Feb. 3 Boys Basketball Roundup - Gregory pulls away from Winner for double-digit victory

Gregory 53, Winner 39

GREGORY — Gregory used a 17-5 fourth-quarter spurt to pick up a boys basketball win on Monday.

Gregory’s Noah Bearshield and Colt Keiser finished with 12 points apiece. Cruz Klundt scored nine points, while Jackson Bolander had eight points. Lincoln Juracek and Cole Serr scored six points apiece. 

For Winner, Carter Craven scored 16 points and Shawn Hammerbeck had 15 points.


Howard 73, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 20

HOWARD — Three players scored in double figures to pace Howard to a boys basketball win on Monday.

Howard’s Carson Hinker and Luke Koepsell scored 15 points apiece. Lucas Feldhaus added 13 points and Korbin Shumaker had nine points. Brody Spader and Kolt Becker had five points apiece.

For ORR, Boyd Pooler scored eight points and Brayden Hanson had five points. 


Bison 68, Edgemont 42

NEWELL — Rylee Veal and Colt Kepren combined for 40 points to power Bison to a boys basketball win on Monday.

Veal finished with 24 points and Kepren scored 16 points. Colbin Seidel had nine points on three 3-pointers. Kyle Stadler had nine points 

For Edgemont, Keaton Darrow finished with 17 points and Sebastian Morse had 13 points. Gradin Cortney had eight points. 


De Smet 66, Canistota 39

DE SMET — Grant Wilkinson powered the Bulldogs to a boys basketball win on Monday.

Wilkinson finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds. Carter Wilkinson added 16 points and six rebounds. Samuel Gigov added nine points, while Noah Luethmers posted five points and four rebounds. Ganon Henrich had seven points. 

For Canistota, Brady Scott had 23 points and five rebounds. 


Waverly-South Shore 56, Arlington 25

ARLINGTON — Zach Ries and Sam Appelhoff combined for 27 points to pace Waverly-South Shore to a boys basketball win on Monday.

Ries finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Appelhoff added 11 points and three assists. Braydn Eschen, Colton Kranz and Kyle Kneeland scored six points apiece. Eschen had nine rebounds, while Kneeland added eight boards. 

For Arlington, Paxton Rheault had 12 points and nine rebounds. Miles Antonen had seven rebounds and three points. 


Feb. 3 Girls Basketball Roundup  

Wilmot 73, Ortonville (Minn.) 22 

WILMOT — Wilmot’s Addison Heinje powered Wilmot to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Heinje finished with 44 points, nine steals, six rebounds and six assists. Jada Cameron added 10 points and Mya Heinje added seven points. Mya Heinje added nine assists, nine steals and eight rebounds. Rylie Metz had six points. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 64, Tiospa Zina 26

ABERDEEN — Three players scored in double figures to power Aberdeen Roncalli to a girls basketball win on Monday.

Roncalli’s Maddie Huber finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. Claire Crawford added 14 points and six steals. Elyana Roach posted 12 points, while Gabby Thomas had nine points and five steals. Grace Cogley collected eight rebounds. 

Tiospa Zina’s Maya Deutsch had 11 points.
