Bennett County 68, Upton (Wyo.) 25

HOT SPRINGS — Peyson O’Neill powered Class B No. 3 Bennett County to a girls basketball at Friday’s West River Tournament. 

O’Neill finished with a game-high 31 points, while Reagan O’Neill added 10 points. Madi Waln scored seven points. 


West Central 51, St. Thomas More 36

HARTFORD — Class A No. 8 West Central pulled away from St. Thomas More for a girls basketball win on Friday.

West Central’s Kacey Jaton finished with 21 points, while Ellie Knight added nine points. Ayla Kramer scored seven points and Abbi Thornton scored six points.

For STM, Leighton Scherr finished with 14 points and Rachael Hyde scored 11 points. Brynn Donnelly had five points. 


Flandreau 60, Madison 43

FLANDREAU — Morgan Sheppard powered Flandreau to a girls basketball win over Madison on Friday. 

Sheppard totaled 26 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks. Rhegan Sheppard scored 14 points and Hannah Krull totaled 10 rebounds. 

For Madison, Jordyn Schmidt had 12 points. 


Scotland-Menno 37, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 34

SCOTLAND — Scotland-Menno outlasted Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a girls basketball win on Friday.

SM’s Kailin Odens finished with 14 points and Emmalyn Heckenliable added nine points. 

For ACDC, Lily Muckey had 10 points. Lilly Niewenhuis and Halle Olson scored eight points. 


Hot Springs 49, Edgemont 15

HOT SPRINGS — Hot Springs coasted past Edgemont for a girls basketball win at Friday’s West River Tournament.

Hot Springs’ Emmie Baker finished with 12 points and three 3-pointers. Toryn Johnson scored eight points. Presley Trevillyan scored seven points and Camryn Bader added five points.

For Edgemont, Raelee Provorse scored six points. 


Mitchell 50, Brookings 20 

BROOKINGS — Addie Siemsen paced Mitchell to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Siemsen finished with 24 points, three 3-pointers and three steals. CeCe Morgan totaled eight points, 10 rebounds and five assists. London Hajek totaled six points, while Nia Talley added five points and eight rebounds. 

For Brookings, Sloan McLagan posted nine points and three rebounds. Macy Even added seven points and three rebounds. 


Sioux Falls Washington 64, Sioux Falls Jefferson 63

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures as Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Washington clipped Sioux Falls Jefferson in girls basketball action on Friday.

Washington’s Dana Harpe finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Rylan Kennett added 14 points and seven rebounds. Josie Biteler had 10 points and four rebounds. Jersey Peterson added eight points and nine rebounds. Layla Berte had eight points and five rebounds.

For Jefferson, Brinley Altenburg recorded 24 points and three rebounds. Abby Horner and Macy Bryant scored 10 points apiece. Taylor Silvernail added eight points, three rebounds and three assists.
