Tea Area 44, Watertown 13

TEA -- Class 11AA No. 1 Tea Area scored the final 34 points, rolled up 490 total yards and picked up a high school football win over Watertown on Friday. 

Jaxon Weber led the Titans with 134 rushing yards and had two rushing touchdowns. Cael Lundin had 106 passing yards and a touchdown pass. Chase Van Tol had 71 rushing yards and Blake Thompson added 64 yards on the ground. Nathan Babb had a rushing touchdown and 41 rushing yards. Klayton Sattler had 54 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Defensively, Jackson Smythe had six tackles and a sack. 

For Watertown, Drew Norberg finished with 193 passing yards, two touchdown passes and an interception. Cole Holden hauled in three catches for 163 yards and two touchdown receptions. Juven Hudson added 114 rushing yards. Defensively, Reese Stark posted 13 tackles. 


Wall 55, Jones County 0

MURDO -- Class 9A No. 5 Wall racked up 272 total yards in a shutout win over Jones County on Friday.

Burk Blasius paced the Eagles with 103 passing yards on 4 of 5 attempts and threw two touchdowns. He added a rushing touchdown. Cedar Amiotte, Bridger Casjens and Jayden Leach each had rushing scores. Blair Blasius and Rylan McDonnell had touchdown receptions. Amiotte finished with 58 rushing yards and Casjens had 54 yards on the ground. Defensively, Reid Hansen had four tackles and two sacks. 

Jones County finished with 24 total yards and committed three turnovers. 


Lyman 52, New Underwood 0

PRESHO -- Colton Collins rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns as Lyman blanked New Underwood on Friday.

Lyman finished with 314 total yards, including 294 yards on the ground. Teagan Gourneau had a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a 90-yard kickoff return for a score. Tance Wagner had a rushing touchdown and Isaac Thomas hauled in a touchdown reception. Shilo Mowry added an interception on defense. 

For New Underwood, Emmitt Richter had 49 rushing yards and had an interception on defense. The Tigers finished with 43 total yards and committed two turnovers. 


Winner 57, Wagner 6

WINNER -- Class 11B No. 1 Winner remained undefeated with a 51-point win over Wagner in Friday football action. 

The Warriors finished with 273 total yards, including 176 yards on the ground. Kaden Keiser finished with two rushing touchdowns, while Riley Orel, Aiden Barfuss, Blake Volmer, Aaron Monk and Joey Cole each scored rushing touchdowns. Slade Cournoyer had two interceptions on defense, while Orel also intercepted a pass. Orel and Jack Peters each had three tackles. Ethan Bartels had a team-high 1.5 sacks. 

For Wagner, Dustin Honomichl had 93 passing yards on 15 of 26 attempts and threw a touchdown to Nolan Dvorak. Dvorak had 53 receiving yards on five catches and Chris Nelson had 26 rushing yards. Dvorak had a team-high six tackles. Wagner finished with 100 total yards. 


Platte-Geddes 33, Wolsey Wessington 12

WOLSEY -- Class 9AA No. 2 Platte-Geddes put up 33 points as it beat Class 9A No. 4 Wolsey-Wessington Friday. 

Platte-Geddes quarterback Dawson Hoffman threw for 195 yards and four touchdowns with three of those scores going to Joey Foxley who had 100 yards receiving. Chase Varilek had 45 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Black Panthers. Grayson Hanson finished with 126 yards on the ground to lead Platte-Geddes. Hanson and Jackson Neuman each recorded nine tackles to lead the Platte-Geddes defense. 

For Wolsey-Wessington, Marty Gohn finished with 126 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Keegan Haider led the defensive effort with 15 tackles while Gohn had 10 stops. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 60, Estelline-Hendricks 6

TULARE -- Jack Boomsma scored two rushing touchdowns and two interception returns for scores as Hitchcock-Tulare topped Estelline-Hendricks on Friday.

