Heidi Olson and Pierce Baumberger win CSDC cross-country titles

GETTYSBURG — Mobridge-Pollock senior Heidi Olson and Miller junior Pierce Baumberger won the boys and girls races for the CSDC cross country meet Wednesday at the Gettysburg Country Club. 

Olson ran the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes and 6.43 seconds, ahead of Potter County’s Dannika Kaup (19:20) and Emma Schlachter (19:53). Potter County’s Jadyn Ahlemeier (20:03) and Highmore-Harrold’s Autumn Fallis (20:08) rounded out the top-five individuals. 

Baumberger ran a personal best for 5,000 meters 15:59 ahead of Miller’s Alex Schumacher (16:28) and Nicholas Schlachter of Potter County (16:39). Miller’s Isaiah Gortmaker (17:36) and Highmore-Harrold’s Jordan Erfman (18:32) were the top-five boys finishers.

The Potter County girls won their second conference title of the day racking up six points, well ahead of Miller (20). 

The Miller boys won the CSDC team title scoring just seven points, ahead of Highmore-Harrold (22). Sunshine Bible Academy (28) and Potter County (29) were the top-four boys team finishers.
