Lower Brule 70, Little Wound 61

Five players scored in double figures to pace Lower Brule to a boys basketball win over Little Wound in the Oceti Sakowin Bracket on Thursday.

Brian LaRoche Jr., led Lower Brule with 20 points, five steals and four rebounds. Gavin Thigh added 17 points and four rebounds. Keshaume Thigh logged 11 points and 10 boards. Gary Lane and Ellwyn Langdeau scored 10 points apiece. Lower Brule plays Lakota Tech on Friday in the bracket championship semifinals.

Little Wound’s Trey Yellow Boy logged a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double for the Mustangs. Dylan Cuny also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Wakiyan Cuny added 12 points and five rebounds. Andres Dubray contributed 10 points and nine boards. Little Wound plays Cheyenne-Eagle on Friday in the bracket consolation semifinals. 


White River 65, Rapid City Christian 52

Joe Sayler tossed in 37 points to power White River to a boys basketball win over Rapid City Christian in the Oceti Sakowin Bracket on Thursday.

Sayler added five 3-pointers and five rebounds for the Tigers. Dylan Marshall contributed 17 points in the win. Nicholas Marshall finished with five points. White River plays Red Cloud on Friday in the bracket championship semifinals. 

Rapid City Christian’s Carson Glassbrenner led the Comets with 12 points and six rebounds. Wilson Kieffer finished with seven points, while Elijah Hoyt and Jackson DiBona scored six points apiece. Sam Fischer added five points. Rapid City Christian plays Tiopsa Zina in the bracket consolation semifinals. 


Red Cloud 64, Tiospa Zina 59

Three players scored in double figures to pace Red Cloud to a boys basketball victory over Tiospa Zina in the Oceti Sakowin Bracket on Thursday.

Adriano Rama led the Crusaders with 17 points, five assists and four rebounds. Haedyn Haas added 14 points and four boards. Jules Ecoffey tossed in 12 points and grabbed four rebounds. Josiah Cottier and Stacy Eagle Bear-Poignee had nine and six points, respectively. Red Cloud plays White River on Friday in the bracket championship semifinals. 

Tiospa Zina’s Juron Adams finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Jayvyn Adams notched 12 points, while Reondre Greeley logged 11 points. Tiospa Zina plays Rapid City Christian in the bracket consolation semifinals. 


Lakota Tech 71, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 52

Four players reached double figures as Lakota Tech pulled away in the second half for a win over Cheyenne Eagle Butte in the Oceti Sakowin Bracket on Thursday. 

Jordan Whirlwind Horse led the Tatanka with 17 points. Beau Donovan and Triston LeBeau both had 16 points. Marvin Richard III scored ten points. Lakota Tech plays Lower Brule in the bracket championship semifinals. 

Rance Harrison led the Braves with 22 points and eight rebounds. Kanon Keckler added 13 points for the Braves 


Todd County 68, St. Francis 39

Terrance Eastman tossed in 23 points in Todd County’s boys basketball win over St. Francis in the Makosica Bracket in boys basketball action on Thursday. 

Eastman added six rebounds for the Falcons, out-rebounded St. Francis by a 35-21 margin. Ray Crow, Sayge Yellow Eagle and Charles Long scored nine points apiece. Richard Brill added five points and Michael Larvie grabbed four rebounds. Todd County plays Custer in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

St. Francis’ Drake Young finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Cante Kills In Water added 16 points and five boards. Shane Henry grabbed five rebounds. St. Francis plays McLaughlin in the bracket consolation championship semifinals on Friday.


Custer 59, McLaughlin 44

Three players scored in double figures to pace Custer to a boys basketball win over McLaughlin in the Makosica Bracket on Thursday. 

