Ethan 51, Arlington 41

MITCHELL — Class B No. 2 Ethan held off Class B No. 5 Arlington for a girls basketball at the Corn Palace on Friday. 

Ava Lingemann led the Rustlers with 23 points, while Ella Pollreisz had 13 points. Marissa  Storm scored 11 points.

For Arlington, Addalyn Steffensen finished with 16 points and Jaelyn Huntimer scored 11 points. Jolyssa Steffensen had five points. 

Wagner 57, Centerville 50 

MITCHELL — Ashlyn Koupal powered Class A No. 2 Wagner to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 1 Centerville on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Koupal finished with 28 points, 16 rebounds, 10 blocked shots and six assists. Lydia Yost scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds. Macy Koupal added 10 points and six rebounds. Hayden Fischer logged eight points and dished out five assists.

For Centerville, Althea Gust scored 21 points and added four assists. Emma Marshall scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds. Makayla Heesch posted seven points and four rebounds. Izzie Eide had five points.


Vermillion 73, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 68

MITCHELL — Vermillion outlasted Mt. Vernon/Plankinton for a girls basketball win at the Corn Palace on Friday.

Vermillion’s Taylor Reuvers scored 20 points and Brooke Jensen finished with 17 points. Chandler Cleveland added 16 points.

For MVP, Emilee Fox scored 26 points and Reagan Rus added 24 points. Kyia Schmidt scored nine points and Berkeley Engelland had eight points. 


Lyman 84, Bennett County 26

PRESHO — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 3 Lyman to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Lyman’s Skyler Volmer finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, seven steals and five assists. Mak Scott added 19 points and 10 assists. Brooke Palmer posted 14 points, five steals and five rebounds. Jordyn Scott had 13 points and five assists. Morgan Hoffman finished with five points and four steals. 

Bennett County stats were not reported. 


Hanson 58, Canistota 46

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson picked up a girls basketball win over Canistota on Friday.

Hanson’s Alyssa Moschell recorded 15 points and four steals. Eliza Oltmanns and Kylie Haier scored 14 points apiece. Haiar had six rebounds, while Oltmanns had four steals. Taziah Hawkins added six assists. 

For Canistota, Kayla Papendick posted 20 points and four steals. Natalie Becker added 10 points. 


Hill City 48, Deubrook Area 30

WHITE — Hill City pulled away from Deubrook Area for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Hill City’s Alaina Dean finished with 12 points, while Zoe Alexander scored eight points. Maggie Taylor added seven points. Anna Dean scored six points and Lillie Ross had five points.

For Deubrook Area, Kylee Johnson scored eight points. Kyarra Blum, Kadence Bowne, Mataya Gouws and Peyton Trooien scored five points apiece. 


Faulkton Area 45, Ipswich 31

FAULKTON — Kelli Stoecker and Carley Cotton combined for 28 points as Faulkton Area defeated Ipswich in girls basketball action Friday.

Stoecker paced Faulkton Area with 15 points, six rebounds and five steals. Cotton finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and seven steals while Presleigh Martinmass chipped in with five points, four rebounds and four steals. 

Kaylen Onken led Ipswich with 10 points and four rebounds. Anna Nierman added seven points and five rebounds.


Sioux Falls Christian 66, Madison 26

MADISON — Sioux Falls Christian used a big night from Jaxsyn Swift to pick up a win over Madison in girls basketball action Friday night.

Swift made six 3-pointers and finished with a game high 21 points to go along with four rebounds. Avery Reitz also reached double-figures with ten points. Emory Lems added eight points and five rebounds for the Chargers.

Grace Feige led Madison with six points while Audrey Nelson chipped in with five points. 


Freeman 65, Menno 25

MENNO — Three players scored in double-figures as Freeman defeated Menno in girls basketball action Friday. 

Ashlin Jacobsen powered Freeman with 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and six steals. Peyton McCune added 14 points and three assists while Vaida Ammann chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a game high nine steals.

Ashton Massey led Menno with seven points, 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocks. Lexie McNinch added six points and five rebounds for Menno.
