High school volleyball roundup - Parkston outlasts McCook Central/Montrose in 5-set thriller

PARKSTON -- Parkston outlasted McCook Central/Montrose in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-23, 18-25, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-7.


Burke 3, Bon Homme 0

TYNDALL -- Burke swept Bon Homme in straight sets in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-21, 25-9 and 25-17.

Adisyn Indahl led the Cougars with 14 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Kailee Frank added eight kills, nine digs and six aces. Paige Bull finished with five kills and five blocks. Elly Witt added 13 assists, while Ava Sargent posted 10 assists and two aces.

For Bon Homme, Olivia Bures had seven kills, seven digs and two aces. Erin Heusinkveld had seven kills, eight digs and three blocks. Kendadee Kozak had two kills and four digs, while Jurni Vavruska had two kills, four blocks and nine digs. Jaden Kortan added 12 assists and five digs. Jenna Duffek contributed seven digs. 


Wolsey-Wessington 3, James Valley Christian 1

WOLSEY -- Wolsey-Wessington picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over James Valley Christian on Thursday. The set scores were 25-13, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-11.

Mya Boomsma posted 21 kills and 25 digs. Kailynn Dorris finished with 12 kills and two blocks. Leah Williams added 10 kills and 18 digs. Macie Luce recorded 18 assists and Hailey Clarke had 12 digs. Lainey Uttecht recorded 26 digs, while Giyahna Richmond had two blocks and Alyssa Hiles had two aces. 

For JVC, Jolie Dowling finished with eight kills and one block. Brenna Held finished with six kills. Karilyn Wieting added 20 assists and Kaylie Robinson had two assists. Lily Hofer added two kills, one block and one ace.  


Gregory 3, Corsica-Stickney 1

GREGORY -- Gregory knocked off Corsica-Stickney in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 29-27, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-17.

Brooklynn Kenzy finished with 12 kills, 14 digs, 10 assists and five blocks. Mya Determan added 11 kills, while Jessy Jo VanDerWerff had nine kills and 20 digs. Anna Dargatz had 10 digs and three aces. Sapphire Kenzy added 16 digs, while Gracie Kenzy posted 13 assists and two aces. Kodi Timanus had three aces 

For Corsica-Stickney, Rachel Gerlach finished with 11 kills and 11 digs. Morgan Clites had 14 digs, 10 kills and two blocks. Payton DeLange had 11 digs and five kills. Casey Tolsma had 23 digs, five kills and four aces. Sutten Eide added 30 assists, 16 digs and four aces. Cora Heidinger had nine digs. 


Redfield 3, Britton-Hecla 0

REDFIELD -- Redfield picked up a three-set sweep over Britton-Hecla in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-10, 25-20 and 25-23.

Gracie Fast led the Pheasants with nine kills, while Katie Rozell had six kills and three block assists. Denae Paulsen posted four aces and nine digs. Camryn Rohlfs dished out 20 assists. 

For Britton-Hecla, Jenna Werner had eight kills and Alyssa James posted three kills. Chloe Furman added seven assists and Jayden Bender posted five digs. 


Colman-Egan 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 2

ELKTON -- Colman-Egan outlasted Elkton-Lake Benton in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 18-25, 25-13, 18-25, 18-25 and 15-4.

Mackenzie Hemmer posted 25 kills and 18 digs. Ava Mousel recorded 27 assists and 18 digs, while Hailey Larson had 16 kills and 26 digs. Lanie Mousel finished with 13 assists. Daniela Lee recorded seven kills and 14 digs. Berkley Groos posted 18 digs. 

For ELB, Rachael Krog had 11 kills and 19 digs. Madisyn Nielsen and Kylie Ramlo finished with nine kills apiece, while Ramlo had 15 digs. Aubree Bales posted eight kills, while Tevan Erickson had 37 assists, 21 digs and five kills. Kayla Goertz posted 24 digs and two aces. Kinsley Krog finished with nine digs. 

 

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3, Iroquois/Doland 0

IROQUOIS -- Sanborn Central/Wooosocket swept Iroquois/Doland in straight sets in Thursday prep volleyball action. The set scores were 25-5, 25-17 and 25-16.

