West Central 49, Milbank 43

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures as West Central edged Milbank in girls basketball action at Saturday’s Sacred Hoops Classic.

West Central’s Ellie Knight finished with 14 points and hit four 3-pointers. Raina Goehring added 13 points and Abbi Thornton scored 10 points. Kace Jaton scored six points.

For Milbank, Isabella Anderson scored 14 points. Claire Snaza added nine points and Tyra Berry had seven points. Siera Wenzl had six points.  


Jones County 54, Pine Ridge 40

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Jones County to a girls basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday.

Jones County’s Sunny Valburg finished with 16 points, while Jacey Jensen had 13 points. BreAna Aske added 11 points. Aubrey Tucker scored eight points.

For Pine Ridge, Mia Long Visitor scored 19 points and hit five 3-pointers. Tina Sierra added eight points, while Diana Long Visitor scored seven points. Melina Lakota had six points.


Sioux Falls Christian 63, Winner 52

WINNER — Avery Reitz and Maya Nelson combined for 39 points as Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian defeated Winner in high school girls basketball action Saturday.

Reitz tallied 22 points for the Chargers while Nelson had 17 points in the win.

Winner’s Adysen Pravecek tallied 18 points in the loss, while Lilly Barfuss totaled nine points for the Warriors.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 61, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 49

HURLEY — Four players scored in double figures during Dell Rapids St. Mary’s upset victory over Class B No. 5 Andes Central/Dakota Christian in Saturday’s Midwest Miracles Classic.

Brianna Griffin led all scorers with 13 points, four assists and three rebounds, Jenna Miller had 12 points, four rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks, Mandala Hanson had 11 points, three assists and two rebounds, Maddyn LeBrun scored 10 points and brought down 10 rebounds, while Addison Libis had eight points and three steals in the win.

ACDC’s Josie Brouwer totaled 23 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Mahpiya Irving had eight points and four assists, Halle Olson added seven points, nine rebounds and seven blocks, while Gabriella Olson had five points and two rebounds in the loss.


Elk Point/Jefferson 38, Viborg-Hurley 35

HURLEY — Elk Point/Jefferson edged Viborg-Hurley during Saturday’s Midwest Miracles Classic.

Bentlee Kolbaum powered the Huskies with 14 points while Courtney Brewer tallied 10 points in the win.

VH’s Aubree Schwartz tallied nine points while Charley Nelson and Jennna Graves each had six points in the loss.


St. Francis 47, Kimball/White Lake 26

MITCHELL — St. Francis pulled away from Kimball/White Lake for a girls basketball win at Saturday’s Sacred Hoops Classic.

St. Francis’ Angelique Romero scored 15 points and Lesleen Makes Room for Them had 12 points. Joslyn Bordeaux added nine points. Wakil Najin Win White Hat scored six points.

For KWL, Rylee McCord scored 11 points and Summer Skluzak had 10 points. 


Centerville 64, Hills-Beaver Creek (Minn.) 58

HURLEY — Three players scored in double figures to power Class B No. 1 Centerville to a girls basketball at the Midwest Miracles Classic on Saturday.

Centerville’s Emma Marshall finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and six steals. Althea Gust added 20 points. Izzie Eide had 13 points and seven rebounds. Brea Austin added five points.


Highmore-Harrold 60, Wessington Springs 50

HIGHMORE — Four players scored in double figures as Highmore-Harrold knocked off Wessington Springs Saturday in high school girls basketball action.

Jada Baloun led with 16 points and seven rebounds, Addison McDonnell had 13 points, 14 rebounds and three assists, Autumn Fallis recorded 11 points and five assists, while Elle Stagg tallied 11 points and two assists in the win.

Wessington Springs’ stats were not reported.


Faulkton Area 62, Wolsey-Wessington 43

FAULKTON — Anika Mueller powered Faulkton Area to victory with 27 points Saturday against Wolsey-Wessington.

Mueller finished with 27 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Carley Cotton added 16 points, four rebounds, six assists and four steals, Presleigh Martinmaas had 11 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and three assists, while Brooklyn Kast recorded six points, three rebounds and two assists in the win.

WW’s Shae Uttecht tallied 25 points, five steals, five rebounds and three assists in the loss, Taylor Eichstadt had six points, three assists and three steals, while Maria Nelson and Kendal Uttecht each had five points in the loss.


Dell Rapids 57, Osmond (Neb.) 19

HURLEY — Dell Rapids rolled past Osmond (Neb.) for a girls basketball win at the Midwest Miracles Classic on Saturday.

Dell Rapids’ Jersi Schultz recorded 15 points and eight boards. Rorie Thoreson finished with 12 points and five steals. Elly Olson added 12 points, six rebounds and three steals. Mya Destister had six points.


Sturgis Brown 51, Douglas 29

BOX ELDER — Avreigh Long’s 17-point burst lifted Sturgis Brown past Douglas Saturday in high school girls basketball action.

Long had 17 points, Tori Williams totaled 10 points, Leigha Long had eight points, while Kierra Killinger tallied nine points in the win.

Douglas’ Olivia Harris had seven points, Ramzy Johnson tallied six points, while Ryli La Joie recorded five points in the loss.
