Pierre 59, Sioux Falls Lincoln 41

PIERRE — Class AA No. 3 Pierre picked up a girls basketball win over Sioux Falls Lincoln on Thursday.

Ryann Barry powered the Governors with 30 points and six 3-pointers. Remington Price added 11 points, while Reese Terwilliger had 10 points and nine rebounds. Ayvrie Kaiser recorded seven points and six rebounds. Lennix DuPris collected six rebounds. 

Lincoln’s Charity Lemier finished with 14 points and three 3-pointers. Mariah Siem logged 10 points and seven boards. Addie Fawcett added seven points and four rebounds.


Vermillion 47, Ponca, Neb., 36

PONCA, Neb. — Vermillion outlasted Ponca, Nebraska, for a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Kasey Hanson scored a team-high 13 points, while Leah Herbster added 11 points. Brooke Jensen tossed in nine points, while Jenaya Cleveland scored six points. 


Howard 62, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 49

HOWARD — Abby Aslesen and Kate Connor combined for 37 points to pace Howard to a girls basketball win over Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday.

Aslesen logged 20 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Connor recorded 17 points and six rebounds. Tana Hoyer added eight points. Trinity Palmquist had five points and six rebounds, while Dakota Spader scored five points. 

SCW’s Liz Boschee finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Kennadie Oschner added 10 points, while Kamryn Oschner had seven points.


Warner 63, Ipswich 30

IPSWICH — Warner cruised past Ipswich for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Warner’s Kendyl Anderson tallied 17 points and six assists, while Kyra Marcuson recorded 12 points. Kamryn Anderson had 10 points, while Ava Nilsson added eight points and eight rebounds.

Ipswich’s Gabby Wald had 12 points.


Herreid/Selby Area 40, Faulkton Area 34

FAULKTON — Herreid/Selby Area held off Faulkton Area for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

HSA was led by Jennica Berens and Jada Rossow with 10 points and six rebounds each, while Stephanie Albee had seven points.

Faulkton Area’s Addison Melius had 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Paislee Martinmaas had nine points.


Deubrook Area 49, Iroquois/Lake Preston 44

IROQUOIS — Deubrook Area edged Iroquois/Lake Preston for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Deubrook Area’s Ellie Koenig tallied 17 points, while Kadence Bowne recorded 16 points. Matte Bauman added 11 points.

ILP was led by Adison Moore and Hadlee Holt with 13 points apiece. Faith Steffensen added nine points.


Arlington 77, De Smet 65

ARLINGTON — Jaelyn Huntimer and Addalyn Steffensen combined for 55 points to lead Arlington past De Smet for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Huntimer poured in 32 points, while Steffensen tallied 23 points. Jolyssa Steffensen added eight points and eight rebounds.

De Smet was led by Jada Burke with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Emma Albrecht tallied 15 points and six rebounds. Hazel Luethmers had 13 points and nine rebounds, while Mirra Beck added seven points and six rebounds.


Colman-Egan 40, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 32

COLMAN — Colman-Egan picked up a girls basketball win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Thursday.

CE’s Brynlee Landis tallied 17 points, while Lanie Mousel had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

ORR was led by Julia Trygstad with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Brooklyn Hageman had six points.


Wessington Springs 52, Sunshine Bible Academy 10

MILLER — Wessington Springs used a 22-0 first quarter to pull away from Sunshine Bible Academy for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Wessington Springs was led by Kirstie Munsen and Avery Orth with 15 points apiece. Orth added 12 rebounds, while Kate Havlik had eight points.

SBA was led by Abby Hinman with six points.


Brandon Valley 55, Watertown 33

BRANDON — Brandon Valley pulled away from Watertown for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

BV was led by Hilary Behrens with 20 points, while Kennedi Deckert had 11 points. Jaida Metzger and Alyvia Padgett each had seven points.

Watertown was led by Grace Corey with 11 points, while Maddy Rhode had eight points.


Huron 60, Brookings 38

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Huron to a girls basketball win over Brookings on Thursday. 

Isabelle Ellwein scored 21 points and hit three 3-pointers. Heavan Gainey added 15 points and hit three 3-pointers. Hamtyn Heinz logged 11 points and six rebounds. Hylton Heinz scored five points. 

Brookings’ Jaden Devine and Tess Burns scored eight points apiece.
