Hanson boys, Centerville girls claim titles at Dan Clarke Relays

BRIDGEWATER — The Centerville girls and Hanson boys earned team titles at Thursday’s Dan Clarke Relays. 

The Centerville girls recorded 172 points, ahead of Hanson (91) and Freeman (64). The Hanson boys logged 114 points, ahead of Viborg-Hurley (95) and Freeman Academy/Marion (92). 

In boys action, Hanson’s Brock Tuttle won the shot put (50-4) and discus (157-10). Hanson’s Sutton Dewald won the 400-meter dash (:52.08). 

Hanson’s Keaton Weber won the long jump (20-11) and finished third in the triple jump (40-10.5). The Hanson boys won the 400-meter relay (:45.64). 

Freeman Academy/Marion’s Keaton Preheim won the 100-meter dash (:11.36) and 200-meter dash (:23.17). Preheim anchored the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:33.40). FAM’s Finley McConniel won the 1,600-meter run (4:34.87) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:02.92). 

Mitchell Christian’s Silas Holdeman won the 800-meter run (2:00.80) and teammate Luke Mentele won the 3,200-meter run (10:21.00). 

Viborg-Hurley’s Luke Campbell won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.10) and 300-meter hurdles (:42.50). 

SCW’s Jeffery Boschee won the high jump (6-5), finished second in the long jump (20-6.25) and placed third in the javelin (124-8). 

Centerville’s Miles Eide won the javelin (142-0). MCM’s Paul Kaffar won the triple jump (43-1). 

The Menno boys won the 3,200-meter relay (8:40.04) and sprint medley relay (3:46.60).  

In girls action, Centerville’s Emma Marshall won the 400-meter dash (:58.96) and long jump (17-1). 

Centerville’s Kiylee Westra won the discus (116-0) and finished second in the javelin (98-4). Centerville’s MaKayla Heesch won the 800-meter run (2:30.79). Centerville’s Peyton Hansen won the 1,600-meter run (5:59.13). The Centerville girls won the 800-meter relay (1:50.56).

Howard’s Melanie Calmus won the 100-meter dash (:12.82) and teammate Grace Lewis won the 200-meter dash (:27.63). Calmus also placed second in the long jump (16-7.5). 

SCW’s Elizabeth Boschee won the high jump (5-0), placed fourth in the javelin (94-2), fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.73) and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (:49.38). 

Menno’s Ashton Massey won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.32), 300-meter hurdles (:45.32). 

Gayville-Volin’s Jolie Westrum won the 3,200-meter run (12:40.67).

Hanson’s Olivia Kayser won the shot put (35-4) and placed second in the discus (111-7). 

The Freeman girls won the 400-meter relay (:52.06), the 1,600-meter relay (4:14.40). The Menno girls won the 3,200-meter relay (10:10.34). The Gayville-Volin girls won the sprint medley relay (4:27.48). 

Viborg-Hurley’s Ava Marts won the javelin (103-4). Jolie Westrum won the triple jump (34-9).
