BURKE — Parkston’s Evan Bartelt and Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans won their respective races at Monday’s Southeast South Dakota Conference meet contested on the Burke Golf Course. 

Bartelt ran the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes and 1.32 seconds, ahead of Winner’s Joseph Laprath (18:37) and Gregory’s Finn Adams (18:50). Platte-Geddes eighth-grader Walter Graesser (18:54) and Hudson Schmidt (19:21) rounded out the top-five finishers. 

Evans won the conference meet with a time of 19:53, ahead of teammate Kylah Biggins (20:58) and Ethan/Parkston’s Ella Pollreisz (21:09). Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips (21:13) and Aine Graesser (22:19) rounded out the top-five finishers. 

Mount Vernon/Plankinton won the boys team competition with 17 points, just ahead of Ethan/Parkson (18) and Gregory (22). Platte-Geddes (37) and Chamberlain (42) were Monday’s top-five team finishers. 

The Chamberlain girls looked strong Monday winning the meet with a score of seven points, ahead of Ethan/Parkston (26) and Burke (43). Gregory (45) and Platte-Geddes (46) were the top-five team finishers.
