Wall 78, Little Wound 70

RAPID CITY — Teelan Kjerstad’s 42-point performance lifted Class B No. 5 Wall to a Lakota Nation Invitational boys basketball win on Thursday.

Kjerstad recorded 42 points, six rebounds, four steals, three assists and three 3-pointers. Emmet Dinger added 19 points, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Dawson Handcock totaled nine points and four rebounds. Jace Mohr recorded six points and seven rebounds. 

For Little Wound, Riley Casey tossed in 37 points, grabbed seven rebounds and hit four 3-pointers. Dylan Ferguson added 13 points and seven rebounds. Nate Tallman scored eight points. Tanner High Horse scored six points. 


Mahpiya Luta 60, Todd County 46

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Mahpiya Luta to a Thursday boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Memphis Brewer and Baiden Lunderman scored 14 points apiece. Riley Brave added 10 points and Brayton Little scored eight points. Christian Jack added six points and seven rebounds. 

For Todd County, Ciante Black Spotted Horse had 18 points and five rebounds. Kendrick Easter added 17 points, eight rebounds and three rebounds. 


Pine Ridge 71, Dupree 39

RAPID CITY — Marvin Richard III powered Pine Ridge to a Lakota Nation Invitational boys basketball win on Thursday.

Richard III finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and three assists. Caleb Black Feather added 11 points and five rebounds. Talton Hawk scored seven points and grabbed seven rebounds. Zaedyn Winters and Donnie Ghost Dog recorded six points apiece. 

For Dupree, Tre White Wolf scored 15 points. Dayson Kennedy added nine points and four rebounds. Jayden Marshall scored five points. 


Crazy Horse 90, Takini 36

RAPID CITY — Terrell Ashley powered to a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Thursday. 

Ashley recorded 31 points and eight steals. Jimmy Ten Fingers recorded 13 points. Truman Randall added nine points, while Ayden Janis-Dull Knife, Daelan Doyle and Sevenson Bettelyoun scored six points apiece. Tyree Doyle totaled five points. 

For Takini, Xavier Condon finished with 17 points and five rebounds. Noah Knife finished with seven points. Cory Dupris had six points.


Tiospaye Topa 59, Santee 29

RAPID CITY — A balanced scoring attack paced Tiospaye Topa to a boys basketball victory over Santee at Thursday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Richard Smith led the Thunderhawks with 13 points and four rebounds, Lakem Traversie had 10 points, nine boards and four steals, Adan Bowker netted eight points and seven boards while Jacoby Rousseau, Andrei Hojas and Octavian Mesteth each had seven points in the win.

For Santee, Ronald Good Teacher had 17 points, six rebounds and two steals, Andre Denney had four points, five rebounds and five steals while Jake Staab totaled six points, 11 rebounds and three steals in the loss.


Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 58, Rapid City Christian 48 (OT)

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures in Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s overtime win over Class A No. 7 Rapid City Christian at Thursday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Levi Elk Nation led the Braves with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists, Kobe White and Nehemiah Veaux each had 12 points, Damien Clown netted 11 points and three rebounds while Nicholas Woods II tallied five points, seven boards, a steal and a block in the win.

For RCC, Joaquin Petrik had 14 points, Henry Koppmann tallied 10 points and 11 boards, Peyton Gienn netted 12 points and three steals while Sully Kieffer had five points, six rebounds and three steals in the loss.


White River 63, Lakota Tech 50

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures to pace White River to a Lakota Nation Invitational boys basketball win on Thursday.

Bryson One Star scored 16 points, added four rebounds and four steals. Colton Waln added 12 points. Maddox Marshall scored 11 points, hit three 3-pointers and collected three rebounds. Zayson Whipple had 10 points, grabbed four steals, added three rebounds and three 3-pointers. Jaxson Krogman had seven points and six rebounds. Mekhi Krogman had six points. 

For Lakota Tech, Braydon Poor Thunder finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Rylan Cuny had seven points and three rebounds. 


Wakpala 52, Tiospa Zina 43

RAPID CITY — Wakapala’s Tavaughn Steele and Lawrence Gooden combined for 43 points in Wakpala’s win over Tiospa Zina in Thursday’s Lakota Nation Invitational.

Steele led the team with 24 points, 12 rebounds and two assists while Gooden added 19 points, 12 boards and a steal. Bretten Wells had seven points, three rebounds and two steals in the win as well.

For TZ, Jeffrey Heminger Jr. netted 14 points, Ohitiki Black Thunder had nine points, Blake Dumarce totaled eight points while Eric Jens Jr. collected six points in the loss.


Omaha Nation (Neb.) 60, Lower Brule 49

RAPID CITY — Kane Sheridan and Dason Romo combined for 36 points to pace Omaha Nation (Neb.) to a boys basketball win at Thursday’s Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Sheridan finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Romo recorded 12 points, eight rebounds and six steals. Akesha Starlin and Franklin Lasley scored nine points apiece. 

For Lower Brule, Kristian Antelope and Ben Middletent scored 18 points apiece. Antelope added eight rebounds and Middletent hit three 3-pointers. Bradley LaForge had seven points and five rebounds. 


Marty 69, Oelrichs 22

RAPID CITY — Marty pulled past Oelrichs for a Thursday boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Tyson Cournoyer recorded 10 points, while Tyson Heart Jr., had nine points. Dayson Arpan totaled eight points and six rebounds. 

For Oelrichs, Kaeton Bear Runner scored six points.


Custer 58, McLaughlin 43

RAPID CITY — Regan Sorenson and Brady Virtue combined for 45 points in Custer’s Lakota Nation Invitational win over McLaughlin Thursday.

Sorenson led the Wildcats with 23 points and seven rebounds, Virtue added 22 points and 10 boards while Mason Dirkes had five points, seven rebounds and six assists in the win.

For McLaughlin, Tyler Bull Head had 19 points, John Eagle Jr. netted 11 points while Laity Brown Otter had five points, seven rebounds and two blocks in the loss.


St. Francis Indian 70, Crow Creek 55

RAPID CITY — Jeremony Donner Jr., Jesse Rodriquez and Roger Roether III combined for 56 points in St. Francis Indian’s win over Crow Creek Thursday.

Donner Jr. led with 28 points and four assists in the win, Jesse Rodriquez had 14 points and 12 rebounds while Roether III collected 14 points and nine boards. Ebron Red Thomahawk had seven points as well.

For CC, Justin St. John had 15 points, six rebounds and four steals, Jevyaun Dion added eight points, Domitrius St. Pierre collected seven points while Trey Ross had five points in the loss.