Brooke Doering led SCW with 15 kills and two blocks. Teya Moody added 28 assists, while Trista White logged six kills, five aces and 12 digs.

No stats were reported for Iroquois/Doland.


Great Plains Lutheran 3, Waverly-South Shore 0

WAVERLY -- Great Plains Lutheran swept Waverly-South Shore in straight sets in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-8, 25-19 and 25-9.

Mali York led GPL with 10 kills, three aces and one solo block. Bryn Holmen had nine kills and eight digs. Olivia Holmen added five kills. Ellie Scharlemann had nine digs and five aces. Olivia Giovannettone recorded four aces, seven digs and 15 assists. Kyrie Roberts added eight assists. 

For WSS, Emily Heuer posted seven assists, four kills, four digs and one ace. Bridget Eschen had three kills, eight digs and one ace. Capri Schroeder added four digs.  


Garretson 3, Chester Area 0

CHESTER -- Garretson swept Chester Area in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-15.

Lily Ranschau posted 13 kills, 17 digs and three aces. Kaylin Koch added 12 kills, while Jaelyn Benson had 29 assists and 13 digs. Logan Bly added two blocks and two aces. 

For Chester Area, Breckyn Ewoldt had 12 kills and Addison Bates had six kills. Lily VanHal added 15 assists and Carly Becker posted 13 assists. Becker added two aces and Jayda Kenyon had a block. 


Baltic 3, Parker 1

PARKER -- Baltic topped Parker in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-20, 24-26 and 25-16.

Emma VanRegenmorter finished with 17 kills, five blocks, five digs and two assists. Sami Polzin added 16 kills and 26 digs, while Elyssa Clark had 13 kills and 20 digs. Jacie Wendland added 39 assists, while Baily Teveldal had 18 assists, six digs and four kills. Madison Kennedy had 15 digs. 

For Parker, Brooke Berens and Janae Olson had five kills apiece. Berens added 36 digs and two aces, while Olson had two blocks. Alexis Even recorded 33 digs, Desiree Pierce posted 28 digs and Anna Reiffenberger had 22 digs.


Freeman 3, Menno 0

MENNO -- Freeman swept Menno in straight sets in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15.

Kate Miller led Freeman with 20 kills, 14 digs, two blocks and two aces. Erin Uecker recorded eight kills, 22 digs, two blocks and three aces. Ashlin Jacobsen finished with 24 digs, four kills and two assists. Ava Ammann added 22 assists and six digs. Paige Auch had nine assists and four digs. Cami Fransen posted five digs, while Emil Mendel recorded three digs and two aces. 

For Menno, Bridget Vaith finished with five kills, three blocks and one ace. Julia Buechler and Paityn Huber had three kills apiece. Buechler and Madelyn Kludt recorded 11 digs apiece. Huber also had eight assists and 12 digs. Grace Nusz and Halle VanHove had eight digs apiece. 


Estelline-Hendricks 3, Deubrook Area 1

DEUBROOK -- Estelline-Hendricks topped Deubrook Area in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-21, 14-25 and 25-17.

Kate Wegner finished with 13 kills and 21 digs. Kenzy Beare recorded 11 kills and six blocks. Sadie Johnson posted 36 assists and 25 digs. Heidi Nicola had 23 digs.

For Deubrook Area, Emma Vandermeer recorded 10 kills and four blocks. Hanna Kjelden had seven kills, while Miranda Moravetz had 18 digs. Delaney Pedersen posted 16 digs and Taylor Ekern had 10 digs. 


Gayville-Volin 3, Vermillion 0

VERMILLION -- Gayville-Volin swept Vermillion in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-19, 25-12 and 25-18. 

Jadyn Hubbard had 15 kills, while Molly Larson had eight kills and 14 digs for Gayville-Volin. Keeley Larson recorded 28 assists, while Ayla Dimmer had 16 digs.

For Vermillion, Brooklyn Voss posted 11 kills and five blocks. Brooke Jensen added eight kills and three blocks. Claire Doty had 23 assists, while Serena Gapp had 15 digs. Kelsey O’Neill added 14 digs. 


Irene-Wakonda 3, Hanson 2

ALEXANDRIA -- Irene-Wakonda edged Hanson in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 20-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-12 and 15-11.

