Jacoby Mehrman is the 2024 South Dakota Mr. Basketball.

The Harrisburg High School senior boys basketball player received the honor at Sunday’s Hansen & Anderson Basketball Banquet in Sioux Falls. Mehrman is the first boys basketball player from Harrisburg to receive the Mr. Basketball honor. 

The award was determined by a vote of South Dakota high school basketball coaches at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.

A 6-foot-4 senior guard, Mehrman was a two-time all-state selection and a first-team honoree this past season. Mehrman was also the Class AA boys basketball player of the year, as chosen by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association. 

Mehrman averaged 17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game as a senior. He scored 1,209 career points, finishing as a top-20 scorer in Class AA boys basketball history. Mehrman, who was the Class AA Spirit of Su, will play college basketball at the University of Sioux Falls.
