Kadoka Area 64, Jones County 50

MURDO — Three players scored in double figures to pace Kadoka Area to a boys basketball win at the Jones County Invitational on Thursday.

Kadoka Area’s Jordan Eisenbraun finished with 11 points, while Gus Stout and Riley Running Enemy scored 10 points apiece. Dalton Grimes logged eight points. Kole Hermann and Karson Eisenbraun scored seven points apiece. Tance Vandermay had five points. 

For Jones County, Bryer Kinsley had 16 points and Asa Best scored 14 points. Jace Nix scored 10 points and Dawson Hunt had six points.


Hanson 64, Parker 59 (OT)

ALEXANDRIA — Ben and AJ Wilber combined for 37 points in Hanson’s overtime victory over Parker Thursday.

Ben Wilber finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds and two assists, AJ Wilber added 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Sutton Dewald had eight points and five rebounds, while Tye Hernandez recorded eight points, three assists and two rebounds in the win.

For Parker, Jevin Erickson tallied 15 points, while Tonner Peterson added 12 points in the loss.


Stanley County 71, Bennett County 42 

MURDO — Three players scored in double figures to power Stanley County to a first-round win at the Jones County Invitational on Thursday. 

Stanley County’s Eddie Duffy finished with a game-high 28 points and nailed five 3-pointers. Paxton Deal added 18 points and hit four 3-pointers. Kaden Montana chipped in with 14 points and Teegyn Breitag scored seven points.

For Bennett County, Caysen Soderlin had 12 points and Rush O’Neill scored 11 points. Kelan Cottier added six points and Curt Poor Bear scored five points.


Crazy Horse 61, Philip 37

MURDO — Devaughn Between Lodges and Falcon Quiver scored 23 points apiece and combined for 11 rebounds as Crazy Horse defeated Philip at the Jones County Invitational on Thursday. 

Quiver nailed six 3-pointers and Between Lodges drilled five points. Tyrell Ashley scored eight points and Jacob High Horse added seven points.

For Philip, Christopher Lurz scored 17 points and Talan Haynes had 13 points. Aidan Craven scored six points.


Lyman 69, White River 50 

MURDO — Four players scored in double figures as Lyman picked up a boys basketball win at the Jones County Invitational on Thursday.

Lyman’s M.J. Diehm and Aksel Ehlers scored 17 points apiece. Dawsen Volmer added 13 points and Cole Kieffer scored 10 points. Chase Seaboy had seven points.

For White River, Bryson One Star scored 19 points and hit three 3-pointers. Teagen Bouman had 14 points, while Kreg Stoddard had eight points. Zaysyn Whipple scored five points. 


New Underwood 70, Faith 41

NEWELL — New Underwood pulled away from Faith for a boys basketball win at the West River Tournament on Thursday.

New Underwood’s Ethan Enos scored 17 points and hit three 3-pointers. Zeke Enos logged 14 points and hit four 3-pointers. Sam Enos had 13 points and Trevin Walker had nine points. Blake Beer finished with seven points

For Faith, Trace Berglund scored 12 points. Krece Halligan scored eight points and Tyon Arneson scored six points. Cooper Schuelke had five points.


Parkston 65, Wagner 48

PARKSTON — Brycen Bruening’s 30-point performance lifted Parkston past Wagner during Thursday’s High school boys basketball action.

Bruening finished with 30 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in the win, Reco Muilenburg added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists, James Deckert collected nine points and five assists, Mason Jervik added six points, while Elliott Leischner brought down six rebounds for the Trojans.

Wagner’s Parker Petry led the Red Raiders with 13 points and eight rebounds, Carlos Falindo tallied 10 points, Preston McFayden added nine points, while Brady Cournoyer poured in six points, six rebounds and two steals in the loss.


Miller 60, Sully Buttes 52

MILLER — Will Resel and Isaak Hunter combined for 44 points to power Miller to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Resel recorded 24 points, while Hunter added 20 points. Oliver Fritzsche had eight points and Derek Brueggeman added six points.

For Sully Buttes, Wesley Wittler finished with 22 points. Gavin Colson scored 12 points, while Eli Mercer and Jett Yackley scored nine points apiece. 


Lennox 58, Vermillion 36

VERMILLION — Boston Katzer and Aiden Hanssen powered Class A No. 5 Lennox to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Katzer finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Hanssen added 12 points. Teegan Musser scored six points.

For Vermillion, Gabe Larsen scored nine points. Luke Jensen added seven points. Trey Hansen and Carter Hansen scored six points apiece. 


Castlewood 62, Great Plains Lutheran 37

CASTLEWOOD — Bryon Laue and Brody Bass powered Class B No. 1 Castlewood to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Laue finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Bass added 16 points and eight rebounds. Jamison Keszler recorded 14 points, while Luke Baumberger scored six points.

For GPL, Brody Scharlemann scored 14 points. Austin Rubendall scored seven points and Hayden Karli had six points.


Florence-Henry 56, Britton-Hecla 49

BRITTON — A balanced scoring attack helped Florence-Henry earn a road win over Britton-Hecla in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Carson Kavruska led all scorers with 28 points while powering Florence-Henry. Ty Bergh added 18 points for the Falcons. 

Will Richter led Britton-Hecla with 16 points. Jaxon Zuehlke had nine points and Graham Fosness chipped in with eight points. 


Viborg-Hurley 58, Gayville-Volin 25

GAYVILLE — Nick Hanson and Brady Schroedermeier combined for 35 points as Class B No. 3 Viborg-Hurley ran past Gayville-Volin for a Thursday night basketball win. 

Hansen led all scorers with 19 points while Schrodermeier contributed 16 points. 

Spencer Karstens led Gayville-Volin with nine points, six rebounds and two steals. Will Pirak chipped in with five points. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 82, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 32

DELL RAPIDS — Class B No. 2 Dell Rapids St. Mary coasted past Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in boys basketball action on Thursday.

Trevon Beckman finished with 31 points and scored his 1,000th career point in the win. Maverick LeBrun added 22 points, while Walker Warwick added 12 points.

For ORR, Boyd Pooler scored 15 points. 


Cedar Catholic, Iowa 71, Dakota Valley 64

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Cedar Catholic Iowa handed Class A. No. 3 Dakota Valley its first loss of the season in Thursday night boys basketball action. 

Logan Collette powered Dakota Dalley with 30 points, three rebounds and three assists. Luke Bruns finished with 22 points and seven rebounds while Tyler Cornelsen added four points, five rebounds and five assists. 

Stats for Cedar Catholic, Iowa were not reported. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 55, Ponca (Neb.) 50

ELK POINT — Benjamin Prouty and Chase Swanson combined for 29 points as Elk Point-Jefferson defeated Ponca in boys basketball action. 

Prouty led EPJ with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals. Swanson added 13 points while Landon Johnon and Brody Van Roekel each scored six points. 

Tucker McGill led Ponca with 19 points while Trystan Bevelhymer added 14 points 


Beresford 69, West Sioux, Iowa 56

BERESFORD — Beresford picked up a win over West Sioux, Iowa on Thursday, winning a fifth consecutive game. 

The Watchdogs were paced by Cooper Nelson who finished with 22 points and six rebounds. Malachi James added 15 points and Aidan Hamm contributed 13 points in the win. 

Gavin Gerritison led West Sioux, Iowa with 19 points.
