ONIDA — The Herreid/Selby Area girls and boys track teams won team titles at Thursday’s Yellowstone Trail Conference meet in Onida. 

The Herreid/Selby Area girls racked up 159 points, ahead of Potter County (152.5) and North Central (97.5). The Herreid/Selby Area boys scored 164 points, ahead of North Central (160) and Potter County (120). 

For the Herreid/Selby Area girls Brooklyn Helm won the 100 meter dash (:13.11), finished second in the 200 meter dash (:29.50) and ran legs on the winning 400 meter relay (:54.23) and 800 meter relay (1:56.41). 

The Potter County girls won the 1,600 meter relay (4:20.16), the 3,200 meter relay (10:51.11) and the medley relay (4:33.22). Emma Schlachter won the 400 meter dash (1:03.55), Peyton Stevens the 800 meter run (2:42.90), Jadyn Ahlemeir won the 1,600 meter run (6:01.61) with Paige Ahlemeir winning the 3,200 meter run (14:02.00)

Sully Buttes junior Stevie Wittler won the 100-meter hurdles (:16.06) and the 300 meter hurdles (:50.39). Senior Lydia Hill won the shot put (37-1.5) and discus (118-2.75). 

For the boys Brayden Goehring led the Wolverines winning the 110 meter hurdles (:18.42), 300 meter hurdles (:47.06) and long jump (19-2.5). Brenden Begeman won the shot put (46-10) and the high jump (5-11). Tanner Dryer won the triple jump (39-10). 

Potter County athlete Nicholas Schlachter won the 3,200 meter run (:10.41.77) and anchored the Battlers winning 3,200 meter relay (9:08.90)

Mclaughlin’s Renzo Bullhead won the 200 meter dash (:24.70), finished second in the 100 meter dash (:11.90) and ran a leg on McLaughlin’s winning 400 meter relay (:48.88).


Sioux Falls Lincoln girls, Harrisburg boys win titles at Metro Conference Meet

SIOUX FALLS — The Sioux Falls Lincoln girls and the Harrisburg Tigers won team track titles at Thursday’s Metro Conference Meet in Sioux Falls. 

The Lincoln girls put up 188 points, ahead of Brandon Valley (135) and Harrisburg (94.5). The Harrisburg boys scored 137 points, ahead of Sioux Falls Lincoln (132.5) and Sioux Falls Jefferson (117.5).

Lincoln’s Linnea Nesheim won the 100 meter dash (:12.80) and ran legs on Lincoln’s winning 400-meter relay (:50.30). Hurdler Dymond Nave won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.10) and 300-meter hurdles (:46.85) and ran a leg on the 400 meter relay and the winning 800-meter relay (1:47.22). Ali Bainbridge captured the 1,600 meter run (5:02.44) and 3,200 meter run (11:11.20). 

Sioux Falls Washington’s Nyariek Kur won the long jump (17-9.5) and triple jump (37-11).

O’Gorman’s Julia Eggert won the 200 meter dash (:26.57) and 400 meter dash (:57.97).

Brandon Valley’s Mia Wentzy won the 800 meter run (2:18.00), finished second in the 400 meter dash (:58.47) and ran on the winning 1,600 meter relay (3:57.91) and 3,200 meter relay (9:55.23).

For the boys Harrisburg piled up points in the field events with Beau Karst winning the pole vault (14-6), Trevor Fredenburg the high jump (6-2), Carson Bennett the javelin (180-6), Carson Stiff the discus (165-1) and Caiden Mason the shot put (57-2). Harrisburg’s Cashton Johnson won the 1,600 meter run (4:28.93) and 3,200 meter run (9:38.95)

Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Griffin Fischer won the 100-meter dash (:10.85) and the 200-meter dash (:22.32) and finished second in the 400 meter dash (:49.76).

O’Gorman’s Sam Castle won the 800 meter run (1:57.91) and anchored the winning 1,600 meter relay (3:24.69).
