Ethan/Parkston sweeps team titles at Platte-Geddes Relays

PLATTE — The Ethan/Parkston track and field teams swept the team titles at Saturday’s Platte-Geddes Relays.

The Ethan/Parkston boys scored 136 points to take the team title, ahead of Gregory (115) and Platte-Geddes, while the girls team ran away with the championship with 163 points, ahead of Platte-Geddes (89) and Lyman (77).

On the boys side, Ethan/Parkston’s Mark Deckert ran personal bests in the 100-meter dash (:10.88) and 200-meter dash (:22.36) to win both events.

Platte-Geddes’ Ziggy Duffy won the 400-meter dash (:54:96).

Mitchell Christian’s Silas Holdeman captured the 800-meter run (2:01.87) while teammate Luke Mentele won the 1,600-meter race (4:36.75).

Gregory’s Luke Barreto won the 3,200-meter run (10:38.20).

Ethan/Parkston’s Carson Johnson won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.61).

Gregory’s Colt Keiser secured the 300-meter hurdles (:41.17).

Gregory’s David Biggins, Pierce Stukel, Landon Keiser and Colt Keiser captured the 400-meter relay (:44.51).

Ethan/Parkston’s Burke Nuebel, Mason Jervik, Sean Deckert and Mark Deckert won the 800-meter relay (1:35.12).

Winner’s Ryken Kaup, Hudson Peters, Jalen Tideman and Tayden Pechota secured the 1,600-meter relay (3:42.21).

Irene/Wakonda’s Tristin Llewelyn, Noah Hansen Christian Putman and Jordan Stockland won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (4:02.21).

In the field events, Irene-Wakonda’s Cain Healy won the shot put (49-05).

Winner’s Jaxon Day captured the discus throw (173-04).

Gregory’s Aiden Frasch secured the javelin throw (145-06).

Gregory’s Avery Sengelmann won the high jump event (6-00).

IW’s Stockland secured the pole vault event (11-06).

Ethan/Parkston’s Mason Jervik won the long jump (22-04.00) while teammate Sean Deckert secured the triple jump title (43-05.00).

On the girls’ side, Bon Homme’s Taycee Ranek won the 100-meter dash (:13.23)

Lyman’s Brooke Montgomery secured the 200-meter dash (:25.92), 400-meter dash (1:03.77) and also won the long jump title (16-03.25).

Platte-Geddes’ Taylor Schrank secured the 800-meter run (2:28.69).

Bon Homme’s Claire Guthmiller won the 1,600-meter run (5:41.75).

Irene-Wakonda’s Ava George secured the 3,200-meter run (12:24.80).

Ethan/Parkston’s Taziah Hawkins captured the 100-meter hurdles (:15.83) and took second in the 300-meter hurdles (:48.84).

Gregory’s Asia VanDerWerff won the 300-meter hurdles (:47.89).

Ethan/Parkston’s Rachel Klock, Morgan Maxwell, Emelia Tapio and Marissa Storm won the 400-meter relay (:53.37), the 800-meter relay (1:52.60) and the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (4:38.43).

Platte-Geddes’ Schrank, Lillian Norden, Braelyn Qualm and Kori VanDerWerff won the 1,600-meter relay (4:28.77).

Ethan/Parkston's Aaliyah Lewis won the shot put event (32-06.00) while Kahris Tapio took the discus throw (114-03) for E/P.

Gregory’s Dani VanDerWerff captured the javelin throw (132-04).

Lyman’s Aspen Volmer won the high jump title (4-10).

PG’s Claire Maydew secured the pole vault title (9-00).

Ethan/Parkston’s Piper Reichert won the triple jump event (32-00.00).
