Jones County 66, Langford Area 65

HURON — Bryer Kinsley erupted for 40 points and hit the game-winning three-pointer to lift Jones County over Langford Area at the Huron Holiday Classic Tuesday.

Kinsley finished with 40 points on 15-of-25 shooting with five rebounds and five steals in the win, Dawson Hunt added 11 points and five rebounds while Bodie Whitney and Luke Lolley each had seven points, combining for 10 rebounds in the win.

For LA, Kassen Keough had 32 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists, Graydon Hurley had 15 points and two rebounds, Dylan Harmon had eight points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals while Eli Samson and Case Reints each had five points in the loss for the Lions.


Chamberlain 43, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 42

HURON — Chamberlain outlasted Sanborn Central-Woonsocket in boys basketball action during Tuesday’s Huron Holiday Classic.

Chamberlain’s stats were not reported.

For SCW, McCoy Schultz led the Blackhawks with 25 points and four rebounds, Grant Edwards added seven points, four rebounds and four steals while Will Simonds and Sam Baruth each had three points in the loss.


Viborg-Hurley 57, Leola/Frederick Area 42

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 3 Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win at Tuesday’s Huron Classic. 

VH’s Brady Schroedermeier finished with 24 points, while Lincoln Vannorsdel had 12 points. Braydyn Morrison had 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Nolan Kolthoff had six points.

For LFA, Westyn Thorpe scored 14 points and Winston Clark added nine points. Jace Thorpe finished with seven points and Milo Sumption added six points.


Howard 52, Lower Brule 42

HURON — Howard outscored Lower Brule 19-7 in the fourth quarter to earn a boys basketball victory at the Huron Holiday Classic Tuesday.

Caden Schwader led the Tigers with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals, Kolt Becker added 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, Owen Feldhaus had 10 points and three rebounds while Brody Spader collected seven points in the win.

For LB, Bradley LaForge had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Kristian Antelope added 14 points, four rebounds and three steals while Nate Middletent collected six points and six rebounds in the loss.


James Valley Christian 70, Burke 61

HURON — Noah Fast’s 33-point day powered James Valley Christian over Burke at the Huron Holiday Classic Tuesday.

Fast finished with 33 points, six rebounds and four steals in the win, Jayven Van Scharrel added 11 points and 12 boards, Jonah Neiderbaumer had seven points, Keeghann Hood had six points while Kolby Vanderwerff collected five points and five rebounds in the win.

For Burke, Brody Indahl scored a team-high 23 points with four rebounds, Ryggan Lambley had 13 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals, Bryson Indahl added 11 points and six rebounds while Masen Hausmann had seven points and six rebounds in the loss.


Deubrook Area 76, Garretson 57

WHITE — Chance Schoenfeld erupted for a school-record 40 points in a Deubrook Area boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Schoenfeld’s 40-point outing broke a 37-year-old school record for points in a game. Maurice 'Mo' Petersen (39) set the record in the 1986-87 season. 

Braxton Bednarek finished with 15 points, while Carter Schulte added six points. Joshua Moberg had five points.

For Garretson, Jackson Arend finished with 19 points and Carter Siemonsma added 13 points. Colton Buckholz had nine points and Shea Smidt added five points. 


Castlewood 74, Arlington 32

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 1 Castlewood to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Castlewood’s Kamden Keszler finished with 20 points, while Leonard Wernke had 10 points and seven rebounds. Brody Bass added 15 points and Will Aderhold posted nine points. Trevor Everson scored five points.

For Arlington, Miles Antonen finished with 14 points. Max Josephson and Paxton Rheault scored six points apiece.


Parkston 64, Sisseton 58

PARKSTON — Brycen Bruening powered Parkston to a boys basketball win at Tuesday’s Parkston Classic.

Bruening finished with 31 points, while Mason Jervik added 12 points and six rebounds. Sean Deckert had eight rebounds. 

For Sisseton, Derrick Flute and Levi Nelson finished with 13 points apiece. Brett Hansen added 12 points. 


Waubay-Summit 56, Tri-State (N.D.) 24

SUMMIT — A balanced scoring attack paced Waubay-Summit to a boys basketball victory Tuesday.

Teegan Gaikowski led the Mustangs with 13 points, Hogan Hlavacek and Jace Wohleber each had 12 points, Newton Campbell scored eight points while McKoy Pereboom added six points in the win.


