Mount Vernon/Plankinton 49, Wagner 28

WAGNER — Mount Vernon/Plankinton pulled away from Wagner for a Region 5A girls basketball win on Thursday. MVP will now play in the SoDak 16. 

MVP’s Emilee Fox netted 19 points, while Kyia Schmidt had 17 points and hit five 3-pointers. Vanessa Hoffman had six points and Reagan Rus scored five points.

For Wagner, Macy Koupal had 12 points. Braxton Nedved and Hayden Knudsen scored six points apiece. Ashlyn Koupal had four points. 


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 53, Wessington Springs 49 

MITCHELL — Tripp-Delmont/Armour edged Wessington Springs in Region 5B girls basketball action on Thursday. TDA will now play in the SoDak 16. 

Megan Reiner recorded 25 points for the Nighthawks, who lost to Wessington Springs (57-28) earlier in the season. Kinley Spaans added 14 points. Sara Bertram had seven points. 

Wessington Springs’ Avery Orth finished with 30 points. Alyssa Grohs posted nine points, while Kerstynn Heim had five points. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 54, Avon 39

MITCHELL — Andes Central/Dakota Christian pulled past Avon for a Region 5B girls basketball action on Thursday. ACDC will now play in the SoDak 16. 

ACDC’s Josie Brouwer logged 18 points, while Mahpiya Irving added 14 points and hit four 3-pointers. Halle Olson had 12 points. Nadia Van Zuidam posted six points.

Avon’s Courtney Sees scored 15 points. Alexis Vanderlei added nine points. McKenna Kocmich posted eight points. 


Mahpiya Luta 75, Lakota Tech 27

PINE RIDGE — Mahipya Luta advanced to the Class A SoDak 16 with a convincing win over Lakota Tech on Thursday.

Mahpiya Luta’s Jodene Hunter logged 24 points, while Ashlan Carlow-Blount had 15 points. Taleah Lunderman scored 10 points/

For Lakota Tech, Kate Robinson and Shania Ferguson scored six points apiece. 


James Valley Christian 57, Deubrook Area 38

MADISON — Three players scored in double-figures as James Valley Christian picked up a Region 2B win over Deubrook Area in girls basketball action. 

Alexa Goertz led JVC with 18 points and three rebounds. Addison Bartholow added 11 points, two rebounds and an assist. Kaylie Robinson finished with nine points and ten rebounds while Addyson Knight chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds. 

Kyree Johnson led Deubrook Area with 11 points and four rebounds. Mataya Gouws added nine points and five rebounds. 


Colman-Egan 49, Howard 43

SALEM — A big night from Brynlee Lanis helped Colman-Egan earn a berth in the Class B SoDak 16 with a Region 3B win over Howard Thursday night. 

Landis controlled the paint with 27 points and nine rebounds. Kaylee Voelker added 12 points, three rebounds and two steals. 

Dakota Spader and Elizabeth Albrecht both scored 11 points for Howard. Ann Connor added 10 points and Abby Aslesen corralled 13 points to go along with seven points. 


Centerville 43, Viborg-Hurley 35

CENTERVILLE — Three players scored in double-figures as Centerville advanced to the Class B SoDak 16 with a Region 4b win over Viborg-Hurley.

Emma Marshall paced Centerville with 13 points and eight rebounds. Makayla Heesch scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had five blocked shots. Thea Gust chipped in with 10 points. 

Charley Nelson led Viborg-Hurley with 19 points, three rebounds and three steals. Kendra Gilbert added six points and seven rebounds. 


Gayville-Volin 36, Freeman 34

CENTERVILLE — A balanced scoring attack helped Gayville-Volin advance to the Class B SoDak 16 with a Region 4B win over Freeman. 

Lexi Hoxeng led Gayville-Volin with 14 points and seven rebounds. Paisley Dimmer added 10 points and nine rebounds. 

Ashlin Jacobsen led Freeman with 11 points and four rebounds. Rylee Peters added 10 points and five rebounds. 


Arlington 65, Iroquois/Lake Preston 32

MADISON — Four players scored in double-figures as Arlington secured a SoDak 16 berth with a Region 2B win over Iroquois/Lake Preston on Thursday night. 

Jaelyn Huntimer powered Arlington with 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. Addalyn Steffensen scored 14 points and Jolyssa Steffensen chipped in with 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Adison Moore led Iroquois/Lake Preston with 14 points. Hadlee Holt added eight points and Faith Steffensen corralled 15 rebounds. 