Boomsma finished with 46 of Hitchcock-Tulare’s 100 rushing yards. Kyle Hamilton added a punt return for a score and Erik Salmen had a fumble return for a touchdown. Cole Schroeder hauled in a touchdown reception from Mason Bottom for Hitchcock-Tulare’s other score. Zach Gilbert also had an interception on defense for the Patriots. Elliott Harford posted a team-high seven tackles. 


Alcester-Hudson 42, Corsica-Stickney 20

CORSICA -- Jovey Christensen rushed for 248 yards and five touchdowns as Alcester-Hudson picked up a high school football win over Corsica-Stickney on Friday.

Caden Winquist added 78 rushing yards and a touchdown for Alcester-Hudson, which had 372 rushing yards. Winquist added 8.5 tackles and Christensen had an interception on defense. 

Shad Bosma finished with 79 passing yards, 75 rushing yards and two total touchdowns. Bosma threw a touchdown reception to Carter Wright, who finished with 57 receiving yards. Caden Vandrongelen had 91 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. He added 11.5 tackles on defense. 


Herreid/Selby Area 46, Ipswich 28

ABERDEEN -- Class 9A No. 3 Herreid/Selby Area outscored Ipswich 22-6 in the final quarter and earned a high school football win over Ipswich on Friday. The contest was played at Northern State University’s new Dacotah Bank Stadium.

Brenden Begeman powered the Wolverines with 229 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Tray Hettick added 126 passing yards, while Trey Sayler and Chance Gregg had rushing touchdowns. Sayler and Begeman had interceptions on defense. The Wolverines finished with 459 total yards, including 333 yards on the ground. 

Ipswich’s Ian Beyers had 113 rushing yards and two passing touchdowns. Carson Gohl had 41 rushing yards and a rushing score. The Tigers posted 187 total yards. 


Chester Area 35, Canistota/Freeman 26

CHESTER -- Class 9AA No. 4 Chester Area outscored Class 9AA No. 5 Canistota/Freeman 28-6 in the fourth quarter and picked up a high school football win on Friday. 

Stratton Eppard powered the Flyers with 162 passing yards, 250 rushing yards and five total touchdowns. He scored rushing touchdowns of 5, 45, 27 and 95 yards in the fourth quarter. Ryan Benson added a touchdown reception, while Chase McDonald had seven catches for 58 yards. Benson had a team-high 9.5 tackles and an interception. Eppard, Owen Mersch and Jovi Wolf each had interceptions on defense. The Flyers racked up 459 total yards. 

Canistota/Freeman’s Tage Ortman threw for 231 yards on 16 of 32 pass attempts and threw two touchdown passes. Cayden Scott had two rushing touchdowns and had 59 yards on the ground. Noah Kleinsasser had 102 rushing yards on 19 carries. Ethan Balvin had 10.5 tackles on defense. The Pride posted 421 total yards. 

 

WWSSC 30, TDAACDC 6

Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central’s Clay Olinger rushed for 271 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Friday. Olinger finished with 36 carries. 

The Blackhawks piled up 380 total yards, including 347 yards on the ground. Blake Larson added 33 passing yards and Tryce Slykhuis had 33 receiving yards. Noah Wormstadt had 11.5 tackles, while Olinger, Slykhuis and Carter Grohs each had interceptions. 

Cade Faulkner had 14 passing yards in the loss. Camden Bialas hauled in a touchdown reception for TDAACDC’s lone score. Gavin Westondorf had eight tackles and a sack on defense. 


De Smet 44, Kimball/White Lake 0

De SMET -- Class 9A No. 1 De Smet blanked Kimball/White Lake to stay undefeated on the season Friday. 

Colt Wilkinson threw for 227 yards on 15 of 27 attempts and threw two touchdown passes. He added 57 rushing yards and two rushing scores. 

De Smet’s Rett Osthus finished with eight catches for 159 yards and a touchdown reception. He added two punt returns for touchdowns. Kalen Garry added a touchdown reception, 51 receiving yards and 23 rushing yards. 

Defensively, Garry and Wilkinson had nine tackles. Osthus posted eight tackles and an interception, while Blake Van Regenmorter had seven tackles. 

Kimball/White Lake’s Holden Havlik had 48 passing yards and Levi Nightingale added 35 rushing yards. 


