MISSION — Todd County freshman Julise Shaw had a record-breaking day Thursday as the Todd County boys and girls teams claimed titles at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Shaw won the 100-meter dash (:12.86), 200-meter dash (27.12, Record, Old Record, Teciah Spotted Tail, Todd County, :28.30, 2018), Long Jump (16-11.25, Record, Old Record, Echo Ecoffey, Red Cloud, 16-9, 2018), and anchored the winning 400-meter relay (:54.39).

The Todd County girls scored 225 points, with Lakota Nation (79) and Little Wound scoring (52). 

The Falcons had a dominant day on their home track as Elizabeth Moore won the 1,600 (6:29.45) and 3,200 (15:47.13). Madison Lamoureaux won the 100-meter hurdles (:25.24), Bailey White Hat the triple jump (29-8) and the Falcons claimed titles in the 400-meter relay (:54.39), 800-meter relay (2:05.6), 1,600-meter relay (5:22.12), 3,200-meter relay (12:21.59) and the sprint medley relay (5:34.82). 

Lakota Tech’s Taylor Byerley won three events, the 400-meter dash (1:02.69) , the 800-meter run (2:31.29) and the high jump (4-10). 

Other event winners were Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Alaceyia Adams (80-5) in the discus and Lakota Tech’s Tawny Rodriquez in the shot put (30-4).

On the boys side Todd County won the team title with 180 points with Little Wound (111) and Pine Ridge (83) rounding out the top three teams. 

Thaddeus Allen had a big day for the Falcons winning the triple jump (35-11) and the 1,600-meter run (5:03.86). Bryce Redfish won the shot put (43-1) and the Falcons claimed titles in the 400-meter relay (:49.52) the 1,600-meter relay (4:15.58), and the 3,200-meter relay (10:30.62). The winning 1,600 meter relay team was composed of an all eighth-grade roster (Cayde Valandra, Roger Roether, Carver Rahn, Chris Ellert).

Pine Ridge’s Julian Watson won the 110-meter hurdles (:21.47), the 300-meter hurdles (:52.82), finished second in the long jump (17-9) and ran a leg on the winning 800-meter relay. 

The Lower Brule boys had a nice day with Brian Laroche Jr. winning the 200-meter dash (:24.43). Marley Carpenter won the 400-meter dash (:56.65) and the high jump (5-4), while the Sioux captured the sprint medley relay (:56.65).
