BROOKINGS —- The Harrisburg girls and Aberdeen Central boys won team cross-country titles at Thursday’s Russ Strande Invitational run on the Edgebrook Golf Course. 

The Harrisburg girls were very impressive Thursday winning the team title with 28 points, ahead of Watertown (52) and Tea Area (68). Aberdeen Central (77) and Brandon Valley (151) rounded out the top-five teams. 

The Aberdeen Central boys won Thursday’s meet scoring 38 points, ahead of Brookings (46) and Watertown (74). Tea Area (98) and Harrisburg (103) rounded out the top-five teams.

In the individual girls race, Harrisburg seventh-grader Hannah Genrich won 19:06, ahead of Watertown’s Grace McElroy (19:06) and Aberdeen Central’s Juna Ramey (19:47). Harrisburg’s Autumn Gilhooly and Tea Area’s Jaycie Babb (20:03) rounded out the top-five finishes. 

In the individual boys race, Brookings’ Ernest Ting won the race 16:26, ahead of Watertown’s Ty Sullivan (16:53) and Aberdeen Central’s Joseph Perkins (16:55). Aberdeen Central’s Tate DeVries (16:58) and Tea Area’s Jack Campbell (16:59) rounded out the top-five finishers.