Nora O’Malley led the Eagles with nine kills, four digs and one block. Madison Orr posted five kills and seven blocks. Emma Orr added seven kills, seven assists and three digs. McKenna Mork added 11 assists, six kills, two digs and two aces. Willa Freeman finished with 38 digs. Katie Knodel posted 19 digs and five kills. 

For Hanson, Annalyse Weber recorded eight kills and 32 digs. Kate Haiar posted seven kills and two blocks. Kiana Berg posted seven kills and four digs. Jalyn Kampshoff recorded 25 assists and 17 digs. Erin Dewald had three kills and eight digs, while Taylor Schroeder recorded 19 digs. Skylar Holm had six digs. 


Sully Buttes 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

MILLER -- Sully Buttes swept Sunshine Bible Academy in a three-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 28-26.

Allyson Wittler finished with 15 kills and six aces. Trichelle White recorded 12 kills, while Calleigh Chicoine had five aces and 18 assists. Tailynn Bradford posted 21 assists.

For SBA, Aja Paul posted five kills and two aces. Sadie Konechne had three kills and three aces. Jakki Burma added five assists, while Annaliese Van Zee recorded two blocks. Betra Amare recorded four digs.  


Viborg-Hurley 3, Centerville 0

VIBORG -- Viborg-Hurley swept Centerville in straight sets in a high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-18.

Coral Mason led the Cougars with 15 kills, 22 digs and five aces. Denae Mach had 10 kills and 20 digs. Delana Mach recorded eight kills, five blocks, nine digs and three aces. Denae Mach added 10 kills and 20 digs. Mataya Vannorsdel had 26 assists and nine digs. Charley Nelson posted 12 digs. 

No stats were reported for Centerville. 


Madison 3, Tri-Valley 1

COLTON -- Madison dropped the first set, but won the next three over Tri-Valley in a Thursday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 21-25, 25-12, 25-17 and 25-17.

Audrey Nelson finished with 15 kills and Karly Lurz had six kills. Nelson added one solo block and three block assists. Raena Rost finished with 18 digs and Kylie Krusemark added 13 digs. Krusemark added seven aces and 28 assists, while Maycee Theede posted three aces. Abby Morse finished with three solo blocks.

For Tri-Valley, Erica Bicknase finished with six kills, one solo block and three block assists. Megan Wenzel finished with four kills, one solo block and four block assists. Jenna Hanson recorded 16 digs and two aces. McKenzie Atwood recorded 11 digs, while Neveah Grann had three aces and three assists. Brookelyn Stieben added 10 assists.  


Harrisburg 3, Sioux Falls Lincoln 2

SIOUX FALLS -- Harrisburg outlasted Sioux Falls Lincoln in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 14-25, 28-26, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-7.

Abby Meister led the Tigers with 19 kills and Kaelyn Snoozy had 10 kills. Maggie Meister finished with 24 assists and 10 digs, while Alissa Dierks posted 16 assists. Zoe Rallis recorded 19 digs. Rallis and Jada Wassink had three aces apiece. Morissen Samuels had two blocks. 

For SFL, Baily Plourde had 25 kills and one block. Samantha Zeeck dished out 52 assists, while Brynn Kirsch recorded 16 digs. Anna Engels had six aces. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Dakota Valley 1

NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Sioux Falls Christian dropped the first match, but won the next three for a high school volleyball match victory on Thursday. The set scores were 22-25, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-20.

Sidney Tims had 16 kills, six blocks and one ace. Peyton Poppema and Sidney Oostra had 12 kills and 13 digs apiece, while Poppema had six aces. Addisen Barber posted 48 assists and 14 digs. Ellie Lems had seven kills and 15 digs, while Kylah vanDonkersgoed had six kills and 16 digs.

For Dakota Valley, Jorja Vandenhul posted 15 kills, three blocks and two digs. Sophie Tuttle had 10 kills and 18 digs. Logan Miller finished with 41 assists, 10 digs and four kills. Sam Archer had 20 digs and five kills. Tori Schultz finished with seven kills, three digs and two blocks. Kate Van Rooyan added 18 digs, while Madeline Stout had seven kills and three digs.
