Groton Area 45, Deuel 27

CLEAR LAKE — A balanced scoring attack powered Groton Area over Deuel in girls basketball action Thursday.

Jaedyn Penning and Rylee Dunker each had 11 points to lead the Tigers, Kella Tracy added eight points, Jerica Locke totaled seven points while McKenna Tietz netted six points in the win.

For Deuel, Camdyn Peterreins had nine points, Graclyn Nielsen totaled eight points while Morgan Theisen had six points in the loss.


Parkston 57, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 47

FORESTBURG — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 2 Parkston to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 7 Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday.

Parkston’s Keeara Oakley tossed in a game-high 28 points, added 10 rebounds and four steals. Berkley Ziebart added 14 points and seven rebounds. Morgan Maxwell totaled 10 points and four rebounds. 

For SCW, Cami Edwards finished with 12 points. Liz Boschee totaled 11 points and 15 rebounds. Lainey Goertz had nine points. Addison Bartholow scored eight points.


Lyman 56, Highmore-Harrold 52

PRESHO — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 1 Lyman outlasted Highmore-Harrold for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Mak Scott recorded 27 points and nine rebounds. Bree Smart added 11 points, four rebounds and three steals. Jordyn Scott had 10 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Brooke Montgomery scored five points.

For Highmore-Harrold, Autumn Fallis finished with 19 points. Tenley McDonnell recorded 11 points. Jada Baloun had 11 points. Elle Stagg scored six points. Addison McDonnell scored five points. 


Clark/Willow Lake 56, Sisseton 45

CLARK — Shelby Begeman and Kamryn Neisheim powered Class A No. 6 Clark/Willow Lake to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Nesheim finished with 20 points, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Begeman added 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals. Jenny Bevers finished with eight points, six rebounds and four assists. Johanna Vanderscnick had six points and four assists. 


Vermillion 65, Gayville-Volin 43

VERMILLION — Taylor Reuvers powered Vermillion to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Reuvers totaled 41 points, nine rebounds and five steals.

Scotland-Menno 32, Platte-Geddes 21

SCOTLAND — Lexie McNinch’s double-double powered Scotland to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

McNinch finished with 16 points, 20 rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots. Kailin Odens added three blocks, seven points and nine rebounds. Emmalyn Heckenliable had six points and eight boards.

For PG, Kolbi Hoffman and Dulcie Veurink finished with six points apiece.


Deubrook Area 60, Arlington 35

WHITE — Mataya Gouws and Peyton Trooien combined for 44 points as Deubrook Area defeated Arlington in girls basketball action Thursday.

Gouws finished with 22 points while Trooien added 20 points. Matte Bauman recorded 11 points while Carly Engelstad had five points in the win.

For Arlington, Jaelyn Huntimer netted 19 points, Lauryn Mutziger had seven points while Emarie Vincent had six points in the loss.


Waubay-Summit 45, Warner 34

SUMMIT — Caley Boik and Addison Heinje powered Waubay-Summit to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Boik finished with 19 points and three 3-pointers. Heinje added 15 points. Bryn Amdahl recorded six points. 

For Warner, Kaydee Mackner scored 12 points. Tatum Hanson had nine points on three 3-pointers. Olivia Marcuson recorded six points. 


Wagner 57, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 12 

WAGNER — Ashlyn Koupal led Class A No. 4 Wagner to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Koupal finished with 29 points, six steals and five rebounds. Peytyn Wiechmann scored six points and added four rebounds. Mila Hopkins and Hannah Holzbauer scored five points apiece. 

For ACDC, Lily Muckey scored 12 points. 


Harding County 74, Timber Lake 17

BUFFALO — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 9 Harding County to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Harding County’s Brayden Padden totaled 13 points. Maci Wammen added 11 points and six rebounds. Kamry Padden totaled 10 points and six boards. Raelee Hunsucker scored nine points and Kaylen Padden had eight points. Macey Wendt scored six points and Kaydence Gilbert had five points. 

For Timber Lake, Ruby Maher scored four points.
