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Ben Heiser logged 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. Matthew Hanson added eight points and three rebounds. Jett Zabel had six points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Rapid City Central’s Shun-Zi White Woman had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Cooper Totten finished with seven points and seven rebounds. Jon Suarez scored five points. 


West Central 85, Sioux Falls Christian 74

SIOUX FALLS -- Grafton Stroup tossed in 25 points to power West Central to an upset over Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Jack Linneman, Mubarak Ibrahim and Brandon Dierickx scored 13 points apiece. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Nathan Koole scored 19 points, while Ethan Bruns added 15 points and Logan Schipper scored 14 points. Jaden Witte added 11 points.


Sioux Valley 67, Clark/Willow Lake 49

VOLGA -- Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley topped Clark/Willow Lake in boys basketball action on Saturday. 

Hayden Ruesink led the Cossacks with 21 points, while Damian Danzeisen and Oliver Vincent scored 13 points apiece. Alec Squires recorded seven points and 10 rebounds. Danzeisen had four assists and Parker Puetz added six points. 

CWL’s Brady Jordan tossed in 17 points. Kaplan Felberg scored seven points, while Tyler O’Neill and Hunter Bratland scored six points apiece. O’Neill and Nolan Boykin had six rebounds apiece. Cole Brenden dished out five assists.

Viborg-Hurley 64, Freeman 27

HURLEY -- Hayden Gilbert poured in 28 points to pace Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win over Freeman on Saturday.

Gilbert added seven rebounds, three rebounds and three steals. Gage Goettertz added eight points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Devin Sayler logged eight points and three steals. 

Freeman’s Blake Rumelhart scored eight points. 


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 44, Menno 34

MENNO -- Tripp-Delmont/Armour pulled away from Menno for a boys basketball victory on Saturday.

TDA’s Riley Spaans scored 15 points. Kase Brouwer and Mason Reiner each had seven points in the win. 

Menno’s Kadeyn Ulmer and Blake Rames both scored 10 points. Rames collected seven rebounds, while Ulmer had five boards. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 58, Sunshine Bible Academy 23

MILLER -- Sanborn Central/Woonsocket coasted past Sunshine Bible Academy for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Brady Larson led SCW with 12 points and six rebounds. Tryce Slykhuis logged 10 points and five steals. Jeff Boschee and Toby Kneen scored nine points apiece. Hayden Beigh added eight points and six rebounds. Noah Wormstadt and Bryce Larson scored five points apiece. 

SBA’s Nolan Triebwasser scored 17 points and Daniel Gerbracht scored six points. 


Groton Area 70, Britton-Hecla 49

BRITTON -- Groton Area picked up a 21-point boys basketball win over Britton-Hecla on Saturday.

Groton Area’s Jacob Zak led the way with 13 points and Lane Tietz tossed in 12 points. Jayden Zak, Tate Larson, Teylor Diegel and Wyatt Hearnen scored eight points apiece. Cole Simon scored five points. 

Britton-Hecla’s Aidan Fredrickson scored 21 points, while BoDell Davidson netted 12 points. Gage Storley scored seven points. 


Lennox 67, Milbank 50

MILBANK -- Porter Ihnen and Steven Christion combined for 35 points to pace Lennox to a boys basketball win over Milbank on Saturday.

Ihnen tossed in 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. Christion added 11 points, five rebounds and three steals. Jackson Arlt and Braeden Wulf scored eight points apiece. Talan Diercks scored seven points. 

Milbank’s Wylie Mursu scored 13 points and collected four rebounds. Bennett Schwenn added 12 points and three boards. Garrett Mertens finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Justus Osborn recorded eight points and five rebounds.


Garretson 50, Chester Area 48

CHESTER -- Garretson edged Chester Area in a boys basketball contest on Saturday.

Cooper Long led the Blue Dragons with 15 points and four steals. Sam Schleuter added 11 points, while Dylan Kindt had seven rebounds and five assists. 

Chester Area’s Stratton Eppard logged 21 points, added six assists and three steals. Layke Wold added 10 points. Brock Wages collected eight rebounds. 


Madison 52, Elk Point-Jefferson 47

MADISON -- Three players scored in double figures to pace Madison to a boys basketball win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Saturday. 

Nate Ricke finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. Aiden Jensen added 15 points, while Aspen Dahl tossed in 11 points and grabbed four rebounds. Peyton Wolf and Ben Brooks each had five rebounds and four points. Wolf added three steals. 

EPJ’s Easton Kempf finished with 17 points and nine boards. Chase Fornia added 10 points and five rebounds. Landon Geary scored eight points.

Girls basketball

Ethan 54, Hanson 49

ALEXANDRIA -- Class B No. 4 Ethan used a 13-8 fourth quarter to edge rival Hanson in Saturday girls basketball action. 

Ethan’s Hannah Bartscher tossed in 19 points and handed out five assists. Ava Lingemann scored 17 points, while Maddy Bartscher collected six rebounds and had five steals. 

Hanson’s Annalyse Weber led the Beavers with 17 points and seven rebounds. Alyssa Moschell netted 15 points. 


Wagner 41, Winner 34

WINNER -- Wagner used a 10-6 fourth quarter to upset Class A No. 1 Winner in girls basketball action on Saturday.

Emma Yost led Wagner with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ashlyn Koupal added seven points and five rebounds. Lydia Yost tossed in six points, while Macy Koupal had three points, three assists and five rebounds. Shalayne Nagel had three points, four rebounds and six assists for Wagner, which was receiving votes in the preseason poll.

