Parkston 54, Ethan 42 

MITCHELL — Class B No. 7 Parkston pulled away from Ethan for a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Parkston’s Brycen Bruening finished with 16 points, four assists and four steals. Mason Jervik added 11 points, six rebounds and three steals. Grady Bowar added nine points, four steals and three 3-pointers. Jaxon Leischner and Reco Muilenburg scored six points apiece. Leischner grabbed nine boards. 

For Ethan, Jack Bartscher had 11 points and three rebounds. Jaxx Kurtenbach and Creighton Klumb scored six points apiece. Tuff Martin and Mark Deckert scored five points apiece. 


Sioux Falls Christian 66, St. Thomas More 38

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 2 Sioux Falls Christian to a boys basketball win over Class A No. 6 St. Thomas More at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Canyon Prins posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Brant Wassenaar added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Dieleman posted 10 points and 12 rebounds. Carso Nickles scored five points.

For STM, Wyatt Gylten recorded 13 points, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Noah Wald posted seven points and three rebounds. Ashton Paulsen scored six points, while Baron Slusarski had five points and six rebounds. 


Freeman 72, Wall 48

MITCHELL — Five players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 4 Freeman past Class B No. 5 Wall at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Freeman’s Tate Sorensen finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. David Walter totaled 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Tayden Kerrigan and Luke Miller scored 11 points. Miller added nine rebounds. Luke Peters had 10 points, three rebounds and three steals. 

For Wall, Emmet Dinger scored 13 points and three 3-pointers. Dawson Handcock totaled 10 points and eight rebounds. Teelan Kjerstad had nine points and five rebounds. Trevor Schulz had eight points and 10 rebounds. 


Bridgewater-Emery 56, White River 45

MITCHELL — Ben Weber and Holden Wollmann powered Bridgewater-Emery to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWu/Culver’s Classic.

Weber totaled 28 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Wollmann added 18 points and eight rebounds. Brady Jager had five rebounds and four points. 

For White River, Bryson One Star recorded 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers. Mehki Krogman added nine points and seven rebounds. Jaxon Krogman had eight points and four rebounds. Maddox Marshall scored seven points, while Kreg Stoddard had six points. 


Aberdeen Christian 65, Dell Rapids St. Mary 42

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Aberdeen Christian to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Aberdeen Christian’s Luke Kaiser finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Brooks Jett added 14 points and six rebounds. Dylan Hofer finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Jett Johnson and Loyall Smith-Wade scored six points apiece.

For St. Mary, Trimmier Hanson and Isaac Griffin recorded nine points apiece. Peyton Lamb had seven points and four rebounds. Joseph Trumbauer totaled five points. 


Hamlin 64, Pine Ridge 51

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to power Hamlin to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Hamlin’s Jackson Wadsworth totaled 21 points, six rebounds, five steals and four 3-pointers. Boden Stevenson and Jack Stormo scored 14 points apiece. Stormo added six rebounds and five assists. Trig Heinrich had 10 points and six rebounds. Aiden Abraham added five points, six rebounds and four assists. 

For Pine Ridge, Marvin Richard III totaled 25 points, seven assists and six 3-pointers. Talton Hawk added 13 points and 12 rebounds. 


McCook Central/Montrose 45, Gregory 35

MITCHELL — McCook Central/Montrose topped Gregory in boys basketball action at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

MCM’s Owen Schmidt finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Andrew Sabers added nine points, while Zane McCormick and Dawson Dorr had eight points apiece. Dorr had 11 rebounds, while McCormick had 10 boards. Ben Wiebersick had seven points, eight rebounds and five assists.

For Gregory, Lincoln Juracek totaled 14 points. Colt Keiser added 12 points and 11 rebounds. 


Howard 64, Philip 43

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to pace Howard to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Kolt Becker finished with 21 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and three 3-pointers. Owen Feldhaus added 13 points and four 3-pointers. Caden Schwader had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Brody Spader added 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Garrett Feldhaus totaled seven points and five rebounds.

For Philip, Jaxon Thodes finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Weston Reedy and Carson Burns totaled six points apiece, while Carson Fugate had five points. 


Castlewood 56, Deubrook Area 45

CASTLEWOOD — Class B No. 1 Castlewood defeated Deubrook Area in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Castlewood’s Kamden Keszler recorded 21 points and seven rebounds. Will Aderhold totaled 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tyson Manley added nine points, while Brody Bass had five points. 

For Deubrook Area, Isaac Gass recorded 16 points. Chance Schoenfeld added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Moberg recorded seven points, while Braxton Bednarek and Axel Trooien scored six points apiece. 


Timber Lake 65, Lead-Deadwood 54

BELLE FOURCHE — Four players scored in double figures to pace Timber Lake to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s Belle Fourche Classic.

Timber Lake’s Treyden Beer finished with 18 points and three 3-pointers. Jackson Bigger, Pete Maher and Kanton Hunt scored 10 points apiece. Braden Lawrence and Broc Bauer scored seven points apiece. 

For Lead-Deadwood, Canon Rogers scored 19 points and Enzo Stone scored 13 points. Blake Janssen added 10 points and Cooper Hansen scored eight points. 


Little Wound 114, Tiospaye Topa 34

BELLE FOURCHE — Little Wound coasted past Tiospaye Topa for a boys basketball win at Saturday’s Belle Fourche Classic.

Little Wound’s Dylan Ferguson finished with 28 points, while Jeremiah Brave Heart added 22 points. Riley Casey scored 11 points, while Tanner High Horse and Isnala Neiji White Bull scored 10 points apiece. Tayen Feather Earring added eight points. 

For Tiospaye Topa, Isaiah Lee scored nine points. Andrei Hojas added eight points. 


Ipswich 63, Redfield 55

REDFIELD — Three players finished in double figures to power Ipswich over Redfield in boys basketball action Saturday.

Jaxon Holt led the Tigers with 20 points and four rebounds, Shay Knust added 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, Josh Rausch recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds while Kyle Hettich tallied nine points, five assists and four rebounds in the win.

For Redfield, Grady Hulscher totaled 21 points and three boards, Eloi Carnicero had 15 points and three rebounds, Isaac Banister collected eight points and four boards while Jacksan Rude tallied seven points, five rebounds and three steals in the loss.
