WEBSTER — James Valley Christian swept team titles at Wednesday’s Region 1B cross-country. 

The Viking girls finished with 17 points, edging Northwestern (18) and Ipswich (19). Warner (24) and Faulkton Area (57) rounded out the top-five teams. The JVC boys posted 19 points, finishing just ahead of Estelline/Hendricks (21) and Frederick Area (25) for the team title. Faulkton Area (33) and Northwestern (36) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide covered the 5,000-meter distance at the Webster Golf Course in 19 minutes and 13 seconds, earning the girls individual title. Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus (20:32) and JVC’s Darli Frandsen (20:42) finished second and third, respectively. JVC’s Hadasah Olson (20:43) and Northwestern’s Tara Blachford (20:50) rounded out the top-five runners.

On the boys side, Faulkton Area’s Korbin Stark (17:39.47) was the individual winner. JVC’s Dax Frandsen (18:09.34) and Estelline/Hendricks’ Cooper Schaefer (18:14.78) placed second and third, respectively. Estelline/Hendricks’ Kyler Marson (18:29.47) and JVC’s Kaden Ober (18:32.47) rounded out the top-five runners.
