West Central 58, Winner 48

WINNER — Class A No. 3 West Central topped Winner in girls basketball action on Friday. 

Rylee Haldeman finished with 19 points, five assists and four rebounds. Addy Kramer added 18 points and six rebounds. Tabor Teel recorded eight points and eight rebounds. 

Winner’s Bella Swedlund poured in 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Ellie Brozik finished with nine points and six rebounds. Kelsey Sachtjen posted 10 rebounds and four points. 


Hanson 60, Menno 35

MENNO — Eliza Oltmanns and Annalyse Weber combined for 24 points to pace Hanson to a girls basketball win over Menno on Friday. 

Oltmanns finished with 13 points and six steals. Weber added 11 points and five steals. Alyssa Moschell and Kate Haiar scored eight points apiece. Moschell grabbed seven rebounds. Vanessa Doyle scored six points. 

Menno’s Paityn Huber finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Grace Nusz added seven points, seven rebounds and four rebounds. Ashton Massey added five points. 


Bridgewater-Emery 49, Canistota 42

CANISTOTA — Chloe Schmitt recorded a double-double to lead Bridgewater-Emery to a girls basketball win over Canistota on Friday.

Schmitt finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Schallenkamp finished with nine points and Morgan Uptagrafft had eight points and 11 rebounds.

Canistota’s Sydnee Engbrecht scored 14 points, while Hannah Hoffman recorded 11 points. Kayla Papendick grabbed 11 rebounds.


Dakota Valley 57, Canton 31

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley topped Canton in girls basketball action on Friday. 

Rylee Rosenquist led the way with 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Grace Bass logged a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double in the win. 

Canton’s Amanda Lease finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Danica Rozeboom grabbed six boards. 


Tri-Valley 66, Chester Area 45

COLTON — Tri-Valley topped Chester Area in a girls basketball contest on Friday. 

Tri-Valley’s Paige Jewett finished with 22 points, while Ava Pearson posted 11 points. Madelyn Wenzel had 10 points. 

Chester Area’s Emmerson Eppard added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Emery Larson scored nine points and Kaylor Geraets had four rebounds. 


Viborg-Hurley 55, Irene-Wakonda 43

HURLEY — Coral Mason logged 23 points to pace Viborg-Hurley to a girls basketball win over Irene-Wakonda on Friday. 

Mason added eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and four blocked shots. Delana Mach recorded 11 points and eight boards. Shelby Lyons had seven points and four rebounds. Estelle Lee had seven points. Denae Mach added four points, four rebounds and four assists. 

Irene-Wakonda’s Nora O’Malley scored 17 points. Katie Knodel and Madison Orr had 10 points apiece. 


Boys basketball

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 69, Freeman 31

FREEMAN — Reed Rus logged a double-double to power Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a boys basketball win over Freeman on Friday. 

Rus finished with 31 points and 14 rebounds for the Titans. Jordan Stoltz added 13 points, five assists and five rebounds. Ryan Chapman finished with nine points, while Zach Baker had five points. Mason Hetland recorded eight rebounds and three points. 

Jacob Swensen and Justin Wollman scored seven points apiece for Freeman. Ethan Balvin added six points. 

Dream City Christian (Ariz.) 61, De Smet 57

SIOUX FALLS -- Dream City Christian (Ariz.) rallied past Class B No. 1 De Smet for a boys basketball win at the Hoophall Central Classic on Friday. 

De Smet's Kalen Garry tossed in a game-high 35 points to pace the Bulldogs. He added five rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Tory Holland added eight points and seven rebounds. Damon Wilkinson finished with seven points and eight boards. Rett Osthus finished with five points, six rebounds and three assists. 

Dream City Christian's Milos Uzan, a University of Oklahoma signee, finished with 22 points. Shawn Phillips finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jovan Milicevic had nine points and nine rebounds, while David Tubek had eight points and five rebounds. 


Winner 67, West Central 55

WINNER — Winner hit nine 3-pointers en route to a boys basketball win over West Central on Friday. 

Slade Cournoyer finished with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and five 3-pointers. Ethan Bartels posted 13 points and five rebounds. Blake Volmer finished with 12 points and eight boards. Aiden Barfuss had eight points and four rebounds. Jackson Vesely added seven points and five assists. 

West Central’s Grafton Stroup and Jacob Krempges had 14 points apiece. Braden Herr had nine points. Braden Dierickx added eight points. 

Pierre 65, Sturgis 19

PIERRE -- Pierre coasted past Sturgis for a boys basketball victory on Friday.

Pierre's Lincoln Kienholz and Jackson Edman tossed in 19 points apiece in the win. 


Hanson 62, Menno 37

MENNO — The Hanson Beavers picked up a boys basketball win over Menno on Friday.

Luke Haiar and Ethan Cheeseman each had 13 points to lead Hanson.

Menno’s Blake Rames had 12 points, while Tyler Massey recorded 10 points and five rebounds.


