Highmore-Harrold's Autumn Fallis competes in Junior Olympic Track and Field Nationals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — From field days on the rugged plains near Highmore, South Dakota, junior Autun Fallis recently completed in the steeplechase at the 2024 National Junior Olympic track and field meet on July 22-28.

Competing at Kyle Field, with a seating capacity of 82,000, Fallis competed in the 2,000-meter steeplechase, finishing 10th in the competition 8:12.75. 

This fall, Fallis will be looking to qualify for the Class B state cross-country race for a fourth consecutive time, with fourth place being her highest finish. On the track, she holds Highmore-Harrold School records in the 1,600-meter run (5:23) and 3,200-meter run (11:41). 

Fallis also plays basketball for the Pirates.