Faulkton Area 50, Langford Area 15

LANGFORD -- Class 9B No. 2 Faulkton Area piled up 415 total yards and downed Langford Area in Friday high school football action. 

Simon Bowar racked up 130 rushing yards on four carries and scored a touchdown. Cade Schick posted 110 rushing yards and a score, while Carter Schulte had a rushing touchdown. Parker Geditz finished with 83 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Geditz threw touchdown passes to Bennet Cassens, Ryan Beckler and Roman Dimaria. Layne Cotton had 6.5 tackles, while Bowar had five tackles. Cassens and Dimaria had interceptions. 

For Langford Area, Benjamin Gustafson rushed for 64 yards and two scores. He also threw for 90 yards and Aden Godel added 49 receiving yards. Gustafson had a team-high 8.5 tackles. The Lions finished with 203 total yards. 


Mobridge-Pollock 24, Webster Area 22

MOBRIDGE -- Cole Wellner’s five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter lifted Mobridge-Pollock to a high school football win over Webster Area on Friday. 

Wellner finished with 105 rushing yards on 18 carries, while Holden Eisemann passed for 137 yards on 12 of 19 attempts. He threw a touchdown pass and also had a rushing touchdown. Trent Schmeichel had a touchdown reception, while Simon Fried had 48 receiving yards. Jackson Eisemann had 31 rushing yards. Ashton Pfitzer had 11.5 tackles on defense. 

Webster Area’s Jacob Pereboom threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 13 of 20 attempts. Jaydon Keller hauled in 133 receiving yards and caught three touchdowns. Brent Bearman had 56 rushing yards and nine tackles on defense. 

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 26, McCook Central/Montrose 24

SALEM -- Kaden Klumb’s five-yard touchdown pass to Jay Storm with 28 seconds left lifted Class 11B No. 2 Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan past Class 11B No. 5 McCook Central/Montrose on Friday.  

Klumb finished with 217 passing yards and three touchdown passes on 18 of 23 attempts. Koby Kayser recorded 126 rushing yards on 23 carries and had one touchdown. Riley Endres added five catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks recorded 355 total yards. 

MCM’s Gavin Gordon completed 23 of 36 passes for 279 yards and one passing touchdown. Gordon added two rushing touchdowns. Cody Miles hauled in 12 catches for 167 yards and one touchdown reception. Trevor Hansen added 77 rushing yards on 20 carries. 

Florence-Henry 63, Britton-Hecla 12

FLORENCE -- Class 9AA No. 3 Florence-Henry jumped out to a 43-12 halftime lead and knocked off Britton-Hecla in high school action on Friday. 

Ashton Hanson led Florence-Henry with 303 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Tegan Sumner threw for 140 passing yards and threw two touchdown passes to Mehki Keller, who had 89 receiving yards. Hanson added nine tackles on defense, while Clay Trupe had eight tackles and two interceptions. 

For Britton-Hecla, Aidan Frederickson had 150 passing yards and two total touchdowns, including a 65-yard strike to Luke Storley. Frederickson added 67 rushing yards and Storley had 102 receiving yards. 

 

Garretson 35, Irene-Wakonda 14

IRENE -- Dylan Kindt tossed four touchdown passes and 231 yards in Garretson’s high school football win over Irene-Wakonda on Friday.

Kindt completed 21 of 34 passes, added 28 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. He added an interception on defense. Carson Clark carried the ball 15 times for 124 yards for the Blue Dragons. Cooper Long hauled in 10 catches for 131 yards and one touchdown reception. Jayse Miller, Cadyn Ockenga and Tayson Swatek each had touchdown receptions. Clark finished with three tackles. Garretson had 398 total yards. 

For Irene-Wakonda, Dashel Spurrell had 108 passing yards and one touchdown through the air. He added 76 receiving yards and one rushing touchdown. Connor Libby hauled in six catches for 52 yards and one touchdown reception. The Eagles had 236 total yards. 


