Stanley County 60, Kadoka Area 52

MURDO — The Stanley County boys basketball team won its first Jones County Invitational since 1997 on Saturday.

Stanley County’s Paxton Deal finished with 18 points and Kaden Montana added 17 points. Eddie Duffy scored 14 points. Teegyn Breitag had five points. 

For Kadoka Area, Kole Hermann finished with 15 points and Gus Stout added 14 points. Jared Nemecek and Karson Eisenbraun scored eight points apiece. Dalton Grimes had six points.  


Castlewood 49, West Central 45

COLMAN — Class B No. 1 Castlewood clipped West Central in boys basketball action at the Dakota Valley Conference Classic on Saturday.

Castlewood’s Jamison Keszler finished with 14 points, while Brody Bass added 12 points and 10 boards. Bryon Laue had nine points and 11 rebounds. Luke Baumberger had eight points and Kamden Keszler scored six points.

For West Central, Connor Mebius tossed in 20 points. Will Kuhl tallied seven points, while Kolte Garry and Luke Knight scored six points apiece.


Sioux Falls Christian 71, Rapid City Christian 62

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No 1 Sioux Falls Christian handed Rapid City Christian its first loss of the season in high school boys basketball action Saturday.

SFC’s Griffen Goodbary scored a game-high 24 points. 

RCC’s Benson Kieffer led the effort with 21 points, Julius Frog cracked 18 points. Simon Kieffer tallied nine points while Aiden Roberts added eight points for the Comets.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 78, Dawson-Boyd (Minn.) 72

DELL RAPIDS — Trevon Beckman’s 42-point game powered Class B No. 2 Dell Rapids St. Mary past Dawson-Boyd Saturday.

Beckman finished with 42 points while Maverick LeBrun added 22 points in the win.


Northwestern 74, Little Wound 68

REDFIELD — Jack Hansen poured in 31 points during Northwestern’s narrow victory over Little Wound Saturday.

Hansen finished with 31 points, Dallas Stoltenberg and Jarren Haven each had 10 points, Talon Miller recorded nine points, while Carson Ewalt and Ty Boekelheide each tallied six points in the win.

LW’s Kinyan Catches Enemy tallied 25 points in the loss, Cashus Hunter added 17 points, while Daelan LeBeaux recorded 10 points for Little Wound.


Florence-Henry 75, Langford Area 54

REDFIELD — Carson Vavruska dropped 40 points as Florence-Henry took down Langford at the Pheasant Shoot-Out Saturday.

Vavruska tallied 40 points, Logan Koll had 13 points, while Tucker Keller and Carson Kelly each recorded three points in the win.

LA’s Kassen Keough recorded 27 points, Jacob Samson had 12, while Rennan Bruns totaled 10 points for the Lions.


Gayville-Volin 71, Burke 35

GAYVILLE — Spencer Karstens and Nate Selchert combined for 43 points in Gayville-Volin’s victory over Burke Saturday.

Karstens finished with 20 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals while Selchert added 23 points in the win. Hunter Wuebben tallied eight points for GV as well.

Burke’s Brody Indahl recorded 15 points while Mason Hausmann added seven points in the loss.


Leola/Frederick Area 54, Ellendale, N.D., 25

FREDERICK — Class B No. 4 Leola/Frederick Area improved to 10-0 after a boys basketball win over Ellendale, North Dakota, on Saturday. 

Leola/Frederick Area’s Noah Kippley scored 11 points and Westyn Thorpe had nine points. Ethan Petrich scored seven points, while Gavin Nickelson and Milo Sumption scored six points apiece.


Aberdeen Christian 76, Timber Lake 63

REDFIELD — Brooks Jett tallied 24 points during Aberdeen Christian’s victory over Timber Lake Saturday at the Pheasant Shoot-Out.

Jett finished with 24 points, Luke Kaiser tallied 12 points, Ellis Russell recorded 11 points, while Jett Johnson added nine points in the win.

TL’s Kanton Hunt led with 11 points, Treyden Beer added 10 points, Gavin Farlee totaled nine points, while Jackson Bigger cracked eight points in the loss.


Bridgewater-Emery 54, Canistota 37

CANISTOTA — Three players finished in double figures during Bridgewater-Emery’s victory over Canistota Saturday.

Holden Wollman led the way with 18 points and nine rebounds, Macklen Weber had 10 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, Ben Weber collected 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Jaxon Koch tallied seven points in the win.

Canistota’s Brady Scott tallied 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, Easton Miller tallied seven points and five steals, while Jaden Kleinsasser added six points and four rebounds in the loss.


Dakota Valley 70, Groton Area 64

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Luke Bruns powered Class A No. 3 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Bruns tallied 33 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Logan Collette and Drew Lukken scored 11 points apiece. Collette added four rebounds, while Luke had four assists and four rebounds. Tatum Sorenson added nine points, four rebounds and four assists.

For Groton Area, Ryder Johnson finished with 22 points and Keegan Tracy scored 21 points. Karson Zak had six assists and three steals.


Faulkton Area 68, Redfield 44

REDFIELD — Spencer Melius tallied 23 points as Faulkton Area defeated Redfield at Saturday’s Pheasant Shoot-Out.

Melius finished with 23 points, Korbin Stark tallied 16 points, Trey Machtemes recorded 12 points, while Carter Hall tallied 11 points in the win.

Redfield’s Grady Hulscher led with 14 points, Ruben Alvarez had 12 points, while Jackson Rude poured in eight points in the loss.


Clark/Willow Lake 55, Flandreau 43

FLANDREAU — Chris Bevers and Bo Begeman combined to score 27 points as Clark/Willow Lake picked up a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Bevers finished with 17 points and Begeman added 10 points.

For Flandreau, Paul Parsley recorded 22 points and five boards. Luke Sheppard added 11 points and six rebounds. 


Tea Area 65, Aberdeen Central 40

TEA — Three players scored in double figures to pace Tea Area to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Tea Area’s Grifin Wiebenga finished with 21 points, while Marshall Smythe added 17 points and six rebounds. Gavin Shawd tallied 12 points and five boards. Cole McKinney had six points and four rebounds.

For Aberdeen Central, Brendan Phillips finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three 3-pointers. Michael Dutenhoffer had 11 points. Colby Dauwen added five points and three assists. 

 

Alcester-Hudson 54, Scotland-Menno 43

SCOTLAND — Alcester-Hudson clipped Scotland-Menno during Saturday’s high school boys basketball action.

Ethan Bovill and Jose Topete each had 10 points in the win, Jacob Cole tallied eight points while Evan Haak and Tommy Walth each had seven points in the loss.

SM’s Ashton Dennis tallied 11 points, six rebounds and two assists, Kory Keppen added nine points and seven rebounds, Izayah Ulmer recorded seven points, while Trent Guthmiller poured in six points and seven rebounds as well.
