Viborg-Hurley 59, Baltic 58 (OT)

BALTIC — Tatum Lyons’ game-winning layup pushed Viborg-Hurley to an overtime girls basketball win over Baltic Thursday.

Lyons finished with 9 points in the win, Olivia Hanson led the Cougars with 21 points, Tatum Hauger collected 14 points while Lexie Wetering and Ava Marts each had six points in the win.

For Baltic, Harper Kortemeyer led with 21 points, Caitlyn Pickett added 16 points, Kate Bouman netted nine points while Kaiya Lenderts tallied eight points in the loss.


Ipswich 39, Faulkton Area 37

FAULKTON — Gabby Wald powered Ipswich over Faulkton Area in girls basketball action Thursday.

Wald led the Tigers with 14 points, five rebounds and five steals, Marley Guthmiller recorded nine points and eight boards, Tristan Geditz netted seven points and six rebounds while Anna Nierman tallied five points and four steals in the win.
For FA, Anika Mueller tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and two steals, Brooklyn Mueller added 12 points, eight boards, two assists and two steals while Presleigh Martinmaas netted seven points, six rebounds and four steals in the loss.


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 52, Highmore-Harrold 43

HURON — Liz Boschee and Cami Edwards powered Class B No. 7 Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to the girls 281 Conference championship on Thursday.

Boschee finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Edwards added 14 points and three rebounds. Addison Bartholow totaled seven points and five boards. Kali Hofer and Lainey Goertz scored five points apiece.

For HH, Jada Baloun recorded 12 points and 14 rebounds. Elle Stagg had 12 points. Addison McDonnell finished with nine points and four rebounds. 


Wolsey-Wessington 51, Wessington Springs 43

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to power Wolsey-Wessington to a third-place finish at the girls 281 Conference tournament on Thursday.

Maria Nelson finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Raya Toupal had 12 points and Kendal Uttecht added 11 points. Shae Uttecht had five rebounds. 

For Wessington Springs, Kenzie Kolousek finished with 11 points and Kendall Kolousek added nine points. Annika Heumiller had seven rebounds. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 60, Iroquois/Lake Preston 52

HURON — Cambree Hoekman powered Hitchcock-Tulare to a fifth-place finish at the girls 281 Conference tournament on Thursday.

Hoekman finished with 21 points, six 3-pointers and three steals. Gracyn Bixler added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Emmerie Arthurs posted 16 points and four steals. 

For ILP, Hadlee Holt recorded 21 points and 11 rebounds. Bentlee Holt added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Skyla Harris added eight points and Khloe Olson had seven rebounds.


Hanson 47, Canistota 25

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson clipped Canistota in girls basketball action Thursday.

Ava Doyla tallied 11 points for the Beaverettes. Hannah Easton added 11 points, five rebounds and five steals, Lacey Easton brought down five boards while Kendra Endorf recorded five steals as well.

For Canistota, Emma Sandman had six points while Ellie Becker added five points in the loss.


Irene-Wakonda 56, Alcester-Hudson 47

IRENE — Maryn Lyngstad and Emily Oien combined for 36 points as Irene-Wakonda defeated Alcester-Hudson in girls basketball action Thursday.

Lyngstad tallied 20 points in the win, Oien added 16 points while Ava George and Grace Hansen each had seven points for the Eagles.

For AH, Emily Winquist had 12 points while Skyler Hongslo led with 14 points for the Cubs.


Parkston 55, Bon Homme 25

TYNDLAL — Three players posted in double figures as Class B No. 2 Parkston knocked off Bon Homme in girls basketball action Thursday.

Alexis Holzbauer led the Trojans with 12 points, Keeara Oakley added 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two assists, Berkley Ziebart netted 11 points, eight boards, two rebounds and two steals while Emelia Tapio tallied seven points and two steals in the win.

For BH, Taycee Ranek led with nine points and 12 rebounds while Olivia Kaul added six points and five boards in the loss.


Freeman 55, Scotland/Menno 31

MENNO — Three players scored in double figures as Freeman defeated Scotland/Menno in girls basketball action Thursday.

Rylee Peters had 16 points for the Flyers, Vaida Ammann added 13 points while Cadence Hofer collected 15 points in the win.
For SM, Kailin Odens had 12 points to lead the Trappers while Lexie McNinch tallied eight points and seven rebounds in the loss.


James Valley Christian 37, Sunshine Bible Academy 25

HURON — James Valley Christian topped Sunshine Bible Academy for seventh place at the girls 281 Conference tournament on Thursday.

JVC’s Addison Kleinsasser scored 13 points and Rylin Wipf added 11 points. Dara Olowu-Davies recorded five points.

For SBA, Ciera Mickelson scored 12 points. Tess Hinman scored six points. 


Lyman 54, Burke 24

PRESHO — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 1 Lyman to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Lyman’s Jordyn Scott totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and three assists. Bree Smart added 12 points and four rebounds. Mak Scott totaled 12 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Kenzie Wagner had eight points and four assists. Ella Ehlers added six points.

Burke stats were not reported. 


Centerville 65, Sioux Falls Lutheran 14

CENTERVILLE — Izzie Eide powered Class B No. 5 Centerville to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Eide totaled 22 points, six rebounds and five steals. Brea Austin recorded 11 points, four steals and three assists. Tessa Eide posted seven points and five rebounds. Peyton Hansen and Madison Carstensen scored five points apiece. Ashlyn Hagena had nine rebounds and four points. Lydia Austin had five steals and four points. 


Rapid City Christian 87, Lead-Deadwood 26

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to power Rapid City Christian to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Brynn Casey and Emma Swenson finished with 13 points apiece. Nora Kieffer added 12 points, while Nia Selfridge and Miley Johnson scored nine points apiece. Alex Love had eight points.

Lead-Deadwood stats were not reported.
