Douglas girls, Custer boys win team titles at Eldon Knudson cross-country meet

CUSTER — The Douglas girls and Custer boys each won team titles at Thursday’s Eldon Knudson meet run at the Rocky Knolls Country Club. 

The Douglas girls had two runners, Aurora Evans and Kira Ubence, in the top-six and won the team title with 26 points, ahead of Custer (39) and Little Wound (59).

The Custer boys had two runners in the top five, Sean Shipp and Austin Dean, winning the title with 39 points, ahead of Belle Fourche (66) and Rapid City Christian (87). Newcastle, Wyoming (103) and Rapid City Central (114) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Individually Belle Fourche eighth-grader Lia Mundt won the girls race (20:48), ahead of Rapid City Christian’s Taylor Harrelson (21:16) and Evans (21:49). Sean Shipp of Custer won the boys race (17:22) ahead of Belle Fourche’s Lennon Clarkson (17:40) and Rapid City Christian’s Lionel Hinson (18:13).
