Tiospaye Topa 55, Crow Creek 46 

RAPID CITY — Tiospaye Topa captured the girls Makosica championship at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Tiospaye Topa’s Tyrianna Hawk Bear finished with 23 points and eight rebounds. Leilani Bowker added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Pamela Meeter had nine points and eight rebounds. Cadence Bernie had seven points and eight rebounds. 

For Crow Creek, Justine Dog Eagle had 17 points and six rebounds. Allison Wells recorded 11 points. Laila Marshall had seven points and six rebounds. Jordyn McBride and Mary Dion had five points apiece. Dion had nine rebounds.


Mahpiya Luta 62, Rapid City Christian 31

RAPID CITY — Class A No. 5 Mahpiya Luta captured the girls Oceti Sakowin championship at the Lakota Nation Invitational Saturday.

Jodene Big Crow-Hunter led the way with 20 points, three rebounds and three steals, Ashlan Carlow-Blount tallied 12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals, Essence Tobacco recorded 10 points and four rebounds, Mya Mills had nine points and three rebounds, while Dorthie Mesteth had five points and three rebounds in the win.

RCC’s Sadie Marshall recorded 10 points and four rebounds, Nora Kieffer had seven points and five rebounds, Brynn Casey totaled five points and four rebounds, while Nia Selfridge tallied five points and five rebounds in the loss.


Pine Ridge 36, Tiospa Zina 32

RAPID CITY — Pine Ridge captured the girls He Sapa championship at the Lakota Nation Invitational Saturday.

Mia Long Visitor had 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals, Diana Long Visitor recorded nine points and 12 rebounds, Mia Morrison had six points, nine rebounds and four steals, while Tina Sierra tallied five points, four rebounds and four steals in the win.

TZ’s Latice Rodlund totaled seven points, seven rebounds and nine steals, while Harmony Rodlund, Caden Smith and Journee Haley each had six points in the loss.


Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 58, Lower Brule 55 

RAPID CITY — Suni Bowman powered Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to a third-place finish in the Makosica girls bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Bowman finished with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Jailynn Knife added eight points and 12 rebounds. Dakotta Longbrake recorded eight points. Gracelynn Landreaux added six points and four rebounds. Tommi Chasing Hawk posted five rebounds and four points. 

For Lower Brule, Lael Middletent had 21 points and four rebounds. Brilyn LaRoche added 19 points and seven rebounds. Shante Walters recorded six points. Harper Bien had five points. 


Little Wound 51, Todd County 44 

RAPID CITY — Little Wound claimed fith place in the Makosica girls bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Little Wound’s Tahca Zephier recorded 19 points and three steals. Deandra Iron Cloud posted 17 points, five rebounds, three 3-pointers and three steals. Briley Ferguson had seven points.

For Todd County, Gabrielle Kenny posted 12 points. Savanna Stands On Top added nine points and 11 rebounds. Trinity Bettelyoun scored eight points. 


Marty 44, Dupree 42

RAPID CITY — Marty edged Dupree for seventh place in the Makosica girls bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Marty’s Promise Holiday finished with nine points and eight rebounds. Zoe Waln logged eight points and five rebounds. Keyvarri Vasek had seven points and six rebounds. Aalayah Rouse logged six points.

For Dupree, Charly Etzkorn recorded 13 points and six boards. Jaysie Starr tallied five points and 12 rebounds. Maddilynn Red Bear posted eight points. Minda Woodward had six points and six rebounds. Kayclynn Young had five points and six rebounds. 


McLaughlin 43, Custer 38 

RAPID CITY — McLaughlin clipped Custer for seventh place in the girls Oceti Sakowin bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

McLaughlin’s Mari Richards finished with 14 points and 10 boards. Lakeitha Weasel logged 12 points. Raegin Yellow Earrings added nine points, while Sandee Steele posted eight points. 

Custer’s Jordyn Uphoff had 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Kylee Ellerton added eight points. Jordyn Larsen recorded even points and Siena Schultz 


Lakota Tech 56, Wall 41 

RAPID CITY — Lakota Tech captured third place in the Oceti Sakowin girls bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Lakota Tech’s Lizzie Robinson recorded 21 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three 3-pointers. Shania Ferguson scored 14 points and four rebounds. Angeliyah Big Boy posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Isabella Shangreaux had seven rebounds and three points. 

For Wall, Karmyn Kjerstad posted 12 points and six steals. Allie Kjerstad logged 10 points and four steals. Brittney Walker posted eight points and nine rebounds. 


Oelrichs 57, Crazy Horse 44 

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Oelrichs to a seventh-place finish in the He Sapa bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday. 

Isabella Her Many Horses recorded 34 points and 13 rebounds. Nalolah Warrior added 10 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Kate Her Many Horses posted 12 points and 10 rebounds. Mylieh Blacksmith recorded 12 rebounds. 

Crazy Horse’s Leanna Red Elk posted 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Laila Clairmont finished with 17 points and five steals. Reelly Frazier finished with eight points and five rebounds. 


Santee (Neb.) 59, Wakpala 37

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Santee claimed third place in the girls He Sapa bracket Saturday.

Talia Saunsoci tallied 17 points and six rebounds, Miley Pike had 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, Alexis Red Owl recorded 13 points, three rebounds and six steals, while Aubrinee Tuttle totaled 10 points, four rebounds and five steals in the win.

Wakpala’s Tylene Hawk Bear recorded 17 points, seven rebounds and seven steals, Danica Demarrias had seven points, three rebounds and three steals, while Tayana Howard collected four points and five rebounds in the loss.


St. Francis 59, Takini 12

RAPID CITY — Lesleen Makes Room For them totaled 16 points as St. Francis claimed 5th place in the girls He Sapa bracket at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Makes Room For Them tallied 16 points, six rebounds and six steals, Angelique Romero had 10 points and six steals, Cali O’Rourke totaled nine points and six rebounds, while Wakil Najin Win White Hat totaled nine points and two rebounds in the win.

Takini’s Sophia Brings Plenty tallied five points and seven rebounds, while Aneisha Hayes had four points and six rebounds in the loss.