Redfield 51, Aberdeen Roncalli 47

REDFIELD — Redfield held off Aberdeen Roncalli for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Peyton Osborn led the Pheasants with 16 points, while Jerron Haider tallied 13 points and Nolan Gall had 10 points.

Aberdeen Roncalli’s Maddox May recorded 17 points and Keegan Stewart had 10 points.


McCook Central/Montrose 57, Howard 51

SALEM — Three players scored in double figures to push McCook Central/Montrose past Howard in boys basketball action on Friday. 

Boston Katzer led MCM with 19 points, while Micah Van Ruler added 13 points and eight boards. Gavin Gordon finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Owen Alley added five points. 

Howard’s Brayden Hinker had 12 points, six rebounds and four 3-pointers. Luke Koepsell and Kolt Koepsell had 11 points apiece. Kolt Koepsell added seven rebounds. Ryder Erickson finished with 10 points. 


Wolsey-Wessington 69, Highmore-Harrold 24

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington picked up a boys basketball win over Highmore-Harrold on Friday. 

Tate French led the Warbirds with 17 points and five rebounds. Blaze Herdman added 12 points, six rebounds and three assists. Marrien Gohn added 12 points and three assists. 


Dakota Valley 95, Canton 69

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley had four players score in double figures in a boys basketball win over Canton on Friday.

Isaac Bruns paced the Panthers with 24 points and nine rebounds. Bruns also scored his 1,000th career point in the win. Jaxson Wingert finished with 18 points, Randy Rosenquist had 16 points and five assists, and Jaxson Hennies had 10 points.

Canton was led by Derek Tieszen and Jacob Vande Weerd with 18 points each. Matt Anderson finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.


Huron 62, Watertown 47

HURON — Reilyn Zavesky and Jayden Beck both scored in double figures to lead Huron to a boys basketball win over Watertown on Friday.

Zavesky finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Beck had 16 points and 6 rebounds.

Watertown’s Drew Norberg scored a game-high 22 points, while Devon Lewis finished with nine points.


Harrisburg 69, Sioux Falls Washington 57

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures for Harrisburg as they picked up a win over Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Washington on Friday.

Ethan Determan led the Tigers with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Andrew Walter and Jacoby Mehrman had 14 points apiece. 

Sioux Falls Washington’s Joe Uttecht tallied 18 points, while Blayne Verhey finished with nine points.


Mitchell 67, Brookings 44

BROOKINGS — Three Mitchell players scored in double figures to power the Kernels to a boys basketball win over Brookings on Friday.

Caden Hinker led the Kernels with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Macon Larson added 14 points and Dylan Soulek had 13 points.

Brookings was led by Nathan Lease with 13 points and Brock Longville had 11 points.


Elkton-Lake Benton 65, Lake Preston 27

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton powered past Lake Preston for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Aiden Erickson led the Elks with 19 points, while Miles Harming had 12 points and Logan Kuehl and Ryan Krog each finished with 11 points.

For Lake Preston, Riley Casper scored 14 points, while Josh McMasters finished with 10 points.


Sioux Falls Christian 66, Elk Point-Jefferson 46

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to lead Class A No. 5 Sioux Falls Christian to a boys basketball win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Friday. Sioux Falls Christian coach Mike Schouten also recorded his 400th career coaching win. 

Brooks Nelson scored 17 points, while Ethan Bruns put in 16 points. Logan Schipper tossed in 10 points. 

EPJ’s Devon Schmitz and Chace Fornia finished with 11 points apiece. Easton Kempf scored 10 points. 


Viborg-Hurley 53, Irene-Wakonda 37

HURLEY — Hayden Gilbert netted 28 points to lead Class B No. 4 Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win over Irene-Wakonda on Friday.

GIlbert also recorded nine rebounds for the Cougars. Blake Schroedermeier finished with nine points.

Connor Libby led Irene-Wakonda with 16 points, while Miles Pollman collected seven rebounds.

 

Aberdeen Central 75, Spearfish 50

ABERDEEN -- Spencer Barr scored 26 points and hit six 3-pointers in Aberdeen Central's boys basketball win over Spearfish on Friday. 

Barr added five steals. Alec Voegele had 12 points and seven rebounds. Sam Rohlfs finished with 10 points, while A.J. Hase had eight points and four rebounds. Jackson Dorsett had six points, while Noah Behrends had five points and five rebounds. 

Spearfish's Ryan Heinert netted 18 points. Seth Hamilton finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Antonio Serrano recorded 10 points. 


Harrisburg 69, Sioux Falls Washington 57

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to lead Harrisburg to a boys basketball win over Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Washington on Friday. 

Ethan Determan finished with 18 points and seven rebounds. Andrew Walter and Jacoby Mehrman scored 14 points apiece. Gavin Aasheim added nine points, while Maxwell Knutson had six points and six rebounds.