Ethan 70, Chester 53

SALEM — Ethan pulled away from Chester for a Region 3B girls basketball win on Thursday. Ethan will now play in the SoDak 16.

Ethan’s Marissa Storm finished with 21 points and hit five 3-pointers. Ava Lingemann had 17 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Ella Pollreisz had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Madeline Bartscher had nine points, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Rachel Klock logged five points and five rebounds.

Chester’s Jacy Wolf had 17 points. Emery Larson logged 13 points, while Emmerson Eppard had 11 points, eight rebounds and three 3-pointers. Katelyn Schut scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. 


Lyman 69, Potter County

PRESHO — Three players reached double-figures as Lyman advanced to the SoDak 16 with a Thursday night win over Potter County. 

Skyler Volmer led the Raiders with 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and four steals. Jordyn Scott added 17 points, two rebounds and five assists. Makaylee Scott chipped in with 17 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals. 

Stats for Potter County were not reported. 


Northwestern 49, Leola/Frederick Area 47 

FREDERICK — Northwestern clipped Leola/Frederick Area for a Region 1B girls basketball win on Thursday. Northwestern will now play in the SoDak 16. 

Northwestern’s Ana Ratigan finished with 17 points and grabbed five rebounds. Tara Blachford had 12 points and hit three 3-pointers. Kyara Ratigan had eight points and five rebounds. Ella Boekelheide posted four points and eight boards. Josie Sparling had five assists and four rebounds. Sophia Troske had six points. 

Leola/Frederick’s Laura Sumption logged 26 points and hit five 3-pointers. Sofia Losure posted 10 points. Kalyce Achen and Olivia Morlock had five boards apiece. Jillian Ellwein had four points and four rebounds.


Harding County 62, Timber Lake 26

BUFFALO — A balanced scoring attack helped Harding County earn a win over Timber Lake in girls action Thursday out of Region 8B. 

Bailey Verhulst powered Harding County with 14 points and 10 steals. Claire Verhulst added ten points and five steals for the Ranchers. Kamryn Padden, Jaelyn Wendt and Brayden Padden each scored seven points for Harding County. 

Averie Marshall had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead Timber lake. Kenlea Heck chipped in with eight points. 

 

Tea Area 56, Elk Point-Jefferson 51

TEA — Three players scored in double figures as Tea Area picked up a Region 4A girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Tea Area’s Katie Vasecka logged 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers. Mara Grant added 15 points and seven rebounds. Haidyn West posted 10 points. 

EPJ’s Cera Schmitz posted 16 points and four assists. Ashley Brewer logged 11 points and four assists. Bentlee Kollbaum added eight points and nine rebounds. Courtney Brewer posted eight points. Kaitlynn VanRoekel had five points and five rebounds.


Flandreau 46, Sioux Valley 30

FLANDREAU — A balanced team effort helped the Flandreau girls emerge from Region 2A with a comfortable win over Sioux Valley. 

Lily Klein paced the Fliers with 19 points and five rebounds. Claire Sheppard notched nine points and 11 rebounds. Lizzie Pavlis scored six points but grabbed 11 big rebounds. 

Kailey Cradduck led Sioux Valley with 17 points and Keyra Kruse scored 11 for the Cossacks.


Hanson 50, Parkston 40

PARKSTON — Three players scored in double-figures as Hanson edged Parkston in Region 5B action Thursday night. Alyssa Moschell led Hanson with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Eliza Oltmanns pumped in 12 points to go along with seven points and two assists. Kylie Haiar scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds while Taziah Hawkins scored eight points.

Parkston’s Keeara Oakley led the Trojans with 14 points and five rebounds. Gracie Oakley added 12 points, four rebounds and four steals while Berkley Ziebart chipped in with 11 points. 


Winner 61, Todd County 26

WINNER — A balanced scoring attack helped the Winner girls advance to next week’s So Dak 16 with a Region 7A win over Todd County. 

Keelie Kuil led Winner with 16 points, four assists and seven steals. Kylie Sachtjen added eight points, six rebounds and three assists while Cici Watson chipped in with eight points. 

Skye Horse Looking led Todd County with nine points.


Harrisburg 71, Watertown 41

HARRISBURG — Four players reached double-figure scoring as Harrisburg ran past Watertown in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Abby Flanagan powered the Harrisburg offense with 20 points. Jaylee Hofer (14) and Kinley Lawrenson (12) both had big games. Sadie Mehrman chipped in with 10 points. 

Abbi Johnson led Watertown with 10 points.
