Elk Point-Jefferson 44, Gettysburg 40

MITCHELL — Elk Point-Jefferson clipped Gettysburg in boys basketball action during Wednesday’s Hoop City Classic. 

EPJ’s Jack Hayes finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Aiden Hammitt totaled eight points, while Luke Schmitz recorded seven points and five rebounds. Anthony Tatro posted six points and five rebounds. Tanner Nieman and Brody VanRoekel had five points apiece.

For Gettysburg, Jack Simon and Jerand Chase scored 14 points apiece. Simon added 10 boards. 


Jonesboro (Georgia) 60, Lennox 33

MITCHELL — Jonesboro (Ga.) jumped out to a 41-14 halftime lead en route to a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Wednesday.

Jonesboro’s Calvin Goss finished with 17 points and three steals. Frank Jackson added 13 points and four rebounds. Cortez Redding totaled nine points, four rebounds and four assists. 

For Lennox, Aiden Hanssen finished with 19 points, four rebounds, three 3-pointers and three assists. Tate Gerdes scored five points. 


West Central 85, Lakota Tech 17

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to power Class A No. 2 West Central to a boys basketball win at Wednesday’s Hoop City Classic.

West Central’s Hayden Heier finished with 20 points, three rebounds, three steals and three 3-pointers. Connor Mebius had 13 points, four steals and three rebounds. Carter Gross totaled 13 points, three assists and three rebounds. Braden Ockenga totaled 10 points and five steals. Will Kuhl finished with eight points, three assists and three rebounds. Kolte Garry and Peyton Tetzlaff scored six points apiece.

For Lakota Tech, Jacob Moeller finished with nine points. 


Harrisburg 61, Aberdeen Central 31

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to power Class AA No. 5 Harrisburg to a boys basketball win at Wednesday’s Hoop City Classic.

Harrisburg’s Stellen Larson finished with a game-high 17 points and five rebounds. David Doe added 13 points and four rebounds. Crayton Jibben totaled 10 points. Cole Koolker and Myles Nour scored six points apiece. 

For Aberdeen Central, Brenner Waldrop posted nine points. Carter Board added six points and three rebounds. Bryson Burgard and Turner Bergen scored five points apiece. 


Mitchell 54, Sisseton 40

MITCHELL — Two players scored in double figures to power Mitchell to a girls basketball win at Wednesday’s Hoop City Classic.

Mitchell’s Addie Siemsen finished with 23 points, six assists and five rebounds. CeCe Morgan added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Londyn Hajek totaled nine points and three rebounds. 

For Sisseton, Piper Langager finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Saylor Langager added nine points and seven rebounds. Elliot Hortness recorded seven points and six rebounds.