Winner’s Bella Swedlund tossed in 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Kelsey Sachtjen had eight points and 12 rebounds. Ellie Brozik finished with five points and four rebounds. 


Corsica-Stickney 76, Colome 12

CORSICA -- Five players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 2 Corsica-Stickney to a girls basketball victory over Colome on Saturday.

Morgan Clites led the balanced scoring attack with 13 points. Payton DeLange and Avery Broughton added 12 points apiece. DeLange added five rebounds, while Broughton had five assists and four rebounds. Casey Tolsma and Rachel Gerlach scored 10 points apiece. Gerlach dished out five assists. Jacey Kemp and Mara Legge posted five points apiece. Kemp had five rebounds. 

Colome’s Maura Luedke had a team-high nine points. Shaleena Kingsley grabbed a team-high six rebounds. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 46, Platte-Geddes 37

PLATTE -- Lexie VanderPol and Josie Brouwer combined for 30 points to lead Andes Central/Dakota Christian to a girls basketball victory over Platte-Geddes on Saturday. 

VanderPol recorded 17 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Brouwer added 13 points and seven rebounds. Allison Muckey finished with seven points and nine rebounds. 

Baleigh Nachtigal scored 14 points for Platte-Geddes. Karly VanDerWerff added seven points and 11 rebounds. Hadley Hanson recorded four assists. 


Lennox 59, Milbank 36

MILBANK -- Three players scored in double figures to pace Lennox to a girls basketball win over Milbank on Saturday.

Drew Kuyper scored 15 points, while Andie Peters had 12 points, four assists and three 3-pointers. Alicia Ruud added 11 points and five rebounds. Dani Highum recorded nine points, six assists and five rebounds. Courtney Sandal posted four points, five assists and five rebounds.

Milbank’s Isabella Anderson scored a game-high 25 points and dished out nine assists. Maurina Street posted eight points and eight rebounds. 


Menno 39, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 28

MENNO -- Bridget Vaith posted a double-double to pace Menno to a girls basketball win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Saturday.

Vaith finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. Paityn Huber added eight points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Grace Nusz added five points, nine rebounds and three steals. Ashton Massey contributed four rebounds, five assists and three rebounds.

TDA’s Megan Reiner finished with 15 points, six steals and four rebounds. Hannah Stremick and Raevin Castle had six and five points, respectively. 


Ipswich 53, Hitchcock-Tulare 35

TULARE -- Three players scored in double figures to pace Ipswich to a girls basketball victory over Hitchcock-Tulare on Saturday.

Katie Bierman finished with 17 points and seven assists, while Quincy Olivier and Gabby Wald scored 10 points apiece. Baylee Kulesa and Karlie Gohl scored six and five points, respectively. Kulesa added seven rebounds and Bierman had five steals. 

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Katelyn Schroeder scored 19 points and Cambree Hoekman added seven points. Madison Hofer scored five points. Schroeder and Hoekman grabbed five rebounds apiece. Schroeder added four steals and three assists. 


Garretson 67, Chester Area 54

CHESTER -- Jaelyn Benson and Lily Ranschau combined for 37 points to lead Garretson to a girls basketball win over Chester Area on Saturday.

Benson finished with 21 points and three assists. Ranschau added 16 points and five steals. Anna Jones grabbed 11 rebounds, while Sydney Olson added eight rebounds. Logan Bly added six rebounds. 

Chester Area’s Emmerson Eppard tossed in 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Emery Larson and Kaylor Geraets scored 11 points apiece. Larson added eight rebounds and Eppard had six steals. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 44, Madison 32

MADISON -- Elk Point-Jefferson picked up a 12-point girls basketball win over Madison on Saturday.

EPJ was led by Nora Kastning’s 12 points and nine rebounds. Kaitlyn VanRoekel and Josie Curry scored nine points apiece. Ashley Brewer recorded eight points and seven rebounds. 

Madison’s Zoey Gerry finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Abby Morse recorded six points and six rebounds. Audrey Nelson added five points and five rebounds. 


White River 59, Stanley County 28 

WHITE RIVER -- Class B No. 3 White River downed Stanley County in girls basketball action on Saturday. 

Maleighya Estes powered the Tigers with 23 points. Rhea Tucker added 11 points and Lilly Krogman scored eight points. Kelsey Morrison tossed in seven points. 


North Central 49, McIntosh 17

BOWDLE -- North Central topped McIntosh in Saturday girls basketball action. 

Brittney Frickson led the way with 16 points. Jenisa Jacobs and Amree VanderVorst scored eight points apiece. Abby Opp added five points. 

Chloe Sandland scored six points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 63, Sunshine Bible Academy 10

MILLER -- Three players scored in double figures to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a girls basketball victory over Sunshine Bible Academy on Saturday.

Trista White led the Blackhawks with 16 points and four steals. Trinity Boschee added 11 points and three steals. Lizzie Boschee recorded 10 points. Kennadie Oschner logged eight points and four steals. Brooke Doering finished with four points, six rebounds and three steals. 

SBA’s Jakki Burma and Aja Paul scored three points apiece. Burma added five rebounds. 


De Smet 37, Deubrook Area 29

DEUBROOK -- De Smet pulled away from Deubrook Area for a girls basketball victory on Saturday.

Kennadi Buchholz logged a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double for the Bulldogs. Jada Burke added nine points and nine rebounds. Cori Birkel scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds. Emma Albrecht had six rebounds and five assists. 

Deubrook Area’s Kadence Bowne finished with seven points and seven rebounds. Carley Landmark, Emma Sheffield and Miranda Moravetz had six points apiece. Sheffield collected seven rebounds.
