PRESHO — Philip pulled away from Lyman for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Josie Jones led the Scotties with 19 points. Ember Gabriel and Copper Lurz scored 11 points apiece. Allison Williams scored seven points. 

Lyman’s Skyler Volmer tossed in 19 points. Mak Scott logged eight points.

Sully Buttes 61, Mobridge-Pollock 50

ONIDA — Three players scored in double figures as Sully Buttes picked up a girls basketball win over Mobridge-Pollock on Thursday.

Stevie Wittler led the Chargers with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Allyson Wittler scored 13 points and dished out four assists. Tailynn Bradford added 12 points, while Lydia Hill scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. Addison Chicoine had 12 rebounds, nine points and five assists. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Mariah Goehring finished with 19 points, while Emma Keller had eight points. Landyn Henderson added six points and five rebounds. Charley Henderson logged five points. 


Potter County 60, Timber Lake 54

GETTYSBURG — Potter County outlasted Timber Lake for a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Potter County’s Ashlee Kaup finished with 23 points, while Tyler Simon netted 21 points. Kayden Cronin logged eight points and grabbed 16 boards. Kirstie Lake recorded five points, four assists and four rebounds.

Timber Lake’s Carlie Lawrence logged 25 points, grabbed five rebounds and hit four 3-pointers. Maci Maher recorded nine points and eight rebounds. Jasmine Nash finished with seven points and five rebounds. McKenzie Vomacka added six points and four rebounds, while Kendyl Locken added five rebounds. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 41, Freeman Academy/Marion 28

FREEMAN — Andes Central/Dakota Christian jumped out to a 17-2 first-quarter lead and defeated Freeman Academy/Marion in girls basketball action on Thursday. 

Allison Muckey finished with 20 points, six rebounds and five steals. Josie Brouwer posted eight points, while Lexie VanderPol added six rebounds. Halle Olson had five rebounds. 

FAM’s Estelle Waltner finished with nine points, seven rebounds and seven steals. Jada Koerner added eight points and 10 boards. Alivea Weber handed out four assists. 


Parkston 57, Freeman 34

PARKSTON — Abby Hohn and Faith Oakley combined for 35 points and 17 rebounds to power Parkston to a girls basketball win over Freeman on Thursday.

Hohn led the Trojans with 22 points, six rebounds and four assists. Oakley added 13 points and 11 boards. Brielle Bruening added nine points. 

Freeman’s Kate Miller posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Ashlin Jacobsen finished with eight points, while Erin Uecker added five points. 


Wilmot 45, Ipswich 23

WILMOT — Three players scored in double figures to lift Wilmot to a girls basketball win over Ipswich on Thursday. 

Madeline Redmund logged 15 points, while Marissa Getzlaff and Paris Red Thunder had 10 points apiece. Addison Heinje had seven points. 

Ipswich’s Ashlyn Weig recorded nine points and Katie Bierman had seven points. 


Milbank 38, Groton Area 35

MILBANK — Milbank clipped Groton Area in girls basketball action on Thursday. 

Milbank’s Tyra Berry finished with 11 points, while Isabella Anderson logged 10 points. Maurina Street finished with nine points and 10 boards. Claire Snaza added five points. 

Groton Area’s Sydney Leicht and Brooke Gengerke scored eight points apiece. Alyssa Locke had seven points, while Aspen Johnson added eight rebounds. 


Centerville 35, Menno 26

CENTERVILLE — Centerville outlasted Menno in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Lillie Eide led the Tornadoes with nine points, while Keira Austin scored six points. Mikayla Heesch and Sophie Eide each scored five points.

Menno’s Paityn Huber scored eight points and five rebounds, while Ashton Massey added six points and six rebounds.


James Valley Christian 63, Arlington 57

ARLINGTON — Three players scored in double figures to lift James Valley Christian to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Kanilyn Wieting finished with 21 points and five rebounds. Brenna Held added 14 points and six rebounds. Alexa Goertz recorded 10 points and four assists. Kaylie Robinson posted eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Josalyn Wipf posted six points and five rebounds, while Abby Hasart had six rebounds. 

Arlington’s Addalyn Steffensen scored 22 points. Hadley Carlson and Grace Parry scored nine points apiece, while Carlson added seven rebounds. Harley Johnson posted eight points, while Ellisyn Vincent had five points. 


Tri-Valley 49, Lennox 47

LENNOX — Tri-Valley edged Lennox for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Tri-Valley’s Ava Pearson scored 14 points, while Paige Jewett added 10 points.

Lennox’s Drew Kuyper added 19 points and seven rebounds. Andie Peterson posted 11 points.

Boys basketball

Lyman 62, Philip 42

PRESHO — Lyman pulled away from Philip for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Colton Collins led Lyman with 18 points. Toby Estes, Jacob Sazue and Stockton McClanahan logged eight points apiece. Sam McClanahan and Isaac Thomas scored six points apiece. 

Philip’s Sam Hand scored 13 points. Layton Terkildsen and Bryce Westby added 10 points apiece. 


Lakota Tech 79, Lower Brule 73 

PINE RIDGE — Lakota Tech held off Class B No. 3 Lower Brule for a boys basketball victory on Thursday.

