Hamlin 74, Sioux Falls Christian 68 (2OT)

MITCHELL — Class A No. 2 Hamlin outlasted Class A No. 5 Sioux Falls Christian in double overtime in girls basketball action at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Hamlin’s Addison Neuendorf finished with a game-high 29 points, while Addelyn Jensen added 14 points and 10 boards. Issie Steffensen recorded 10 points and three rebounds. Jade Thue totaled eight points, while Paxton Neuendorf had six points and three rebounds. Sarita Stevenson had four points and seven rebounds.

For Sioux Falls Christian, Lezlei Setzer totaled 21 points and 11 rebounds. Sydney Schapp had 13 points and eight rebounds. Ruth Dvoracek had 10 points and seven rebounds. Emory Lems and Oaklee Hadler scored seven points apiece. Aubrie VanBeek and Makinli Reitsma scored five points apiece.


Corsica-Stickney 54, Dell Rapids St. Mary 50

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 10 Corsica-Stickney to a girls basketball win at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Hadynn Johnson led the Jaguars with 18 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Braylee Bordewyk added 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Daryan DeVries posted 12 points and three rebounds. Remi Nelson totaled six points, six rebounds and four assists.

For St. Mary, Maddyn LeBrun totaled 11 points and 12 rebounds. Layla Joe Hanson added 11 points. Stephenie Geraets had seven points and six rebounds. Madelyn Klein and Sophia McNaughton scored six points apiece. Lucy Vargas had five points. 


Lyman 60, Parkston 50

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 1 Lyman knocked off Class B No. 2 Parkston in girls basketball action Friday at the DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Lyman’s Jordyn Scott led with 18 points, three rebounds, three blocks and two steals, Mak Scott added 15 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, four steals and three blocks, Kenzie Wagner recorded 12 points, five rebounds and two steals, Bree Smart added eight points, four rebounds and three assists while Brooke Montgomery scored seven points, three rebounds and three assists in the win.

Parkston’s Berkley Ziebart finished with 19 points and five rebounds. Lexi Schoenfelder added seven points and five rebounds. Keeara Oakley posted seven points, nine rebounds and five assists. Alexis Holzbauer had six points. Morgan Maxwell scored five points. 


Ethan 76, Bennett County 48

MITCHELL — Class B No. 5 Ethan drilled 14 3-pointers en route to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 3 Bennett County at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Marissa Storm led the Rustlers with 27 points and seven 3-pointers. Taziah Hawkins added 17 points, five assists and three 3-pointers. Rachel Klock totaled 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Macie Dean and Madelyn Nebelsick scored seven points apiece. 

For Bennett County, Peyson O’Neill totaled 22 points and six rebounds. Reagan O’Neill totaled 14 points and eight rebounds. Chloe Louden scored five points.


Clark/Willow Lake 44, St. Thomas More 39

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 7 Clark/Willow Lake past Class A No. 8 St. Thomas More in girls basketball action at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

CWL’s Shelby Begeman finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Kamryn Nesheim totaled 11 points, four assists and three rebounds. Brynn Roehrich had 10 points and four rebounds. 

For STM, Leighton Scherr posted 12 points and three rebounds. Amity Strand added six points, five rebounds and three assists. Enna Henry had four points and six rebounds. Ella Schriber had four points and five boards. 


Wall 51, Lemmon 37

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to power Wall to a girls basketball win at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Wall’s Brittney Walker totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds. Karmyn Kjerstad added 12 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists. Emmy Moon had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Jocelyn Bielmaier had seven points and four rebounds. 

For Lemmon, Madison Dauwen finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Brynn Odenbach added 12 points. Tenley Sonsalla grabbed six boards. 


Flandreau 55, Florence/Henry 42

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to pace Flandreau to a girls basketball win at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Flandreau’s Morgan Sheppard totaled 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Tenley LeBrun added 11 points and three 3-pointers. Hannah Krull had 10 points, five rebounds and four steals. 

