Dell Rapids St. Mary 68, Freeman 56

MITCHELL — Trevon Beckman and Maverick LeBrun powered Class B No. 3 Dell Rapids St. Mary to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Beckman totaled 27 points, six assists, four 3-pointers, four rebounds and three steals. LeBrun added 21 points, 14 rebounds and three steals. Trimmier Hanson and Jake Kopsas added nine points apiece. 

For Freeman, David Walter scored a game-high 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Luke Peters posted 10 points, five rebounds and five steals. Tate Sorensen had eight points and five rebounds. 

 

Howard 53, Parkston 49

MITCHELL --- Luke Koepsell and Austin Severson powered Howard to a boys basketball win at Saturday's DWU/Culver's Classic.

Koepsell finished with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and four 3-pointers. Severson added 12 points. Kolt Becker scored nine pints, while Lucas Feldhaus and Brody Spader scored five points apiece.

For Parkston, Brycen Bruening scored a game-high 29 points and hit three 3-pointers. James Deckert added eight points and nine rebounds. Mason Jervik recorded six points and five boards. 


Rapid City Christian 59, Viborg-Hurley 38

MITCHELL — Class A No. 3 Rapid City Christian used a 31-14 second-half surge to defeat Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley in boys basketball action at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Rapid City Christian’s Julius Frog finished with 17 points and three rebounds. Simon Kieffer added 16 points, four 3-pointers and three rebounds. Benson Kieffer added 10 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals. Aiden Roberts and Henry Koppmann scored six points apiece. 

For VH, Nick Hanson recorded 20 points and six rebounds. Brady Schroedermeier added eight points, four rebounds and four assists. Owen Niederbaumer had seven points and six rebounds. 


Hamlin 62, St. Thomas More 42

MITCHELL — Five players scored in double figures to power Class A No. 2 Hamlin to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Zac VanMeeteren finished with 18 points and nine rebounds for Hamlin. Evan Storm tallied 12 points, four assists and three 3-pointers. Jackson Wadsworth and Dawson Noem scored 11 points apiece. Easton Neuendorf had 10 points, eight assists and four steals. 

For STM, Ashton Paulsen finished with 14 points. Wyatt Gylten had 13 points and seven rebounds. Baron Slusarski tallied 10 points and five rebounds. 


Sioux Falls Christian 95, Pine Ridge 41

MITCHELL — Five players scored in double figures as Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian rolled to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Griffen Goodbary finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Brant Wassenaar had 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and six steals. Cooper Goodbary and Jude vanDonkersgoed scored 13 points apiece. vanDonkersgoed grabbed six rebounds. Carson Nickles added 12 points. Cole Snyder scored eight points. 

For Pine Ridge, Marvin Richard III scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed four rebounds. Anthony Steele scored six points. 


Bridgewater-Emery 53, White River 37

MITCHELL — Ben Weber powered Bridgewater-Emery to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Weber finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Holden Wollmann added 11 points and three rebounds. Macklen Weber and Jason Zeeb scored six points apiece. Jaxon Koch had six rebounds.

For White River, Jaxon Krogman finished with 16 points and Bryson One Star scored 12 points Mekhi Krogman added seven points and five rebounds. 


Wessington Springs 63, Hanson 49

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures as Wessington Springs defeated Hanson in boys basketball action at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic. 

Colby Flowers finished with 20 points and four rebounds. Parker Graff added 16 points and four rebounds. Ryder Michalek had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Poncelow posted eight points, while Karter Mebius added five points, six rebounds and three assists.

For Hanson, AJ Wilber totaled 16 points, five rebounds and three rebounds. Ben Wilber posted 11 points and nine rebounds. Sutton Dewald had eight points, five rebounds and five assists. Tye Hernandez and Carter Popp had seven points apiece. 


Gregory 49, Corsica-Stickney 36

MITCHELL — Lincoln Juracek and Cruz Klundt scored 10 points apiece as Gregory pulled away from Corsica-Stickney for a boys basketball win at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

Juracek finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three steals. Klundt added 10 points, five assists and four rebounds. Jackson Bolander tallied seven points and three rebounds. Cole Serr and Colt Keiser scored six points apiece. Keiser added six rebounds. Noah Bearshield totaled four points, five rebounds and three assists.

For Corsica-Stickney, Tyson Wentland recorded 19 points, six rebounds and four 3-pointers. Jarrett Olawsky posted six points, while Jett Kemp had five points. Brock Hinker grabbed six rebounds. 


McCook Central/Montrose 83, Philip 43

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures as McCook Central/Montrose defeated Philip at Saturday’s DWU/Culver’s Classic.

MCM’s Jackson Schmidt finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. Mason Sabers and Ben Wiebersick scored 14 points apiece. Wiebersick added six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Zane McCormick had eight points and seven rebounds. Preston Bradley scored six points and added three rebounds. Owen Schmidt tallied five points.

For Philip, Talan Haynes finished with 16 points, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Christopher Lurz recorded 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. Aidan Craven totaled eight points. 


Little Wound 70, Lead-Deadwood 65

BELLE FOURCHE — Little Wound clipped Lead-Deadwood for a boys basketball win at Saturday’s Belle Fourche Classic. 