Marvin Richard III led the way with 20 points, while Quincy Means added 11 points. Jordan Whirlwind Horse netted 11 points. 

Lower Brule’s Keshaume Thigh scored 20 points, while Gavin Thigh added 19 points. Ellwyn Langdeau scored 13 points and Brian LaRoche Jr., netted 12 points. 


De Smet 56, Wolsey-Wessington 32

DE SMET — Kalen Garry poured in 31 points and recorded his 2,000th career point as Class B No. 1 De Smet rolled to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Garry added 13 rebounds and hit four 3-pointers. Rett Osthus recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four 3-pointers. Tory Holland logged seven points and Blake Van Regenmorter grabbed seven rebounds.  

Wolsey-Wessington’s Payson Gohn finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Carson Zomer added eight points, while Tate French had six points and five boards. Marrien Gohn added five boards and four points. 

 

White River 88, Stanley County 57

WHITE RIVER — Three White River players scored 20 or more points to power the Class B No. 2 Tigers to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Joe Sayler led the Tigers with 23 points and six rebounds. Nicolas Marshall recorded 21 points and three rebounds. Dylan Marshall added 20 points and 10 assists.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 54, Howard 38

HOWARD — Dell Rapids St. Mary outscored Howard 16-3 in the fourth quarter to secure a boys basketball win on Thursday.

C.J. Smith led the Cardinals with 18 points and hit four 3-pointers. John Pica scored 11 points and Nic Gaspar finished with 10 points. Dylan Mathis scored eight points. 

Howard’s Luke Koepsell and Kolt Koepsell scored 10 points apiece. Ryder Erickson and Brayden Hinker added eight points apiece. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 63, Ethan 50

ETHAN — Three players scored in double figures to lift Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a boys basketball win over Ethan on Thursday. 

Jordan Stoltz led MVP with 17 points, while Reed Rus finished with 15 points, 15 rebounds and four assists. Zach Baker added 13 points, while Lincoln Klooz had six points and Mason Hetland scored five points. 


Hamlin 69, Sisseton 49

SISSETON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Hamlin to a boys basketball win over Hamlin on Thursday.

Evan Stormo netted 19 points and hit five 3-pointers, Tyson Stevenson added 17 points. Neuendorf added 14 points and drilled three 3-pointers. Brennan Keszler recorded nine points and Luke Fraser scored five points.

Sisseton’s Riley Brave Bull scored 19 points and Ty Langager scored 14 points. Mikah Hamm added six points. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 62, Britton-Hecla 58 (OT)

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen Roncalli outlasted Britton-Hecla in a boys basketball overtime contest on Thursday. 

Maddox Miller led the Cavaliers with 18 points, while Maddox May added 15 points. Keegan Stewart scored 13 points and Aiden Fischer scored eight points.

Aidan Fredrickson scored a game-high 26 points, while BoDell Davidson and Dawson Treeby scored 13 points apiece. 


Groton Area 66, Milbank 45

MILBANK — Three players scored in double figures as Groton Area picked up a boys basketball win over Milbank on Thursday.

Groton Area’s Kaden Kurtz and Tate Larson each scored 16 points. Larson also grabbed seven rebounds. Lane Tietz tallied 14 points. Jayden Zak, Jacob Zak, and Cole Simon added five points apiece.

Milbank’s Wylie Mursu scored 13 points and six rebounds, while Garrett Mertens recorded nine points. Bennett Schwenn and Joe Schulte each contributed seven points. 


Chamberlain 48, Bridgewater-Emery 41

EMERY — Chamberlain outlasted Bridgewater-Emery in boys basketball action on Thursday.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Sam Hofer scored 15 points, while Sutton Arend added 11 points and seven boards. 


Corsica-Stickney 58, Freeman 34

FREEMAN — Corsica-Stickney raced past Freeman for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Taven Burke led the Jaguars with 15 points, while Tyson Wentland tallied 13 points, six blocks, and four assists. Robert Nichols recorded eight points and eight rebounds, while Kane Knudson added seven points and four assists.

Freeman’s Evan Scharberg scored 12 points and eight rebounds, while Luke Peters added eight points.


Centerville 44, Menno 35

CENTERVILLE — Centerville outlasted Menno in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Cole Edberg led the Tornadoes with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Leny Ciprian and Alec Austin scored seven and six points, respectively.

Menno’s Tyler Massey recorded 14 points, while Ajay Herrboldt and Blake Rames tallied six points apiece.


Elkton-Lake Benton 67, Sioux Falls Lutheran 25

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton cruised past Sioux Falls Lutheran for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

The Elks were led by Logan Kuehl with 13 points, while Miles Harming scored 11 points. Aiden Erickson chipped in 10 points and Lane Thompson added nine points.

Sioux Falls Lutheran’s Ethan Olson scored nine points.


James Valley Christian 72, Arlington 65

ARLINGTON — Three players scored in double figures as James Valley Christian outlasted Arlington in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

JVC’s Landon Wallman erupted for 31 points and 10 rebounds, while Eathan Bartholow tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds. Issac Korell scored 10 points and Landon Wager added eight points, seven assists, and three steals.

Arlington’s Ryker Erstad poured in 31 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists, while Britt Carlson recorded 25 points and six boards. Caden Letsche added seven points and nine rebounds.
