SALEM — Thursday was a good day for the Sioux Valley cross country teams as Isabelle Bloker and Carson Wosje won individual conference titles on the McCook Country Club Course.

Bloker ran her 5,000-meter race in a time of 17 minutes and 55.10 seconds, ahead of Flandreau’s Faith Wiese (18:16) and Chester’s Emery Larson (18:36). Flandreau’s Kiley Westberry (20:02) and Sioux Valley’s Liberty Trygstad rounded out the top-five female runners.

Wosje, a sophomore from Sioux Valley ran his 5,000-meter race in 17:34, ahead of Beresford’s Espyn Klungseth (17:52) and Beresford’s Hunter Penn (18:08). Baltic’s Kyle Gronewold (18:18) and Flandreau’s Tanner Reed (18:21) rounded out the top-five finishers in the boys race. 

A good battle between Sioux Valley and Flandreau for the girls team title with the Cossacks winning with 12 points, ahead of the Fliers (15). Chester (28) and Baltic (39) rounded out the top-four team finishers.

Beresford scored 16 points to win the boys team title, ahead of Flandreau (20) and Baltic (29). McCook Central/Montrose (40) and Sioux Valley (44) rounded out the top-five boys teams.
