Rapid City Stevens 56, Watertown 46

RAPID CITY — Class AA No. 4 Rapid City Stevens used a 18-8 fourth-quarter surge to defeat Watertown in girls basketball action on Friday.

Stevens’ Taaliyah Porter tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Haley Falcon added nine points on three 3-pointers. Hayden Thorton and Jessa Griswold finished with five points apiece. Brittany Jones had seven rebounds and four steals.

For Watertown, Kynsee Russell finished with 13 points and four rebounds. Malia Kranz scored nine points and grabbed four boards. Grace Corey recorded eight points and eight rebounds. Emery Thury added seven points and seven rebounds. Jordan Remmers had six points. 


Dakota Valley 76, Tri-Valley 67

NORTH SIOUX CITY — A balanced scoring attack powered Class A No. 3 Dakota Valley to a girls basketball victory Friday.

Ella Otten had 17 points and four assists, Katie Betsworth recorded 17 points and three steals, while Cameryn Sommervold poured in 16 points and nine rebounds. Emerson Mead added seven rebounds and four assists as well for the Panthers.

TV’s Mattie Huwe totaled 22 points, six assists and four steals, Izzy Davey had 15 points, while Kadence Davey tallied six rebounds and four steals in the loss.


Canton 65, Beresford 62

BERESFORD — Canton edged Beresford for a narrow girls basketball victory Friday.

Canton’s stats were not reported.

Beresford’s Ella Merriman put up 36 points in the loss, Harley Koth added 16 points, while Kendra Ellis recorded five steals for the Watchdogs.


Flandreau 50, McCook Central-Montrose 37

FLANDREAU — Sadie Iott and Morgan Sheppard combined for 30 points and 16 rebounds to power Flandreau to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Iott finished with 18 points and four rebounds, while Sheppard added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sheppard added four assists. Hannah Krull tallied seven points and seven rebounds.

For MCM, Ashtyn DeKnikker scored 12 points. Mya Morrison added 10 points and Ella DeKnikker scored nine points.


Howard 56, Bridgewater-Emery 40

HOWARD — Ann Connor’s 23-point double-double powered Howard to a girls basketball victory over Bridgewater-Emery Friday.

Connor finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds, Dakota Spader tallied nine points and four steals, Tana Hoyer had 10 points and four rebounds, while Kayleigh Schwader recorded eight rebounds in the win.

BE’s Quinn Culhane had 11 points, Hayden Hofer totaled 11 points and five rebounds, while Rylee Fergeson added 11 points and six rebounds in the win.


Harding County 68, Newell 15

BUFFALO — Three players scored in double figures during Class B No. 5 Harding County’s victory over Newell Friday.

Brayden Padden led the Ranchers with 20 points, seven steals and four rebounds, Kaylen Padden tallied 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals, Bailey Verhulst added 13 points, seven steals and six assists, while Carson Page recorded six points and two boards in the win.

Newell’s Kaitlyn Shaykett tallied eight points and nine rebounds while Evelyn Ahart brought down eight rebounds in the loss.


Brookings 51, Rapid City Central 26

RAPID CITY — A balanced scoring attack powered Brookings to a girls basketball victory Friday.

Kymber Buys led the Bobcats with 12 points and three steals, Macy Even tallied eight points, Logan Smidt tallied seven points and five rebounds, while Sloan McLagan and Tess Burns each had six points in the win.

RCC’s Leah Landry tallied 13 points, six rebounds and three steals, while Colee Kruse had seven points and two steals in the loss.