Sioux Valley 36, Parker 0

SIOUX VALLEY -- Parker Puetz accounted for five total touchdowns as Class 11B No. 3 Sioux Valley topped Parker on Friday.

Puetz threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 32 more yards and two touchdowns. The Cossacks finished with 293 total yards. 

Boden Schiller hauled in five catches for 81 yards and two touchdown receptions. Carson Christopherson added a touchdown reception and an interception on defense. Lane Liebsch had 59 rushing yards. 

Parker’s Logan Bridges passed for 58 yards and Charlie Patten rushed for 39 yards. Ray Travnicek hauled in three catches for 55 yards. Patten had 10 tackles and an interception on defense. The Pheasants finished with 122 total yards. 

 

Castlewood 33, Elkton-Lake Benton 14

CASTLEWOOD -- Carson Kirwan piled up 213 rushing yards and two touchdowns as Castlewood topped Elkton-Lake Benton on Friday. Kirwan added a touchdown reception for the Warriors. 

Tristan Nielsen passed for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Jeremiah Wiersma added a rushing touchdown and Jackson Schofield had a touchdown reception. 

Ryan Krog had 178 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Riley Hunter hauled in both touchdown receptions and finished with 77 receiving yards. Aiden Erickson had 50 receiving yards and Krog added 34 rushing yards. Riddick Westley had 42 rushing yards and Tanner Stein had 10.5 tackles on defense. 


Miller/Highmore-Harrold 48, Jim River 36

MILLER -- Tate Hoffman rushed for six touchdowns and 365 yards in Miller/Highmore-Harrold’s win over Jim River on Friday. Hoffman carried the ball 34 times. 

Trey Knox threw a touchdown reception to Coby Aasby. Knox finished with 60 passing yards. The Rustlers recorded 441 total yards. 

Jim River’s Dawson Bietz threw for 261 yards and three touchdown passes. Austin Pillsbury, Ajay Herrboldt and Logan Sayler all had touchdown receptions. Pillsbury had 100 receiving yards. Turner Nicholson had 54 rushing yards and a rushing score. Herrboldt had an interception and Pillsbury returned a kickoff for a score. The Trappers recorded 416 total yards and committed four turnovers. 

 

Timber Lake 52, Dupree 0

TIMBER LAKE -- Timber Lake amassed 366 total yards and shutout Dupree in high school football action on Friday.

Hank Kraft powered the Panthers with 147 rushing yards on nine carries and scored four rushing touchdowns. He added 36 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Kedrick Martin passed for 109 yards and had three touchdown passes. Chazz Gabe had 59 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Brady Sandquist added a touchdown pass to Carter Keller. Keller posted a team-high four tackles, while Jayce Lawrence and Thane Keller each had a sack. 

Dupree’s Treg Thorstenson finished with 29 passing yards and Tyler Stambach had 26 receiving yards.  


Faith 28, North Central 12

EUREKA -- Jess Harper threw for 250 yards and four touchdown passes in Faith’s win over North Central on Friday.

Harper completed 11 of 22 pass attempts and threw two touchdowns to Matthew Gray and Brigg Price. Gray finished with 142 receiving yards on five catches, while Price hauled in three catches for 73 yards. Lanny Brooks had 30 rushing yards. 

North Central’s Raynor Sprague threw for 168 yards and had a passing touchdown. Ashton Hartling hauled in eight catches for 123 yards and had a touchdown reception. Kason Hinton had 110 rushing yards on 21 carries. Defensively, Landon Wolf had five tackles and an interception. 


Lemmon/McIntosh 28, Harding County/Bison 18

BUFFALO -- Lemmon/McIntosh outscored Harding County/Bison 12-0 in the second half for a high school football victory on Friday. 

Sawyer Thompson led the Cowboys with 131 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Tell Mollman added 111 rushing yards and two rushing scores on 18 carries. Tanner Miller and Talon Trogstad hauled in touchdown receptions. Miller caught five passes for 88 yards. Herman Frisvold posted 11 tackles, while Mollman added nine tackles and two sacks. Miller and Andrew Dirk had interceptions on defense. The Cowboys finished with 248 total yards. 

