Howard 53, Hanson 39

HOWARD — Luke Koepsell powered Howard to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Koepsell finished with a game-high 24 points, while Austin Severson added 10 points. Carson Hinker scored eight points. Kolt Becker had six points and Lucas Feldhaus tallied five points.

For Hanson, Ben Wilber tossed in 18 points and Sutton Dewald scored eight points. A.J. Wilber scored six points. 


Castlewood 63, Dell Rapids St. Mary 59

DELL RAPIDS — Class B No. 1 Castlewood clipped Class B No. 2 Dell Rapids St. Mary in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Castlewood’s Bryon Laue powered the Warriors with 19 points and 23 rebounds. Brody Bass added 20 points. Kamden Keszler tallied nine points and Jamison Keszler scored seven points. Luke Baumberger had five points.

For DRSM, Trevon Beckman finished with 27 points. Maverick LeBrun totaled 15 points and 14 rebounds. Trimmier Hanson had 12 points.


Centerville 67, Freeman 58

CENTERVILLE — Four players scored in double figures as Centerville defeated Freeman during Tuesday’s high school boys basketball action.

Aiden Bobzin led the way with 18 points, seven assists and three blocks, Alec Austin tallied 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, Jase Brouwer added 12 points, Ethan Bobzin collected 11 points, while Miles Eide totaled eight points and five steals in the win.

Freeman’s David Walter led the effort with 20 points and eight rebounds, Luke Miller put in 12 points and four rebounds, Tate Sorenson tallied five points, six rebounds and three steals, while Chris Aasen and Taydon Kerrigan each had six points in the loss.


Milbank 60, Waubay-Summit 57

MILBANK — Jack Howard hit a half-court shot at the buzzer to lift Milbank to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Milbank’s Sam Rick finished with 26 points, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Bryan Meyer added 13 points. Ryan Keeton scored five points. Emmett Hanson added four points and eight boards. Howard had four points and five rebounds.

For WS, Traveion Neilan tallied 32 points, seven rebounds and three 3-pointers. Dylan Rumpza added 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Hogan Hlavacek had 10 points and eight rebounds. 


Canistota 65, Freeman Academy-Marion 41

CANISTOTA — Easton Miller poured in 20 points during Canistota’s victory over Freeman Academy-Marion Tuesday.

Miller tallied 20 points in the win, Brady Scott collected 13 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists, Nate Merrill recorded nine points and four steals, Jaden Kleinsasser added eight points, four rebounds and four assists, while Praden Acheson tacked on six points and five assists in the loss.


Sioux Valley 65, Chester 49

CHESTER — Sioux Valley took down Chester for a high school boys basketball victory Tuesday.

SV’s Maverick Nelson powered the Cossacks with 32 points in the win.

Chester’s Laye Wold tallied 11 points and six assists, while JD Prorok recorded five points and eight rebounds in the loss.


Flandreau 63, Deuel 39

CLEAR LAKE — Luke Sheppard’s 35-point double-double powered the Fliers to a big victory over Deuel Tuesday.

Sheppard finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc, Paul Parsley added 10 points and four rebounds, Alexavier Poitra tallied seven points , while Alfie Henderson collected six points in the win.

Deuel’s Gabe Sather led with 17 points and four rebounds, Troy Jenson tacked on 13 points, while Jaxon Peterreins tallied three points and a block in the loss.


Vermillion 59, Elk Point-Jefferson 25

ELK POINT — Vermillion clipped Elk Point-Jefferson during Tuesday’s boys basketball action.

Gabe Larsen led the Tanagers with 16 points and four rebounds, Luke Jensen tallied 10 points and eight rebounds, Trey Hansen had nine points, six assists and five rebounds, while Landon Cerny collected eight points and five rebounds in the win.

EPJ’s Benjamin Prouty totaled six points, while Aiden Hammitt, Grayson Girard and Chase Swanson each had five points in the loss.


Hamlin 88, De Smet 47

HAYTI — Four players scored in double figures as Class A No. 2 Hamlin defeated De Smet on Tuesday. The Chargers drilled 18 3-pointers. 

Hamlin’s Jackson Wadsworth scored 20 points and hit six 3-pointers. Easton Neuendorf finished with 19 points and hit five 3-pointers. Zac Van Meeteren tallied 16 points. Evan Stormo scored 14 points. Boden Stevenson scored nine points and Dawson Noem had five points.

For De Smet, Grant Wilkinson scored 20 points. Carter Wilkinson added 11 points.

Miller 73, Crow Creek 56

MILLER — Isaak Hunter and Derek Brueggeman combined for 44 points to power Miller to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Hunter finished with 23 points, while Brueggeman added 21 points. Will Resel recorded 14 points. Oliver Fritzsche scored nine points.

For Crow Creek, Kingston Big Eagle poured in a game-high 25 points. Walter Gibson finished with 14 points. Nate Big Eagle scored six points and Justin St. John scored five points. 


Spearfish 70, Mahpiya Luta 40

SPEARFISH — Spearfish picked up a 30-point boys basketball win over Mahpiya Luta on Tuesday.

Spearfish’s Kamren Davis scored 13 points. Kade Vavruska had 12 points, while Dylon Doren and Haroon Khan finished with 11 points apiece. Thomas Hughes scored 10 points and Mason Southern scored seven points. 

For Mahpiya Luta, Braylon Little tallied 18 points and Daniel Weston had eight points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 57, Redfield 28

REDFIELD — Mount Vernon/Plankinton used a 20-1 second-quarter margin to defeat Redfield in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

MVP’s Tyce Feistner finished with 11 points, while Cole Sandland added eight points. Brady Fox had seven points, while Riley Mayer and Erick Hohn had six points apiece. Caden Barnes and Derrick Fletcher scored five points apiece.

For Redfield, Ruben Alvarez had 12 points and Grady Hulscher scored eight points. 


Ipswich 46, North Central 28

IPSWICH — Ipswich clipped North Central during Tuesday’s boys basketball action.

Max Kulesa led with 11 points and four assists, Jaxon Holt tallied nine points and four rebounds, while Tucker Kadlec and Hayden Schlosser each totaled seven points in the win.

NC’s Cole Beitelspacher had seven points, while Tim Rucker and Kobe Wherry each had five points in the loss.


St. Thomas More 67, Lead-Deadwood 33

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More coasted past Lead-Deadwood for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

STM’s Noah Wald finished with 14 points, while Broeden Sales had 12 points. Baron Slusarski scored nine points. Wyatt Gylten, Max Speed and Ashton Paulsen scored six points apiece.

For Lead-Deadwood, Beau Wichterman scored 14 points. Blake Janssen scored six points.
