Wagner 57, Parkston 55 (OT)

PARKSTON — Hayden Knudsen’s layup with four seconds left propelled Wagner past Class B No. 2 Parkston in an overtime girls basketball game on Thursday. 

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Koupal also blocked a Parkston shot attempt and found Knudsen for the game-winning shot. Braxton Nedved added 10 points. Lydia Yost logged nine points and eight rebounds. Ravyn Medricky tallied seven points and five rebounds. Knudsen added six points and four rebounds. 

For Parkston, Berkley Ziebart had 15 points and six assists. Mya Thuringer logged 14 points and seven rebounds. Keeara Oakley added 11 points and eight rebounds. Morgan Maxwell had eight points, while Lauren Ziebart added seven points, five assists and four rebounds. 


Centerville 53, Irene-Wakonda 33

IRENE — Class B No. 1 Centerville remained undefeated with a win over Irene-Wakonda in Thursday night girls basketball action. 

Emma Marshall powered Centerville with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, five steals and a block. Izzie Eide added 18 points and Althea Gust chipped in with 11 points, two rebounds and four assists. 

Stats for Irene-Wakonda were not reported. 


Lyman 65, Stanley County 21

PRESHO — Mak Scott powered Class B No. 3 Lyman to a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Scott finished with 26 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Brooke Montgomery added nine points, while Kenzie Wagner and Jordyn Scott scored eight points apiece. Jordyn Scott added five assists and five steals. Bree Smart scored seven points and dished out seven assists. Brooke Palmer had six rebounds and three points. 

Stanley County stats were not reported. 


Hamlin 68, Webster Area 28

WEBSTER — Three players scored in double figures as Class A No. 5 Hamlin rolled past Webster Area in girls basketball action on Thursday. The Chargers nailed 13 3-pointers. 

Addie Neuendorf recorded 23 points and hit five 3-pointers. Issie Steffensen finished with 16 points and four 3-pointers. Addie Steffensen logged 15 points and three 3-pointers. Jo Steffensen scored seven points. 

For Webster Area, Erin Sannes scored eight points and Carrington Hanson had five points. 


Vermillion 59, Lennox 47

VERMILLION — Taylor Reuvers recorded a double-double to power Class A No. 2 Vermillion to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Reuvers finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Brooke Jensen and Lexi Hanson scored nine points apiece.

For Lennox, Tori Gerdes had 10 points. Libby Kranz posted nine points and Bergen Musser added eight points. 


Deubrook Area 45, Estelline-Hendricks 35

WHITE — Deubrook Area took down Estelline-Hendricks in high school girls basketball action Thursday.

Zoey Molengraaf led with 12 points for the Dolphins, Mataya Gouws tallied 11 points, while Matte Bauman and Kylee Johnson each had nine points in the win.

EH’s Brooke Johnson collected 15 points in the loss, while Ayla Texley, Presley Bury and Danelyn Greene each had eight points in the loss.


Hanson 48, Parker 39

ALEXANDRIA — Kylie Haiar’s 19-point double-double lifted Hanson over Parker during Thursday’s high school girls basketball action.

Haiar finished 19 points and 20 rebounds in the win, Claire Bridge tallied 14 points, Cadence Jarding had six points, Paige Kayser added six points and four assists, while Ava Doyle collected five rebounds and four steals in the win.

Parker’s Jenna VanVelzen tallied 13 points and four steals, Mesh Wright had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Halle Berens and Mallory Mitzner each brought in eight rebounds in the loss.


Great Plains Lutheran 42, Castlewood 25

CASTLEWOOD — Three players scored in double figures as Great Plains Lutheran defeated Castlewood Thursday in high school girls basketball action.

Katherine Prahl tallied 11 points and eight rebounds while Madeline Prahl had 11 points and nine boards for the Panthers. Abby Kjenstad added 11 points and five rebounds in the win as well.

For Castlewood, Cassidy Kirwan tallied 10 points and four rebounds, while Ava Ruml and Natalie Akin each had four points in the loss.


Northwestern 54, Ipswich 35

IPSWICH — Ashley Haven and Adriana Ratigan combined for 37 points as Northwestern picked up a road win over Ipswich in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Haven made 10-of-13 shots and finished with 21 points and six rebounds. Ratigan contributed 16 points, eight rebounds, an assist and two steals.

Marley Guthmiller led Ipswich with 10 points, five rebounds and three steals while Gabby Walk had eight points, two assists and two steals. 


Arlington 65, Elkton 30

ARLINGTON — Jaelyn Huntimer and Sony Johnson combined for 43 points as Arlington picked up a win over Elkton in girls basketball action on Thursday night. 

Huntimer finished with 30 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals. Johnson notched 13 points, four assists and three steals. Ellisyn Vincent added eight points and nine rebounds. 

Charlie Thooft led Elkton with 10 points and eight rebounds while Sydney DeVries added five points and six rebounds. 


Sioux Valley 58, McCook Central/Montrose 45

SALEM — Four players scored in double figures to pace Sioux Valley to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

SV’s Keyra Kruse recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Kailey Cradduck logged 11 points and 13 rebounds. Amari Ward had 10 points. Talya Vincent posted 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. Liberty Trygstad scored six points.

For MCM, Ella DeKnikker had 12 points and five rebounds. Mya Morrison logged 10 points. Mandi Schock added eight points, while Karlie Stiefvater had five points. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 52, Ponca (Neb.) 36

ELK POINT — A balanced scoring attack helped Elk Point-Jefferson pick up a win over Ponca, Nebraska in Thursday night girls basketball action. 

Courtney Brewer led Elk Point-Jefferson with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Bentlee Kollbaum added 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. 

Ponca was led by Elsie Keller who finished with 14 points.
