Hanson boys, Centerville girls win track titles at Flyer Invitational

FREEMAN — The Hanson boys won the boys team title at Thursday’s Flyer Invitational in Freeman scoring 103.5 points, just ahead of Deubrook Area (102) and Freeman (83). Freeman Academy/Marion (76) and Viborg-Hurley rounded out the top-five. 

The Centerville girls racked up 164 points, ahead of Colman-Egan (102) and Hanson (79). Deubrook Area (73) and Gayville-Volin (66) rounded out the top five girls teams. 

Hanson’s Brock Tuttle won the shot put (48-07) and discus (155-01). Hanson long jumpers Keaton Weber (19-10) and Jason Porth (19-03.5) finished first and second. Hanson’s Weston Kayser finished second in the 100-meter dash (:11.45) and ran legs on the Beavers fourth place 400-meter relay (:47.07), third place 800-meter relay (1:38.03) and second place sprint medley relay (4:01.11). 

Deubrook Area’s Gavin Landmark won the 800-meter run (2:08.91) and ran anchor legs on the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:35.38) and 3,200-meter relay (8:48.35). Dolphin senior Jake Jorenby won the triple jump (41-01) and ran a leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay team. 

Freeman Academy/Marion’s Keaton Preheim won the 100-meter dash (:11.13), the 200-meter dash (:23.77) and anchored the second place 400-meter relay (:46.77) and second place 800-meter relay (1:34.91). 

Mitchell Christian’s Silas Holderman outdueled Freeman Academy/Marion’s Tavin Schroeder, running Class B’s fastest time in the 3,200-meter run (10:10.47). Holdeman anchored Mitchell Christian’s second place 3,200-meter relay (9:00.25). 

Viborg-Hurley’s Luke Campbell won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.11) and the 300-meter hurdles (:42.46). Campbell also finished third in the 100-meter dash (:11.55) and ran a leg on Viborg-Hurley’s third place 400-meter relay team (:46.82). 

Centerville’s Emma Marshall won the 400-meter dash (1:00.82), anchored the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:15.69) and finished second in the 200-meter dash (:27.65). Emery Shubeck won the 300-meter hurdles (:48.76), the pole vault (7-06), ran a leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay team and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.75). 

Colman-Egan’s Daniela Lee won the 100-meter dash (:12.72), the 200-meter dash (:27.35) and ran the anchor legs on the winning 400-meter relay team (:53.32) and 800-meter relay team (1:53.47).  

Menno’s Ashton Massey won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.37) and ran legs on the second place 3,200-meter relay (10:49.36) and second place sprint medley relay (4:42.81).

Gayville-Volin’s Jolie Westrum won the 3,200-meter run (12:30.73), finished second in the triple jump (33-06.5) and finished fourth in the 400-meter run (1:05.05).
