Wall 52, Custer 45

CUSTER — Wall held off Custer for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Wall’s Faith Frink finished with 16 points and Brittney Walker tallied 14 points. Karmyn Kjerstad scored 10 points and Allie Kjerstad had six points. 

Custer’s Kylee Ellerton recorded 16 points and Jojo Larson had 10 points. Maya Tennyson had eight points. Taylor Bland added five points. 


Deubrook Area 50, Hills-Beaver Creek (Minn.) 42

ELKTON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Deubrook Area to a girls basketball win at the Dakota Valley Conference Classic on Saturday.

Mataya Gouws totaled 16 points and Matte Bauman scored 14 points. Kylee Johnson finished with 11 points.  


Alcester-Hudson 40, Freeman Academy/Marion 33

IRENE — Alcester-Hudson turned a three-point halftime deficit into a seven-point girls basketball win at Saturday’s Blizzard Buster Classic.

AH’s Emily Winquist logged 16 points, while Delta Pies had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Emma Solberg scored six points. 

FAM’s Anna Olson finished with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Avary Thomas logged eight points, while Kallie Johnson scored six points. Sieta Wiersema had eight rebounds.


Rapid City Christian 59, Freeman 55

IRENE — Rapid City Christian clipped Freeman during Saturday’s Blizzard Buster Classic.

Nia Selfridge led the Comets with 16 points and five steals, Sadie Marshall added 15 points, NOra Kieffer totaled eight points and nine rebounds, while Brynn Casey grabbed five steals in the win.

Freeman’s Rylee Peters tallied 23 points, eight steals and seven rebounds, Reeslyn Hofer had nine points and three assists while Peyton McCune added 11 points in the loss.


Andes Central-Dakota Christian 54, Viborg-Hurley 41

IRENE — Josie Brouwer’s 25-point game powered Andes Central-Dakota Christian to a girls basketball victory Saturday at the Blizzard Buster Classic.

Brouwer finished with 25 points, Mahpiya Irving had 17 points, while Halle Olson poured in 10 points in the win.

VH’s Charley Nelson tallied 15 points, Jenna Graves had 10 points, while Kendra Gilbert totaled nine points in the loss.


Lakota Tech 60, Florence-Henry 30

IRENE — Shania Ferguson and Lizzie Robertson powered Lakota Tech to a girls basketball victory at Saturday’s Blizzard Buster Classic.

Ferguson tallied 23 points in the win while Robinson added 17 points.

FH’s Brooke Hlavacek tallied 11 points while Ashlynn Vavruska had seven in the loss.


Gayville-Volin 64, Platte-Geddes 31

IRENE — Three players scored in double figures to pace Gayville-Volin to a girls basketball win at Saturday’s Blizzard Buster Classic. 

GV’s Paisley Dimmer recorded 18 points and Taylor Hoxeng added 12 points. Maia Achen scored 10 points.

For Platte-Geddes, Kolbi Hoffman finished with 10 points. Kalli Sommerville scored seven points.

 

Dakota Valley 68, Bennett County 46

IRENE — Four players scored in double figures during Class A No. 3 Dakota Valley’s win over Bennett County at Saturday’s Blizzard Buster Classic.

Katie Betsworth led the Panthers in scoring with 15, Emerson Mead tallied 14 points while Ella Otten and Ella Otten each had 13 points in the win.

BC’s Thomiah Poor Bear had 16 points, Peyton O’Neill recorded 14 points while Reagan O’Neill tallied 13 points in the loss.


Irene-Wakonda 55, Osmond (Neb.) 40

IRENE — Madison Orr recorded a double-double during Irene-Wakonda’s victory Saturday at the Blizzard Buster Classic.

Orr finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals while Emily Oien added 11 points in the win.


Vermillion 54, Lyman 51

IRENE — Taylor Reuvers and Brooke Jensen powered Class A No. 4 Vermillion past Class B No. 3 Lyman Saturday to close out Saturday’s Blizzard Buster Classic.

Reuvers finished with 21 points while Jensen poured in 17 points in the win.

Lyman’s Brooke Montgomery tallied 15 points, Mak Scott had 12 points, while Kenzie Wagner added eight points in the loss.


North Central 52, Langford Area 38

EUREKA — Amree Vander Vorst’s 28-point double-double powered North Central to a high school girls basketball victory Saturday.

VanderVorst finished with 28 points and 13 rebounds, Ella Batie piled up 14 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds, while Tylee Vander Vorst added five points in the win.

LA’s Alex Darling had 18 points, while Paytyn Marlow and Eliana Darling each recorded nine points in the loss.


Great Plains Lutheran 54, Aberdeen Christian 8

ABERDEEN — A balanced scoring attack powered Great Plains Lutheran to a high school girls basketball victory Saturday.

Abby Kjenstad led the Panthers with 11 points, Jolie Lien and Esta Cameron each had 10 points, while Katherine Prahl and Myra Lentz each totaled eight points in the win.

AC’s Sophia Eichler tallied seven points in the loss.


Watertown 48, Rapid City Central 37

RAPID CITY — Emery Thury’s 18-point game powered Watertown to a high school girls basketball victory Saturday.

Thury led the Arrows with 18 points and four steals, Kynsee Russell had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals, Grace Corey tallied eight points and seven rebounds, while Jordan Remmers added seven points in the win.

RCC’s Leah Landry totaled 16 points and eight rebounds, Chloe Shreve tallied nine points, while Olivia Pierce and Colee Kruse each had five points in the loss.
