GARRETSON — Flandreau cross-country runners Faith Wiese and Carson Wosje won individual titles at Thursday’s Big East Conference meet run at the River Ridge Golf Club.

Wiese covered the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes and :43 seconds, ahead of teammate Maci Licht (20:24) and Chester’s Emmerson Eppard (20:26). Sioux Valley teammates Amia Ward (21:01) and Calla Wiese (21:12) rounded out the top-five. 

Sioux Valley’s Carson Wosje won the boys race (17:30), ahead of Garretson’s Carter Siemonsma (18:03) and Beresford’s Hunter Penn (18:07). Beresford’s Noah Halverson (18:50) and Parker’s Colten Preheim (19:09) rounded out the top-five boys finishers. 

The Flandreau girls racked up 13 points to win the girls title, ahead of Sioux Valley (19) and Chester (25). The Sioux Valley boys racked up 14 points, finishing ahead of Beresford (18) and Flandreau (27).