Little Wound’s Kinyan Catches Enemy posted 20 points. Daelan LeBeaux and Cash Hunter recorded 12 points apiece. Dylan Ferguson scored eight points

For Lead-Deadwood, Ethan Finn scored 24 points and Beau Wichterman added 18 points. Blake Johnson scored 10 points and Brady Rantapaa had eight points. 


Wall 69, Timber Lake 52

BELLE FOURCHE — Three players scored in double figures to power Wall to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s Belle Fourche Classic.

Wall’s Teelan Kjerstad poured in a game-high 29 points and hit three 3-pointers. Emmet Dinger added 15 points and Trevor Schulz logged 10 points. 

For Timber Lake, Treyden Beer recorded 15 points, while Gavin Farlee and Kanton Hunt added eight points apiece. Cole Ducheneaux scored five points.


Milbank 60, Tri-Valley 48

MILBANK — Three players scored in double figures as Milbank defeated Tri-Valley Saturday.

Sam Rick led with 14 points, Emmett Hanson tallied 11 points and six rebounds, Graham Lightfield tallied 10 points and four rebounds while Ryan Keeton had nine points in the win.

TV’s Ty Oyen had 12 points and nine rebounds, Brody Jewett recorded 12 points, Teagin Gacke had 11 points while Alex Wingen and Kobe Krume each had five points in the loss.


Miller 74, Todd County 63

MILLER — Isaak Hunter dropped 32 points on his way to his 1,000th career point as Miller defeated Todd County Saturday in high school boys basketball action.

Hunter finished with 32 points, Will Resel had 15 points, Derek Brueggeman recorded 14 points while Oliver Fritzsche netted eight points in the win.

TC’s Chris Ellert tallied 20 points, Oniya Whirlwind Soldier totaled 14 points while Rueben Iron Horse collected 10 points in the loss.


Madison 70, Canton 24

MADISON — A balanced scoring attack led Madison to a boys basketball victory over Canton Saturday.

Ben Brooks led the Bulldogs with 16 points and three steals, Henry Veenhof finished with 11 points, Ethan Sims totaled nine points, Myles Schneider and Shane Veenhof each tallied seven points and a combined nine rebounds, while Casyn Crabtree and Quinn Fleming each scored six points in the win.

Canton’s Alex Rhead led the C-Hawks with eight points.


Sioux Falls Lutheran 64, Sunshine Bible Academy 32

MILLER — Three players scored in double figures during Sioux Falls Lutheran’s victory over Sunshine Bible Academy Saturday.

Rowen Beck led the Eagles with 18 points and four steals, Sam Borg added 17 points and six steals, Kade Matthies finished with 11 points and three rebounds while Jakob Stubkjaer had six points in the win.

SBA’s Jerome Big Eagle and Trey Thieman each had eight points while Jensen Wipf scored six points in the loss.


Rapid City Central 58, Yankton 50

RAPID CITY — Gilbert White Jr. dropped 28 points in Rapid City Central’s win over Yankton Saturday.

White Jr. finished with 28 points and three steals, Preston Yellow had 10 points, Weiland Benbo recorded seven points while Junior Allen tallied five points in the win.

Yankton’s Carson Ness led the Bucks with 13 points and five rebounds, Jackson Kudera collected 11 points and five boards while Cohen Zahrbock had nine points in the loss.


Groton Area 64, Mobridge-Pollock 49

MOBRIDGE — Four players scored in double figures during Groton Area’s win over Mobridge-Pollock Saturday.

Keegan Tracy led the Tigers with 14 points, Karson Zak had 12 points, Ryder Johnson finished with 11 points, Becker Bosma tallied 10 points while Gage Sippel and Turner Thompson each had six points in the win.

MP’s Shane Henderson netted 15 points, Easton Eisemann had 10 points, Shooter Frederick tallied nine points while Jackson Eiseman finished with eight points.


Northwestern 60, North Central 42

EUREKA — Ty Boekelheide dropped 22 points in Northwestern’s victory over North Central Saturday.

Boekelheide finished with 22 points, Jack Hansen tallied 12 points while Dallas Stoltenberg had six points while Aiden Hahler recorded five points in the win.

NC’s Isaiah Heilman and Donovan Nelson each had eight points, Jade Jacobs tallied six points while Jared Wherry collected five points in the loss.


Leola-Frederick 70, Webster Area 42

FREDERICK — Westyn Thorpe’s 19-point game powered Class B No. 4 Leola-Frederick over Webster Area Saturday.

Thorpe finished with 19 points, Noah Kippley added 13 points while Gavin Nickelson recorded 12 points in the win.

For Webster Area, Jack Shoemaker finished with 14 points, while Tate Mammenga and Jeron McCreary scored six points apiece. Sheldon Schmieg scored six points. 


Upton (Wyo.) 37, Lyman 35 

BELLE FOURCHE — Lyman dropped a two-point decision against Upton, Wyoming, in boys basketball action at Saturday’s Belle Fourche Classic.

Lyman’s Cole Kieffer and Aksel Ehlers scored 10 points apiece. Dawsen Volmer added nine points.
