Sturgis 85, Rapid City Central 81 (OT) 

STURGIS — Sturgis clipped Rapid City Central in an overtime boys basketball game on Thursday.

Sturgis’ Ryan Heinert scored 24 points and hit four 3-pointers. Hayden Rock scored 22 points and hit three 3-pointers. Teigan Wormstadt finished with 16 points and Ty Petrocco logged nine points. Jaxon Cano had five points

For Rapid City Central, Gilbert White Jr., had 33 points and hit three 3-pointers. Julius Duran posted 20 points and hit three 3-pointers. Junior Allen finished with 11 points. Sean Smith had five points. 


Centerville 63, Chester 51

CENTERVILLE — Three players scored in double figures during Centerville’s win over Chester in high school boys basketball action Thursday.

Miles Eide tallied 19 points, five rebounds and three assists, Aiden Bobzin had 17 points, four rebounds and four steals, Alec Austin had 12 points and two steals, while Ethan Bobzin recorded eight points and six boards for the Tornadoes.

Chester’s Layke Wold led with 13 points, Carter Vogel recorded 12 points, Will Seeley had 11 points while Jaxton Opdahl netted nine points in the loss for the Flyers.


Waubay-Summit 57, Great Plains Lutheran 47

SUMMIT — Hogan Hlvacek’s 25-point game lifted Waubay-Summit to a boys basketball victory Thursday.

Hlvacek finished with 25 points in the win while Traveion Neilan added 17 points for the Mustangs as well.

GPL’s Austin Rubendall tallied a team-high 23 points while Brody Scharlemann had seven points in the loss for the Panthers.


Viborg-Hurley 56, Howard 40

HURLEY — Three players scored in double figures as Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley clipped Howard during Thursday’s boys basketball action.

Nick Hanson led the Cougars with 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists, Owen Niederbaumer tallied 12 points and six boards while Brady Schroedermeier tallied 12 points, six assists, four rebounds and four blocks in the win.

Howard’s Carson Hinker had a game-high 18 points in the loss.


Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 65, Iroquois-Lake Preston 48

LAKE PRESTON — McCoy Schultz dropped 24 points as Sanborn Central-Woonsocket defeated Iroquois-Lake Preston Thursday.

Schultz finished with 24 points while Landon Jensen had 14 points for the Blackhawks.

ILP’s Lucas Peskey tallied 17 points, Davante Glanzer recorded 12 points while Carter Arbeiter added 11 points in the loss.


Parkston 93, Mount Vernon-Plankinton 52

PARKSTON — Brycen Bruening’s 31-point outing lifted Parkston to a boys basketball victory over Mount Vernon-Plankinton Thursday.

Bruening finished with 31 points and five assists, Mason Jervik added 18 points, six rebounds and three steals, James Deckert tallied 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals, while Elliot Leischner had 10 points and four rebounds in the win.

MVP’s Tyce Feistner tallied a team-high 25 points and three rebounds, Riley Mayer added eight points, while Brady Fox recorded three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the loss.


Freeman 62, Gayville-Volin 29

FREEMAN — David Walter and Chris Aasen helped Freeman defeat Gayville-Volin Thursday in high school boys basketball action.

Walter finished with 17 points for the Fliers while Aasen brought in 13 points in the win. Tayden Kerrigan recorded nine points, eight rebounds and four steals while Sawyer Wipf and Luke Peters each totaled six points and three rebounds as well.

GV’s Spencer Karstens led all Raiders with eight points and five rebounds, while Hunter Wuebben and Wyatt Mehlhaff totaled five points apiece in the loss.


Hamlin 69, Clark/Willow Lake 47

HAYTI — Three players scored in double figures to power Class A No. 2 Hamlin to a boys basketball win over Class A No. 5 Clark/Willow Lake on Thursday.

Hamlin’s Evan Stormo recorded 25 points and four 3-pointers. Jackson Wadsworth added 18 points and four 3-pointers. Easton Neuendorf had 14 points. Zac VanMeeteren and Dawson Noem scored five points apiece.

For CWL, Chris Bevers finished with 14 points and Sullivan Felberg had 11 points and three 3-pointers. Bo Begeman had nine points, while Griffin Musser scored seven points. Emerson Larson scored six points. 


Deubrook Area 57, Elkton-Lake Benton 42

WHITE — Three players scored in double figures to power Deubrook Area to a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Deubrook Area’s Isaac Gass and Braxton Bednarek scored 17 points apiece. Chance Schoenfeld recorded 16 points. Josh Moberg finished with five points. 

For Elkton-Lake Benton, Joseph Nibbe had 13 points and Colt Beck recorded 12 points. Tanner Drietz added seven points. 


Pine Ridge 84, Todd County 68

MISSION — Marvin Richard III poured in 39 points to power Pine Ridge to a boys basketball win on Thursday.
