West Central 46, St. Thomas More 42

HARTFORD — Class A No. 1 West Central outlasted Class A No. 4 St. Thomas More for a Friday boys basketball win. 

West Central’s Hayden Heier finished with 17 points and Will Kuhl totaled 16 points.

For STM, Ashton Paulsen scored 19 points. Wyatt Gylten recorded 12 points and Baron Slusarski scored seven points. 


Stanley County 42, White River 41

MURDO — Stanley County edged White River in boys basketball action at Friday’s 58th annual Jones County Invitational. Stanley County will play Lyman in the JCI championship on Saturday. 

Stanley County’s Eddie Duffy finished with 16 points, while Paxton Deal scored 15 points. Brendon Bothwell added five points.

For White River, Bryson One Star scored 16 points and Jaxon Krogman had 15 points. Kreg Stoddard totaled five points. 


Lyman 70, Jones County 27 

MURDO — Lyman used a balanced-scoring attack to pick up a boys basketball win at Friday’s 58th annual Jones County Invitational. Lyman will play Stanley County in the JCI championship on Saturday. 

Lyman’s MJ Diehm finished with 21 points, while Dawsen Volmer totaled 13 points. Josiah Vaad scored eight points and Cole Kieffer added seven points. Chace Seaboy and Canyon Garnos scored six points.

For Jones County, Bryer Kinsley scored 10 points. Bodie Whitney had seven points and Celton McKenzie had six points. 


Wessington Springs 65, Sunshine Bible Academy 42

WOLSEY — Colby Flowers powered Class B No. 6 Wessington Springs to a 281 Conference tournament boys basketball victory on Friday.

Flowers finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and five steals. Gavin Brandenburg had nine points, while Grady Gran scored seven points. Ethan Hamick collected 10 boards and Wesley Molnar had five boards. 

For SBA, Avery Hall scored 11 points, while Isaac Hague added nine points and five rebounds. Henrick Wipf scored seven points and grabbed four rebounds. Andrew Wipf had eight boards. 


Iroquois/Lake Preston 73, James Valley Christian 60

WOLSEY — Ervin Carter and Logan Peskey powered Iroquois/Lake Preston to a 281 Conference tourney boys basketball win on Friday. 

Carter and Peskey scored 17 points apiece. Ben Curd added eight rebounds.

For JVC, Jayven VanScherrel had 14 points and Noah Fast added nine points. Kolby VanDerWerff scored seven points.


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 50, Highmore-Harrold 33

WOLSEY — McCoy Schulz and Will Simmonds paced Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a 281 Conference tourney boys basketball win on Friday.

Schulz finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Simmonds added 12 points. Sam Baruth had seven points, while Grant Edwards added seven rebounds. Eli White collected six rebounds.

For HH, Jordan Erfman recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds. Drew Palmer posted five points. Brooks McPeak added seven rebounds. 


Scotland/Menno 61, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 54

SCOTLAND — Izayah Ulmer and Hunter Clark powered Scotland/Menno to a boys basketball win on Friday.

Ulmer finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Clark totaled 18 points. Micah Goehring and Hunter Yosten scored eight points apiece. Yosten added nine rebounds.

For ACDC, Jamian Medicine Horn and Edward Ulrich scored 20 points apiece. 


Sioux Falls Lutheran 66, Chester 49

CHESTER — Three players scored in double figures to power Sioux Falls Lutheran to a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Lutheran’s Kade Matthies and Sam Borg finished with 14 points apiece. Owen Gilster added 12 points. 

For Chester, Zach Moyer had 15 points and five steals. Jaxton Opdahl and JD Prorok scored 10 points apiece. Prorok added seven assists and four rebounds. Opdahl added five boards.


Lead-Deadwood 56, Hot Springs 38

HOT SPRINGS  — Blake Janssen’s 23-points guided Lead-Deadwood over Hot Springs in a West River Tournament boys basketball game Friday.

Janssen finished with 23 points, Canon Rogers tallied 11 points, Garrett Rantapaa netted six points while Cooper Hansen tallied five points in the win.

For HS, Jaydon Koffler led with 19 points while Caleb Kleinsasser added 10 points in the loss.


Sioux Valley 52, McCook Central/Montrose 40

SALEM — Connor Reif and Braden Danzeisen powered Sioux Valley to a boys basketball win on Friday.

Reif totaled 20 points and six rebounds. Danzeisen added 13 points. Holdyn Ruesink added nine points and five rebounds. Carter Sapp totaled five points and eight rebounds. 

For MCM, Dawson Dorr totaled 12 points and 12 rebounds. Owen Schmidt finished with eight points and four rebounds. Andrew Sabers and Lane Hanisch scored six points apiece.


Mitchell 53, Brookings 39

BROOKINGS — Colton Smith’s 18-point double-double powered Mitchell over Brookings in boys basketball action Friday.

Smith finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and three blocks in the win, Lincoln Bottum added 11 points and four assists, Collin Weier tallied eight points and four rebounds, Owen Raml added seven points while Kendan Skinner scored five points in the win.

For Brookings, Drew Johnson tallied eight points while Noah Lease and Hayden Jones each had six points in the loss.


Upton (Wyo.) 55, Edgemont 22

HOT SPRINGS — Edgemont dropped a West River Tournament boys basketball game against Upton, Wyoming, on Friday.

Edgemont’s Lane Maciejewski scored eight points, while Ethan Lawrence had six points. Bradyn Hamilton added five points.

Upton’s Nic Schiller scored 23 points.
