Spearfish 44, Hill City 38

HILL CITY — Class AA No. 5 Spearfish held off Hill City for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Spearfish’s Kate Scharf finished with 17 points and hit five 3-pointers. Jozie Dana scored 10 points. Avery Kirk posted eight points and Tiersyn Grubb had five points. 

For Hill City, Macie Ham recorded nine points. Naiya Ginsbach and Kylee Alexander scored eight points apiece. Daril Frandsen and Andree Frandsen scored five points apiece. 


Kimball/White Lake 50, Colome 23

COLOME — Kimball/White Lake coasted past Colome for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

KWL’s Rylee McCord tossed in 20 points. Kyza Johnson scored nine points and Summer Skluzak finished with eight points. Lindy Kiehn scored six points.

For Colome, Raelynn Kingsley scored 13 points. 


Arlington 47, De Smet 46

ARLINGTON — Jaelyn Huntimer and Sony Johnson combined to score 27 points as Arlington clipped De Smet in girls basketball action on Thursday.

Huntimer finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Johnson added 12 points and seven rebounds. Ellisyn Vincent six points and grabbed five rebounds. Lauryn Mutziger had five points. Madalyn Madsen had four points and five rebounds.

For De Smet, Hazel Luethmers finished with 19 points and three rebounds. Audi Currier logged 13 points and seven rebounds. Alyssa Asleson and Mirra Beck scored seven points apiece. Beck added seven rebounds. Brooke Jennings and Ivey Schoenfelder scored five points apiece. Jennings had five boards. 


Mobridge-Pollock 45, Miller 40

MILLER — Mobridge-Pollock held off Miller for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Blake Thompson finished with 17 points, five rebounds, four 3-pointers and three steals. Brooke Bain added 10 points and four steals. Tegan Konold logged eight points, seven rebounds and three steals. Jayda Thompson finished with four points and six rebounds. Charley Henderson collected six boards.

For Miller, Morgan Kolda tallied 17 points, nine steals and five rebounds. Paige Werdel added 11 points, five steals and four rebounds. Gracen Werdel had five rebounds. Kate Lichty added seven rebounds. 


Hamlin 62, Tiospa Zina 25

AGENCY VILLAGE — Class A No. 5 Hamlin rolled past Tiospa Zina for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Hamlin’s Addie Steffensen scored a game-high 22 points and Jo Steffensen added 16 points. Addie Neuendorf had nine points. Issie Steffensen and Kayde Nebel scored five points apiece.

For TZ, Caden Smith scored 13 points and Maya Deutsch scored six points. 


Chester 60, Beresford 58

CHESTER — Chester clipped Beresford for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Chester’s Katelyn Schut finished with 20 points, while Jacy Wolf and Emmerson Eppard had 15 points apiece. Eppard added nine rebounds and six steals. 

For Beresford, Lily Sievert scored a game-high 26 points. Harley Koth tallied 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 55, Burke 41

BURKE — Andes Central/Dakota Christian got off to a quick start and picked up a win over Burke in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Mahpiya Irving led Andes Central/Dakota Christian with 23 points while Josie Brouwer added 16 points. 

Kailee Frank led Burke with 13 points and two assists. Annie Connot finished with eight points, three assists and three steals. 


Herreid/Selby Area 44, Faulkton Area 29

FAULKTON — Taryn Hettick and Stephanie Albee combined for 28 points as Herreid/Selby Area picked up a win over Faulkton Area in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Albee paced Herreid/Selby Area with 13 points, ten rebounds, two assists and a block. Hettick notched 15 points, two rebounds and five assists. Jordyn Rossow chipped in with eight points and 12 rebounds. 

Anika Mueller led Faulkton Area with 20 points and five rebounds. Carley Cotton added nine points, eight rebounds and two assists. 


Deubrook Area 56, Iroquois/Lake Preston 16

LAKE PRESTON — Deubrook Area clipped Iroquois/Lake Preston picking up a win in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Matte Bauman led the Dolphins with 16 points. Kylee Johnson added 11 points and Mataya Gouws scored eight points. 

Hadlee Holt led Iroquois/Lake Preston with five points while Kera Davis and Skyla Harris each added four points. 


Vermillion 70, Baltic 35

VERMILLION — Three players scored in double figures as Class A No. 2 Vermillion defeated Baltic in Thursday high school girls basketball action.

Vermillion’s Taylor Reuvers finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kasey Hanson added 17 points. Brooke Jensen had 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

For Baltic, Holland Kortemeyer had 11 points and Ellie Pickett scored 10 points. Meredith Larson added nine points.  


Wagner 67, Bon Homme 26

WAGNER — Ashlyn Koupal powered Class A No. 3 Wagner to a Thursday girls basketball victory.

Koupal finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Braxton Nedved added 17 points, three rebounds and three steals. Lydia Yost posted nine points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. 

For Bon Homme, Kenadee Kozak had 10 points. Nevaeh Myers scored six points. Olivia Kaul had seven rebounds, while Taycee Ranek had six rebounds and four points. 


Winner 68, Todd County 24

MISSION — Four players reached double figures as Winner ran past Todd County in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Olivia Swedlund paced the Warriors with 19 points. Kylie Sachtjen and Lilly Barfuss each scored 12 points and Keelie Kuil chipped in with 11 points. 

Luisa Two Eagle and Allie Two Elk each scored five points for Todd County. 


Viborg-Hurley 55, Hanson 33

ALEXANDRIA — Viborg-Hurley pulled away from Hanson for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

VH’s Charley Nelson finished with 21 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Jenna Graves had 15 points. Tatum Lyons recorded five points. Olivia Hanson had six rebounds and three points. 

For Hanson, Kylie Haiar had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Ava Doyle and Cadence Jarding scored six points apiece. Paige Kayser had five rebounds. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 52, Howard 38

HOWARD — A balanced scoring attack lifted Sanborn Central/Woonsocket over Howard in Thursday night girls basketball action. 

Alexa Goertz paced Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with 20 points, six rebounds and six steals. Kaylie Robinson finished with nine points, eight rebounds and eight steals while Liz Boschee had 10 points. 

Ann Connor led Howard with 23 points and 14 rebounds. 


Northwestern 43, Hitchcock-Tulare 42

MELLETTE — Northwestern edged Hitchcock-Tulare for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Tara Blachford added nine points and seven rebounds. Josie Sparling had eight points, while Sophia Troske logged six points. 

For HT, Cambree Hoekman finished with 15 points and three rebounds. Katelyn Schroeder had 14 points and seven rebounds. Isabel Gilbert posted six rebounds and three points. Gracyn Bixler logged five points and four rebounds. 


Warner 49, Ipswich 45

IPSWICH — Warner outlasted Ipswich for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Warner’s Stacia Carda finished with 19 points and four rebounds. Jordyn Jensen added eight points and three rebounds. Courtney Leidholt recorded seven points, while MaKenna Leidholt had six points and 12 rebounds. Jaycee Jung scored five points and grabbed five rebounds.

For Ipswich, Jalyssa Hutson had 13 points. Anna Nierman posted 10 points, while Marley Guthmiller added seven points and four rebounds. Gabby Wald scored nine points. 


Wessington Springs 58, Sunshine Bible Academy 29

MILLER — Wessington Springs used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Wessington Springs’ Ashlyn Weber finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Masynn Mebius added eight points, while Kerrstynn Heim and Kenzie Kolousek had seven points apiece. Mariah Messmer, Kaitlyn Braun and Addyson Orth scored six points apiece. 

For SBA, Abby Himan finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Ciera Mickelson posted seven points and five rebounds. Breanna Thieman had six points.