Harding County/Bison’s Rylee Veal passed for 136 yards, rushed for 51 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Cayden Floyd had 26 yards and a rushing touchdown. Keegan Hett hauled in seven catches for 70 yards. Cade Martian had 6.5 tackles and an interception on defense. 


Hamlin 44, Arlington/Lake Preston 0

ARLINGTON -- Xander Sheehan four touchdown passes and 104 yards in Hamlin’s shutout win over Arlington-Lake Preston on Friday.

Sheehan finished 8 of 18 and added 62 rushing yards. Tyson Stevenson caught two touchdown passes from Sheehan, while Evan Stormo had a touchdown reception. Luke Fraser had 104 rushing yards and a touchdown reception. Hamlin finished with 355 total yards. 

Arlington/Lake Preston’s Britt Carlson had 15 passing yards and Dylan Singrey rushed for 35 yards. Caleb Clark had 15 receiving yards. The Badgers finished with 66 total yards. 

 

Brookings 43, Mitchell 14

BROOKINGS -- Brookings bolted out to a 35-0 halftime lead and knocked off Mitchell in high school action on Friday.

The Bobcats finished with 236 rushing yards on 44 carries. Hunter Gray posted 56 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Justin Cofell had two rushing touchdowns. Tyson Brandt added 49 rushing yards, while Sam Hardin and Israel Caldron each rushed for a score. Cofell threw a touchdown pass to Jackson Hoffman. 

Mitchell’s Treyson Schulz threw for 153 yards on 13 of 21 attempts and had a touchdown pass to Tucker Vilhauer. Mick Dailey added a rushing touchdown for the Kernels. Mitchell finished with 240 total yards. 


Madison 30, Canton 14

MADISON -- Class 11A No. 2 Madison outscored Class 11A No. 1 Canton 20-7 in the second half en route to a high school football win on Friday. 

Madison finished with 371 total yards, including 212 passing yards from Nate Ricke. He also had 63 rushing yards and a touchdown. Bruce Galde had 66 rushing yards and two scores. Trey Smith added a rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs. Mickale Dohrer had 54 receiving yards and Mike Peters had 40 receiving yards. Smith racked up 15 tackles and two sacks. Cam Buchholtz had a sack and Dohrer added an interception on defense. 

Canton recorded 224 total yards, including 148 yards on the ground. Luke Richardson rushed for 80 yards, while Tadesse VanDeStroet and Payton Eben each scored rushing touchdowns. Josh Merkle had 76 passing yards and Eben had 63 receiving yards. Merkle had a team-high 10 tackles and Avery Herting had a sack. 


Vermillion 21, Lennox 7

LENNOX -- Vermillion racked up 320 yards of rushing on 51 attempts to knock off Lennox and spoil the Orioles Homecoming festivities. 

Quarterback Jack Kratz scored on a 25-yard touchdown run and found Zoan Robinson on a 35-yard touchdown pass as the Tanagers opened a two-score lead early. Ty Hertz added an 11-yard touchdown run to put the game out of reach for the Tanagers. 

For Lennox, Jackson Arlt led the Orioles attack with 54 yards rushing and an 11-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Braeden Wulf finished with 13 completions and 173 yards. Steven Christion caught seven passes for 109 yards. 


Spearfish 30, Custer 0

SPEARFISH -- Spearfish rolled up 244 yards of total offense as the Spartans won their Homecoming game Friday with a decision over Custer. 

Quarterback Jaden Guthmiller completed seven passes for 91 yards and led the Spartans with 119 yards rushing and three touchdown runs. Receiver Peyton Mills caught two of those passes for 48 yards in the win. Bridger Niehaus finished with 27 yards and a touchdown. Pierce Miller led the Spartans with 8.5 tackles including six tackles for loss. 

Custer managed just 126 yards of total offense with Mikeale Grace (47 yards) and Tyrin Scott (27 yards) doing the bulk of the damage. Zayne Severyn finished with 2.5 tackles for loss with Roland Sedlacek recording an interception to aid the Wildcats defensive effort.
