Jan. 10 Boys Basketball Roundup - Dell Rapids outlasts Mobridge-Pollock in overtime at Round Ball Classic

Dell Rapids 69, Mobridge-Pollock 65 (OT)

VOLGA — A balanced scoring attack guided Dell Rapids to an overtime boys basketball victory over Mobridge-Pollock at Saturday’s Round Ball Classic.

Lincoln Anderson led the Quarriers with 19 points, five rebounds and three steals, Karson Paye added 16 points and five rebounds, Camden Jones recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks while Jace Brende collected nine points, five boards and three steals in the win.

For MP, Kale Knudson ended the game with 28 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals, Shooter Frederick added 22 points and 11 rebounds while Trueth Crow Ghost and Easton Eisemann each had five points in the loss.


Sioux Valley 70, Sully Buttes 58

VOLGA — Four players scored in double figures as Sioux Valley handed Class B No. 4 Sully Buttes its first loss of the season at Saturday’s Round Ball Classic.

Connor Relf paced the Cossacks with 20 points, Carter Sapp collected a double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots, Brady Hiltunen had 14 points and four assists, Bret Milton netted 15 points while Holdyn Ruesink tallied five points in the win.
For SB, Wesley Wittler notched 18 points and nine rebounds, Gavin Colson and Jett Yackley each had 14 points while Easton Moore recorded 10 points in the loss.


Flandreau 58, Wolsey-Wessington 44

VOLGA — Four players scored in double figures to pace Flandreau to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s Round Ball Classic.

Flandreau’s Luke Sheppard finished with 18 points and nine boards. Kody Kneebone added 12 points and eight rebounds. Xavier Bien and Alexavier Pioitra scored 11 points apiece. Jadon Eng totaled six points, seven rebounds and four assists. 

For WW, Caleb Richmond totaled 16 points and six rebounds. Larz Tvedt added 13 points. Clay Kahre had nine points, while Sawyer Nelson totaled 10 rebounds. 


Wilmot 75, Lakota Tech 50

VOLGA — Three players scored in double figures to pace Wilmot to a boys basketball win at Saturday’s Round Ball Classic.

Wilmot’s Maddux Foss totaled 24 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Heinje added 12 points. Micah Pelzel recorded 12 points and eight boards. Noah Sorenson tallied six points, four assists and four rebounds. Grayson TeKrony had five rebounds and three rebounds. 

For Lakota Tech, Rylan Cuny had 13 points and hit four 3-pointers. Jack Iron Cloud recorded 12 points and five boards. John Thompson finished with 11 points, while Richard Palmier III added nine points and five rebounds. 


New Underwood 54, Bison 47

NEW UNDERWOOD — New Underwood rallied back from a 14-point halftime deficit for a boys basketball win over Bison on Saturday.

New Underwood’s Zach Henriksen scored 17 points and Blake Beer finished with 16 points. Kaleb Myers had 12 points 

For Bison, Kyle Stadler recorded 15 points. Kamden Holmes scored nine points and Cody Arthur totaled eight points. Owen Siedel had seven points 


Wagner 58, Winner 55

WINNER — Wagner outlasted Winner for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Wagner’s Jesse Zephier finished with 17 points, while Ky Arpan added 15 points. Carlos Galindo and Jakhi Tiger scored five points apiece.

For Winner, Carter Craven scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 10 boards. Camdyn Anderson and Jalen Tideman scored 11 points apiece.

 

Castlewood 71, Deuel 63 (OT)

CLEAR LAKE — Kamden Keszler and Brody Bass combined for 50 points as Class B No. 3 Castlewood outlasted Deuel in overtime Saturday.

Keszler totaled 32 points while Bass added 18 points in the win. Leonard Wernke netted seven points and seven rebounds while Will Aderhold had six points for Castlewood.

For Deuel, Troy Jenson tallied 26 points, Jaxtin Winter had 14 points, Nolan Gubrud collected eight points while Sutton Benck had six points in the loss.


Clark/Willow Lake 68, Webster Area 36 

WEBSTER — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 3 Clark/Willow Lake to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

CWL’s Chris Bevers finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three 3-pointers. Emmerson Larson added 13 points. Sully Felberg recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Bo Begeman scored nine points. Will Hovde and Talen Huber scored six points apiece.

For Webster Area, Matthew Mount finished with 14 points. Jack Shoemaker scored seven points and Grady Wagner added six points. 


Chester 54, Alcester-Hudson 46

CHESTER — Carter Vogel and Jaxton Opdahl powered Chester to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Vogel finished with 20 points and Opdahl added 13 points. JD Prorok added nine rebounds and Opdahl grabbed six boards. Prorok had five assists.

For Alcester-Hudson, Jacob Cole scored 17 points and Evan Haak added 14 points. 


Freeman 53, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 33

FREEMAN — Class B No. 9 Freeman rolled past Tripp-Delmont/Armour for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Freeman’s David Walter finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Oliver Waltner added 11 points. Tate Sorensen and Luke Peters scored six points apiece. Tayden Kerrigan totaled four points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. 

For TDA, Grant Wunder finished with 12 points. Jake Strand posted eight points. Payton Goehring recorded 10 rebounds and four points. Daylin Kok had six points and six rebounds. 


Leola-Frederick Area 59, Waverly-South Shore 28

FREDERICK — Three players scored in double figures to power Leola-Frederick Area to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

LFA’s Westyn Thorpe and Jace Thorpe scored 11 points apiece. Winston Clark totaled 10 points. Zander Hoffman and Erik Losure scored six points apiece. 

For WSS, Kyle Kneeland scored 13 points and Austin Hovitek scored eight points. 


Corsica-Stickney 47, Scotland-Menno 41 

SCOTLAND — Corsica-Stickney clipped Scotland-Menno in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Corsica-Stickney’s Jaxson Feenstra finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Sawyer Schmidt and Jett Kemp scored nine points apiece. Kemp added six assists. Aiden Clites posted five rebounds and three steals. 

For Scotland-Menno, Erick Buechler had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Izayah Ulmer and Hunter Yosten scored seven points apiece. 


North Central 46, Faulkton Area 43

ROSCOE — Donovan Nelson and Kobe Wherry powered North Central to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Nelson finished with 18 points and Wherry added 16 points. 

For Faulkton Area, Korbin Stark posted 20 points. Weston Senn finished with 10 points and Spencer Melius added seven points. 


Milbank 64, Hillsboro/Central Valley (Minn.) 61

MILBANK — Three players scored in double figures to power Milbank to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Milbank’s Lincoln Holscher finished with 25 points, six rebounds and five 3-pointers. Sam Rick added 16 points and three 3-pointers. Jeter Scoular had 14 points, seven assists and three 3-pointers.
