Faulkton Area girls, Gregory boys win Cecil Johnson Invite titles

PRESHO — The Faulkton Area girls and Gregory boys won team titles at Thursday’s Cecil Johnson Invitational.

The Faulkton Area girls recorded 95 points, finishing ahead of Kimball/White Lake (85) and Wall (69). The Gregory boys logged 102 points, finishing ahead of Philip (86.5) and Miller (58).

In girls action, Faulkton Area’s Carley Cotton was a double winner in the 100-meter hurdles (:17.18) and 300-meter hurdles (:51.55). 

Faulkton Area’s Savanna Hayes won the shot put (32-10), discus (111-6) and finished second in the javelin (102-1). Kelli Stoecker won the triple jump (32-4.5) for the Trojans. 

The Faulkton Area girls also won the 3,200-meter relay (11:00.69). 

Kimball/White Lake’s Autumn Baker (5:31.49), Lily Baker (5:41.38) and Alli McCord (5:58.77) finished first-through-third, respectively, in the 1,600-meter run. Lily Baker won the 800-meter run (2:32.77). 

Winner’s Daisy McIntrye won the 100-meter dash (:13.41) and was a member of the winning 400-meter relay (:52.31). Winner’s Keelie Kuil won the 200-meter dash (:26.13) and was on the 400-meter relay team. Kuil also ran the lead leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:28.21). 

Wall’s Nora Dinger won the long jump (17-2.25) and ran the lead legs on the winning 800-meter relay (1:52.13) and sprint medley relay (4:41.72). 

In boys action, Gregory’s Luke Stukel won the 100-meter dash (:11.58) and ran the anchor leg on the winning 400-meter relay (:45.32). 

Gregory’s Colt Keiser (6-3) and Daniel Mitchell (6-3) placed first and second, respectively, in the high jump. 

Gregory’s Jhett Eklund captured a first-place finish in the triple jump (40-9.5). 

White River’s Ethan Watson won the shot put (54-9.75), while Kadoka Area’s Lincoln Koehn (48-11.5) placed second. Koehn won the discus throw with a heave of 157-8. 

Wall’s Dawson Handcock earned a first-place finish in the long jump (20-9) and was a member of the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:36.97).