Custer’s Gage Tennyson led the Wildcats with 22 points and nine rebounds. Sawyer Chramm added 12 points and seven rebounds. Kyle Virture logged 11 points and seven rebounds. Rhett Lowe recorded seven points. Custer plays Todd County in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

McLaughlin’s Jeray Antelope scored 16 points, while Elias Sims added 12 points and eight rebounds. Trevon Bagola scored five points and Mika Archambeau grabbed five boards. McLaughlin plays St. Francis in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Crazy Horse 75, Pine Ridge 43 

Four players scored in double figures to guide Crazy Horse to a boys basketball win over Pine Ridge in the Makosica Bracket on Thursday. 

Crazy Horse’s Kris Meeter led the way with 18 points, six steals, four assists and three steals. Jaysen Meeter also scored 18 points, while adding four rebounds and three steals. Davontae Ghost Dog finished with 12 points, while Noah Iron Horse scored 10 points. Preston Hawkins recorded seven points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Hyden Martin grabbed eight rebounds. Crazy Horse plays Crow Creek in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Pine Ridge’s Hoksila White Magpie finished with nine points and three steals. Lance Brewer added nine points, while Christian Pulliam had seven points. Colten Romero added six points and four rebounds. Pine Ridge plays Omaha Nation in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 

 

Crow Creek 81, Omaha Nation 65

Crow Creek had another big offensive output scoring 80 plus points for a second consecutive day to earn a win over Omaha Nation in the Makosica Bracket on Thursday. 

Quentin McBride led all scorers with 26 points, two assists and four steals. Christian Bishop added 15 points and five rebounds while Julian Eagle finished with 11 points. Crow Creek plays Crazy Horse in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Riley McCauley and Todd Stabler combined for 33 points. Keithin Miller scored 12 points while Jarius Harland scored four points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Omaha Nation plays Pine Ridge in the bracket consolation semifinals 

 

Wakpala 108, Takini 12

Reymin Yellow Earrings erupted for 43 points in Wakpala’s boys basketball win over Takini in Paha Sapa Bracket action on Thursday. 

Yellow Earrings finished with 21 of 26 from the field. Lane Cadotte added 26 points and six rebounds. Mikal Flying Bye posted 12 points, while Zachary Moran scored seven points. Jorge Hawk and Wakiya Plenty Chief scored six points apiece. Plenty Chief grabbed four rebounds. Wakpala plays Marty in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday.

Takini’s Kyson Grows Ghost scored four points and three boards. Takini plays Todd County JV in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday.


Marty 52, Todd County JV 25

Lawrence Rouse and Elijah Walker combined for 28 points in Marty’s boys basketball victory over Todd County JV in Paha Sapa Bracket action on Thursday. 

Rouse led the Braves with 16 points and six rebounds. Walker added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Marty plays Wakpala in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Ty Valandra finished with seven points for Todd County JV. Spencer Bear Heels and Robert Antoine scored six points apiece, while Antoine grabbed 10 boards. Drake Espinoza had five rebounds. Todd County JV plays Takini in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Santee, Neb., 87, Dupree 35 

Five players scored in double figures to lead Santee, Nebraska, to a boys basketball win over Dupree in Paha Sapa Bracket play on Thursday.

Justus Denney scored 15 points, while Austyn Saul scored 13 points. Nunpa Torrez and Orin Archambeau scored 12 points apiece. Romeo White added 11 points and Hoksidan Wabasha scored six points. Christian Torrez scored five points. Santee plays Oelrichs in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Dupree’s Klayte McLellan finished with a game-high 21 points and hit three 3-pointers. Tyler Stambach added five points. Dupree plays Tiospaye Topa in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Oelrichs 59, Tiospaye Topa 18

Oelrichs topped Tiospaye Topa in Paha Sapa Bracket boys basketball play on Thursday.

Quentin Rouillard finished with 11 points and four rebounds. Jacob Twiss had eight points, while Mato Poor Bear added seven points. Tyriece Two Lance and Stanley Walkling had six points apiece. Walkling had seven rebounds and Tyler Swiftwater grabbed five rebounds. Oelrichs plays Santee, Nebraska, on Friday.

Tiospaye Topa’s Manual Swan III and Julian Two Crow had six points apiece. Two Crow added five points. Tiospaye Topa plays Dupree in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday.
