Todd County 67, St. Francis 51

RAPID CITY — Oniya Whirlwind Soldier and Ciante Black Spotted Horse combined for 51 points as Todd County pulled away from St. Francis in Wednesday’s boys basketball action.

Whirlwind Soldier tallied 31 points, four rebounds, four steals, three blocks and three steals in the win, Black Spotted Horse added 20 points and five steals, Kendtik Easter had eight points, seven rebounds and three steals while Rueben Iron Horse brought down nine rebounds in the win.

For SF, Roger Roether III had a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds, Jesse Rodriquez added 12 points, four rebounds and two blocks, Jermony Donner Jr had 12 points and three boards while Jordan Larvie netted seven points, five rebounds and two steals in the loss.


Pine Ridge 56, McLaughlin 23

RAPID CITY — Marvin Richard III posted 21 points during Pine Ridge’s win over McLaughlin during Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Richard III finished with 21 points, three rebounds and six steals in the win, Zaedyn Winters added eight points, Caleb Black Feather netted seven points and four boards while Apple Cloudon and Alex Bissonette each tallied five points in the win.

McLaughlin’s Tyler Bull Head had seven points and six rebounds while Lai’Ty Brown Otter added seven points and two steals in the loss.


Mahpiya Luta 85, Crow Creek 30

RAPID CITY — A Balanced scoring attack paced Mahpiya Luta past Crow Creek in boys basketball action at Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Riley Brave led the Crusaders with 13 points, Christian Jack added 12 points and seven boards, Tokeya Big Crow had eight points, four rebounds and three steals, Brayton Little, Baiden Lunderman and Fernando Montileaux each had seven points while Memphis Brewer, Okte Spotted Eagle, Hunter Big Crow and Julian Tonche all had six points apiece in the win.

For CC, Ashton Comes Flying had 12 points in the loss.


Tiospa Zina 65, Santee 29

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures as Tiospa Zina ran away from Santee in boys basketball action Wednesday.

Jeffrey Heminger Jr. led with 17 points, six rebounds and two steals, Isaac Rodlund had 14 points, five boards and three steals, Ohitika Black Thunder added 10 points and three rebounds, Devon Bluehorse had eight points, four rebounds and three steals, Blake Dumarce added seven points while Eric Jens Jr. netted six points and five boards in the win.

For Santee, Jake Staab had 10 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals, Ronald Good Teacher tallied eight points, four rebounds and two steals, Dowan Thomas had six points while Andre Denney totaled five points and four assists in the loss.


Rapid City Christian 62, White River 36

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 7 Rapid City Christian to a Lakota Nation Invitational boys basketball win on Wednesday.

Peyton Glenn finished with 19 points and five rebounds. Sully Kieffer added 16 points, while Henry Koppmann posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Hudson Ogle and Sam Lushbough scored five points apiece. 

White River’s Maddox Marshall recorded 10 points. Zayson Whipple and Kreg Stoddard scored eight points apiece. 


Wall 70, Lower Brule 32

RAPID CITY — Teelan Kjerstad’s 25 points powered Class B No. 5 Wall over Lower Brule during the Lakota Nation Invitational Wednesday.

Kjerstad tallied 25 points with seven steals and three rebounds, Trevor Schulz added 11 points and three boards, Emmet Dinger netted seven points and two stalls, Carter Sundall tallied seven points while Dawson Handcock had six points, five boards and three steals.


Marty 74, Takini 14

RAPID CITY — A balanced scoring attack paced Marty to victory over Takini in the Lakota Nation Invitational Wednesday.

Dayson Arpan had 15 points and six boards for the Braves, Steven Peters III netted 14 points and six rebounds, David Arrow III added 10 points and four steals, Greg Costello had nine points and four rebounds, Tayshaun Brewer collected six points and four rebounds while Kysin Cook had five points in the win.

For Takini, Cory Dupris collected three points and one rebound.


Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 63, Lakota Tech 40

RAPID CITY — Levi Elk Nation and Nehemiah Veaux combined for 37 points in Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s win over Lakota Tech in Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Elk Nation tallied 21 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks, Veaux added 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals while Nicholas Woods III tallied nine points and seven boards in the win.

For LT, Rylan Cuny had 12 points and four boards, Gerry Runnels tallied 11 points and six rebounds while Jacob Moeller had five points in the loss.


Little Wound 84, Omaha Nation (Neb.) 62

RAPID CITY — Riley Casey’s 37 points powered Little Wound over Omaha Nation (Neb.) during Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Casey finished with 37 points, 12 rebounds and two steals, Dylan Ferguson added 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals, Tanner High Horse had nine points and four boards while Nate Tallman added six points and four boards in the loss.

Omaha Nation’s Akesha Starlin and Kane Sheridan each had 16 points, including four steals from Starlin, Franklin Lasley tallied eight points, Red Grinnell-Lovejoy collected eight points while Dason Romo had seven points, seven rebounds and four blocks in the loss.


Crazy Horse 81, Oelrichs 15

RAPID CITY — Terrell Ashley’s 24-points guided Crazy Horse to a dominant win over Oelrichs during Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Ashley tallied 24 points, five steals and three assists, Truman Randall had 16 points while Ayden Janis-Dull Knife added 15 points in the win.

Oelrichs’ Kaeton Bear Runner netted six points in the loss.


Dupree 63, Custer 48 

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Custer in Wednesday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

For Dupree, Tre White Wolf had 17 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds, Dayson Kennedy added 16 points and five rebounds, Jayden Marshall netted 11 points and five boards while Cruz Birkeland had five points in the loss.

Brady Virtue tallied 18 points and eight rebounds to lead Custer, Zachary Copper had 15 points and four rebounds while Regen Sorenson totaled 10 points and five boards.