Groton Area 63, Webster Area 42

GROTON — Three players scored in double figures to power Class A No. 6 Groton Area to a boys basketball win over Webster Area on Tuesday. 

Groton Area’s Ryder Johnson finished with 13 points, while Keegen Tracy and Karson Zak scored 10 points apiece. Gage Sippel had eight points and five rebounds. Easton Weber scored eight points. Becker Bosma added seven points. 

For Webster Area, Matt Mount scored 13 points. Seth Lesnar finished with seven points. Jack Shoemaker, Jeron McCreary and Sheldon Schmeig scored six points apiece. Gage Wik had five points. 


Dakota Valley 83, Platte-Geddes 49

PARKSTON — Tatum Sorensen’s 21-point double-double powered Class A No. 9 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball victory Tuesday over Platte-Geddes at the Parkston Classic.

Sorensen led with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Aaron Bruns added 11 points in the win.

For PG, Isaac Leader had 17 points and four rebounds, Jameson Leader tallied 14 points and five rebounds, Jye Bailey added eight points, Ziggy Duffy recorded seven points while Hayes DeVries netted four rebounds in the loss.

Groton Area 51, Lemmon 47

ABERDEEN — Four players scored in double figures to power Groton Area to a girls basketball win at the Buffalo Wild Wings Showcase on Tuesday. 

Groton Area’s Taryn Traphagen finished with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jaedyn Penning posted 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Rylee Dunker totaled 11 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Jerica Locke had 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals. 

Lemmon stats were not reported.


Parkston 56, Corsica-Stickney 47

PARKSTON — Keeara Oakley’s 26 points powered Class B No. 4 Parkston over Class B No. 9 Corsica-Stickney in a top-ranked girls basketball matchup at the Parkston Classic Tuesday.

Oakley tallied 26 points, six rebounds and four steals in the win, Berkley Ziebart added 14 points and three steals, Morgan Maxwell had eight points while Alexis Holzbauer netted six points in the win.

For CS, Sophie DeLange tallied 16 points and eight rebounds, Hadynn Johnson collected 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals while Remi Nelson netted eight points and two assists in the loss.


Deubrook Area 56, Garretson 16

WHITE — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 10 Deubrook Area to a girls basketball win over Garretson on Tuesday. 

Deubrook Area’s Mataya Gouws finished with 12 points and Peyton Trooien totaled 11 points. Matte Bauman scored 10 points. Kylee Johnson had eight points and Clare Jorenby added five points.

For Garretson, Ava Ockenga recorded five points.


Viborg-Hurley 28, Platte-Geddes 24

PARKSTON — Viborg-Hurley outlasted Platte-Geddes during Tuesday’s Parkston Classic.

VH’s stats were not reported.

For PG, Kori VanDerWerff had 10 points and 14 points while Taylor Shrank added six points in the loss.


Dakota Valley 62, McCook Central-Montrose 45

PARKSTON — Katie Betsworth’s 20 point game guided Class A No. 5 Dakota Valley over McCook Central-Montrose Tuesday at the Parkston Classic.

Betsworth finished with 20 points and six rebounds, Alexa Verdoorn added nine points while Izzy Carreau had eight points in the win.

For MCM, Ella Deknikker had 11 points and five rebounds, Brooke Heumiller added 11 points, Natalie Lueth netted nine points and four rebounds while Cami McGuire added seven points and four rebounds in the loss.


Arlington 48, Castlewood 36

ARLINGTON — Jaelyn Huntimer exploded for a 25-point double-double in Arlington’s girls basketball win over Castlewood Tuesday.

Huntimer finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds, Emarie Vincent added six points, Lauryn Mutziger had six points and three rebounds while Sony Johnson had eight points and 12 rebounds in the win.

For Castlewood, Sophia Kudrna led the Warriors with 13 points and six rebounds, Claire Horn added nine points and three assists, Cydni Kudrna netted seven points, six rebounds and two assists while Ava Ruml brought down 13 rebounds in the loss.


Waubay-Summit 60, Tri-State (N.D.) 21

SUMMIT — Addison Heinje poured in 23 points as Waubay-Summit earned a girls basketball victory Tuesday.

Heinje led the Mustangs with 23 points in the win, Liza Purdy added 12 points, Caley Bolk had eight points while Brynlee Amdahl added seven points in the win.
