Dec. 10 Girls Basketball Roundup - Stanley County tops Chamberlain in Tuesday action

Stanley County 36, Chamberlain 20

CHAMBERLAIN — Stanley County pulled away from Chamberlain for a high school girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Stanley County’s Camryn Norman finished with 10 points. Breckyn Huebner added eight points. JoRayah Walker scored six points.

For Chamberlain, Libbie Gullickson scored eight points and Natalie Nelson had seven points.  

 

Waubay-Summit 50, Webster Area 45 (OT)

WAUBAY — Waubay-Summit outlasted Webster Area for an overtime girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Waubay-Summit’s Faith Larson posted 21 points and Liza Purdy recorded 14 points. Peyton Rumpza had seven points and Brianna Lindholm finished with six points.

For Webster Area, Harley Johnson had 13 points. Erin Sannes posted 10 points. Allie Case finished with six points. Chloe Mammenga had six points.

 

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 50, McCook Central/Montrose 36

SALEM — Reagan Rus paced Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a high school girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Rus finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and scored her 1,000th career point. Taryn Hegg added 11 points and four rebounds. Alyssa Johnson and Brooklyn Bosma had five points apiece. Bosma added five rebounds. Madalynn Lorang collected nine rebounds. 

For MCM, Ella DeKnikker had nine points and six rebounds. Mya Morrison scored eight points. Mandi Schock tallied six points, while Cami McQuire recorded six rebounds and four points. 

 

Arlington 50, Howard 39

HOWARD — Jaelyn Huntimer powered Arlington to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Huntimer poured in 37 points for the Cardinals.

Howard’s Liz Albrecht had 12 points. Tana Hoyer recorded nine points, while Ann Connor tallied seven points.


Sisseton 46, Great Plains Lutheran 26

WATERTOWN — Krista Langager and Alexia Quinn combined for 31 points to pace Sisseton to a high school girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Langager finished with 18 points, while Quinn added 13 points. Tara Nelson posted eight points.

For GPL, Madeline Prahl scored 11 points. Katherine Prahl had six points and Abby Kjenstad added five points.

 

Belle Fourche 56, Lead-Deadwood 22

LEAD — The Belle Fourche Broncs opened the 2024-25 season with a win at Lead-Deadwood Tuesday night in Lead.

The Lady Broncs won 56-22 over the Golddiggers. Belle Fourche (1-0) returns to action Friday at home against Spearfish. Lead-Deadwood (0-1) will host Harding County Saturday afternoon. 

Dakota Valley 61, Lennox 59

LENNOX — Dakota Valley clipped Lennox in Tuesday high school girls basketball action. 

Dakota Valley’s Cameryn Sommervold finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ella Otten added 11 points. 

For Lennox, Ryan Hanssen had 24 points and five boards. Andie Peters recorded 14 points, while Libby Kranz had 12 points and six rebounds. 


Scotland-Menno 44, Bridgewater-Emery 36

MENNO — Scotland-Menno flipped a two-point halftime deficit into an eight-point girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Scotland-Menno’s Lexi McNinch posted 12 points and eight rebounds, while Ellyana Ulmer had eight points. Trinity Bietz had 13 rebounds. 

For Bridgewater-Emery, Oakley Weber scored 16 points and Hayden Hofer added 11 points.