For Florence-Henry, Lucy Bloom scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds. Addison Byer, Ana Byer and Mylee Sumner scored seven points apiece. Sumner added nine rebounds and five steals. Ashlynn Vavruska totaled five points and four rebounds. 


Bridgewater-Emery 56, Kadoka Area 44

MITCHELL — Oakley Weber powered Bridgewater-Emery to a girls basketball at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Weber totaled 27 points, six rebounds, four 3-pointers, four assists and four steals. Tenley Jatczak and Mya Dye scored eight points apiece. Dye added four rebounds. Macie Weber had seven points, while Lily Hilton added six points.

For Kadoka Area, Madalyn Rock finished with 21 points and eight rebounds. Shaylee Porch and Madisyn Nemecek scored nine points apiece. 


Freeman 57, Gettysburg 25

MITCHELL — Rylee Peters and Cadence Hofer combined for 36 points to power Freeman to a girls basketball win at Friday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Peters finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Hofer added 14 points and seven rebounds. Aubree Tschetter had seven points and six rebounds. Estelle Waltner recorded six points and 10 rebounds. Vaida Ammann had six rebounds and four points.

For Gettysburg, Finlee Heien totaled 14 points and five rebounds. Jadyn Ahlemeier had four points and six rebounds. Emma Schlachter posted 11 rebounds.


Langford Area 50, Faulkton Area 43

FAULKTON — A balanced scoring attack paced Langford Area to a girls basketball win over Faulkton Area Friday.

Brooklynn West led the Lions with 13 points, Paytyn Marlow added 11 points and four steals, Lizzie Gustafson recorded nine points and eight rebounds while Alexandria Darling had eight points, five assists and three rebounds.

For FA, Anika Mueller led with 16 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals, Presleigh Martinmaas added 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, Brooklyn Mueller tallied eight points, five rebounds and three assists while Austina Sorensen netted five points in the loss.


Wagner 66, Chamberlain 18

CHAMBERLAIN — Ashlyn Koupal’s 19-point double-double guided Class A No. 3 Wagner to a girls basketball win over Chamberlain Friday.

Koupal finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks for the Red Raiders, Braxton Nedved added 14 points and three assists, Mateya Bruguier and Hannah Holzbauer each had nine points while Ravyn Medricky totaled five points, five rebounds and three assists in the win.

For Chamberlain, Amelia LaPointe had six points in the loss.


Ipswich 58, Sunshine Bible Academy 20

IPSWICH — Anna Nierman and Marley Guthmiller combined for 29 points as Ipswich defeated Sunshine Bible Academy in girls basketball action Friday.

Nierman led the Tigers with 16 points and five rebounds, Guthmiller netted 13 points, seven steals and four boards while Tristan Geditzs and LaVayah Russell each had five points in the win.

For SBA, Ciera Mickelson tallied 12 points and nine rebounds while Dakota Boersma netted five points in the loss.


Chester 59, Canistota 21

CHESTER — Four players scored in double figures to push Class B No. 7 Chester over Canistota in girls basketball action Friday.

Katelyn Schut and Emmerson Eppard led the Flyers with 16 points apiece, including 12 rebounds, six assists and four steals from Eppard and six boards from Schut. Jacy Wolf had 12 points and four steals while Kaitlyn Hilbelink totaled 12 points and six rebounds in the win.

For Canistota, Haley McGregor led with nine points in the loss.


Harrisburg 47, Rapid City Central 27

HARRISBURG — Harrisburg took down Rapid City Central in girls basketball action Friday.

Logan Durnil led the Tigers with 14 points while Claire McCallum added 10 points.

For RCC, Leah Landry had 13 points in the loss.

 

Warner 43, Britton-Hecla 31

BRITTON — A balanced scoring attack pushed Warner over Britton-Hecla in girls basketball action Friday.

Miah Leidholt led the Monarchs with 11 points, Kaydee Mackner added nine points, Olivia Marcuson tallied eight points while Courtney Leidhol had five points in the win.

For BH, Chellon Pruitt led with 14 points while Daynika Zuehlke added six points in the loss.
